ok i will reply to my own topic here, when i was younger i wanted to genuinely work with animals, like a zoo keeper, the animal i liked would change, from apes to camels, and bears etc, i studied biology at uni with an elective of biodiversity from the conservation stream, however i drifted away from that when i began to become interested in molecular and cellular biology, inspired by viruses and the theories put forward to me. so i went on to study laboratory technology focusing on pathology because in high school i wanted to do biotech for forensic purposes. so that combined my goals. i am currently just an observer drifting through space and time.

"who need the exercise"..lol

i didn't find any prollum doin whut i wanted to do.

for years it seemed that life couldn't get any better than that.

i've been all across this country several times over, living in most

of the places i landed in and to the most part, live under my own rules.

(circumventing the laws you live by) and life was fun.

whut i have become is a better person than that.

i've come to respect the laws of the land as bein whut they are,

the best way to aford justice to all who live in the land (ideally).

i've come to appreciate the life i now live and with the things i now have.

there is a degree of freedom that i feel now that was unatainable to me

in the past....

i am KING BAD!!!

My original goal in life was to ride around in a van with my friends and a dog and solve mysteries for a living. I realized real fast that wasn't gonna pay bills. I was 7.

I went into the entertainment biz

As a kid, I wanted to be a syndicated newspaper cartoonist or a comic-book artist. I graduated with a BA in design, and make a living as a graphic designer, but nothing involving cartoons. Maybe one day I'll try to syndicate my stuff again.

At various times in my life I've wanted to be a musician, a visual artist, a bodybuilder, a astronomer, a Crip gang member or a writer. Those were the things that i was either interested in, got caught up in, or i was good at.

What i ended up becoming was this guy who's loved by many, hated by few, and who has led a interesting life to say the least.

Financially i don't make a lot of money but since i don't have any kids i don't need to. Its all good.

I wanted to be a crime scene investigator and a fashion designer...

Ended up working in a lab, just not a crime one and I'm giving up on the fashion design aspirations

If you will, so will I

I never really had a set idea of what I wanted to be...but I always knew that I could write my ass off (English classes and research were my strong points) and was always weak in math.

Today I'm in the field of Finance. Who knew. While it's not my passion, I seem to be good at it, but I think it's starting to bore me. confused

I remember considering the following careers:

math teacher

translator for the UN

actuary

museum curator

I realized at my first museum job that I was more interested in museum education than curatorial work. My current job, at a nonprofit, requires me to use quite a bit of math. I also give tours at an art museum so I have the museum/teacher/education angle covered, too.

I also knew I couldn't wait to leave my small home town and move the big city! I had visions of living a glamourous life, living in fabulous apartment in a fancy highrise. I live NYC - it doesn't get much bigger (or different from my rural Iowa upbringing) than that! Still working on a fabulous apartment, but I would prefer it not be in a highrise.

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

When I was really young, I wanted to be a lawyer. Until I found out how many years of school was involved. Then I decided I wanted to be a news reporter. Majored in journalism in high school and college but did not finish my degree.

I am currently an RN in a specialized department. Sometimes I love my work but it is not like writing. smile

I wanted to be either an artist [I could draw very well as a kid & I'm not too shabby today. I drew the pic that is my avatar over 10 years ago], or a musician [music producer]. While I do make music today, I have yet to make any $ off of it & I currently install surveillance systems [video cameras] in various stores of all types [which sucks]. neutral

As a child I wanted to pitch in the major leagues or play point guard for the Lakers. Then I decided-- of my own free-will mind you-- to pursue academic interests. Totally my decision biggrin. In my twenties I dreamed of becoming the next Picasso but I was unwilling to make the necessary sacrifices and go the starving artist route. So that led me back to school. First it was art school where I figured that I could at least teach art and paint in my spare time. Later I decided i could make a better living in other fields so I left art school and began my studies to become...... wait for it........ a pharmacist, naturally.... and that's what I am today.

In elementary school I wanted to be a vet, until I saw a video in school of animals being euthanized.

In late elementary-high school-early 20s I wanted to be a flutist (later a music teacher) and I went to Berklee. I admit it, I dreamed about performing/ working with Prince in some capacity (but classical flute doesnt quite match up does it and I wasnt devoted to it). I worked in a record store and was a classical music buyer. Then in my mid 20s I wanted to be an actress and studied at a local theatre for 2 yrs. In my late 30s I wanted to be a real estate agent, got my license and then let it go due to the poor market.

Presently, I make a living as a school speech-language pathologist. For fun, I act in community theatre. I also played some different flutes in a play recently.

Hopefully I've "become" a kind, loving person who cares for other people, children and animals.
