I never would have guessed the team that dominated the Yankees and looked so scary in four ALCS games in turn would get swept in the World Series.

Congrats to the Giants as another ex-Astro, Hunter Pence, wins a ring with another team.

I'm glad that is over.

These games were cutting into my shows.

Grew up a big baseball fan but now it bores me 2 tears. The last game I watched the Cubs got embarrassed in a playoff game.

There, I amended your statement to apply to basically any Cubs game!

Can't argue with that.........but since I don't watch baseball anymore, I'll stick with that playoff disaster from a few years ago.

Sadly, my beloved Astros made the Cubbies look like the '27 Yankees this year.

And with the Astros' move to the AL West, I fear my baseball-watching days are pretty much over.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea and this series was a snoozer, but the game still has it's moments of greatness IMO.

Even though it was a sweep, I found the WS games I watched to be very exciting. What is different about the game now that makes it boring compared to when you used to watch it?

Three of the four games were very close--decided by two runs or less. And in the other game, one player hit three home runs. You can count on one hand how many times that has been done in a world series game. How has this series been a snoozer?

I'm into a lot of different activities. I simple don't have time 2 watch a lot of TV. When I do, the NBA & the NFL are about the only 2 sports left I can stand 2 watch. I'd rather take my limited time and spend it on my 15 or so 'hobbies". There is just not enough time in the day.

A typical baseball game may have 5-8 hits per team. The rest of the time, almost NOTHING is actually happening worth watching. I guess I just got bored with it over time. It doesn't hlep that my old favorite team (the Cubs) is the worst team in pro sports history.

I would've preferred a tighter series. It seemed somewhat predictible and it lost some of the usual excitement for me.

Okay, if you are a person that likes offense, then I can see being disappointed with the game now with home runs being down and no-hitters thrown much more frequently. I'm a fan of pitching so I like how the game has changed.

Predictable would have been the Tigers sweeping the Giants. And most baseball fans agree that game one was one of the most unpredictable games ever: Verlander getting shelled? Sandoval hitting three home runs after only hitting 12 the entire season? In a ball park that surrenders the least home runs in the majors? Washed up Barry Zito shutting down the Tigers? Very unpredictable. Also many people thought if the Tigers had won last night--and they almost did--then anything could have happened with Verlander pitching tonight (no way Zito outpitches him again) and the Tigers getting reenergizied going back to SF. On the contrary, I found it very exciting knowing the Giants had to win last night and sweep the series otherwise the Tigers have all the momentum and possibly force a game seven.

The series was pretty exciting, even though it was a sweep. Particularly last nights game, which could have gone either way, right up until the very end. That said, it might have been more exciting if it had gone to seven games.

I am typically not a fan of the pitcher's duel. I like to see hits. But watching the Giants' pitchers was just awesome. All of them performed, and performed under phenomenal pressure. Pitcher after pitcher kept delivering again and again.

I cannot imagine the pressure of facing the best hitter in baseball, final out of the world series, everyone watching you, wind blowing, rain falling, 30 degrees, and throwing a perfect pitch. Amazing.

I loved every part of it except that.

I wish baseball would go back to doubleheaders, and start the season early, so the World Series would quit having to deal with snow and sleet.

Baseball in the cold just isn't right.

It is weird. But then, the whole summer they're wearing long pants & long sleeves, so who's to say what is right?

I thought it would have taken six games to win the series, so I was even a bit surprised. It's funny how the Giants are still seen as underdogs. I love it when they can prove the naysayers wrong. Preparing for the parade right now.

I heard it was the lowest or second lowest rated World Series ever. It seems that for most of the country, it boils down to any series that doesn't include Yankees, Red Sox, or other well-known teams would be considered an unworthy event to watch.

Nice pictures! Very clever in the last one, unfortunately there's probably a lot of young'uns that have no clue about the meaning behind it. smile
