Honestly [keeping it real boxed]....I like the Paranormal Activity series better than the "Saw" series easily! lol I'm worried about part 4 though....

I had no idea they could knock it out of the park like they did in 3, so I now trust the film makers to exceed my expectations in every way.

I totally agree agree about part 3. I was pretty shocked with that ending. That's the best ending of them all imo. Part 4 is not sparking my interest as much [from the previews I've seen], but I'd still watch it nod.....

I Just watched The Hills Have Eyes 1977. Been awhile since i have seen this one!

Man.. good movie but very flawed. The low budet 70's Easy Rider still editing is annoying as fuck sometimes & that movie does not have an ending.. i don't call that bullshit red screen an ending at all lol

Many will disagree & hate this... and while i usually detest remakes like crazy. The remake of Hills i think is a tiny bit better lurking

It's way more intense, better acting, more to the story & the characters did more.. but like the original, the remake didn't have a damn ending either lol

lol I actually think the remake is WAY better than the original, & I was a fan of the original too! The remake was just far better put together, & the gore & special effect were damn good [plus a better ending]! Did you ever see the original "Hills Have Eyes 2"? That movie was friggin' hilarious [they gave the dog a flashback scene it the movie......what other movie have you ever heard of the gives a pet a flashback scene? falloff]! It really wasn't that good though [just like the sequel to the remake wasn't good either lol].

the remake to the orginal was GOD AWFUL SHIT... Besides the fact the dog hada flashback. The entire reason for the family going back was cash cow low intelligence writing lol

But hey Wes craven admited he did the movie purely because he needed the money... but it came out same year as nightmare on elm street.. so i think his money troubles where solved after that. I think 3 people saw Hills 2 in theatre lol

Now i wish he would fess up that My Soul To Take & every movie with Wes Craven presents in the title are shit to lol

Gonna have to pimp my own book again! biggrin

http://filmsfilmsfilms.co...e_book/0-6

All my faves are in there. Obviously for Halloween night its gotta be Halloween. For something damn scary The Shining and you have to finish the evening with something funny so Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, Young Frankenstein, Tremors something like that.

Friday the 13th is a fave to just 'cos it takes me back to being a 12 year old again.

So you've seen Martyrs? I read about the ending online and it sounded so good and clever but I just couldn't finish it. Same with Devil's Backbone.

Oldboy isn't a horror movie, per se, but it sure is freaky!

And does anyone know a movie about a family where the dad raises the kids to think they live in a horrible place where there is nothing but evil out there so they stay inside at all times? I cannot think of it and it isn't a horror/slasher movie, just a really creepy story.

Oh, and Funny Games.

Yes, I actually saw the uncut version of Martyrs & I enjoyed it very much so. It's not for everyone, but I really liked it's originality. The end really creeped me out too nod lol. Devil's Backbone was really good too...I think you should be able to finish that one....unless you just have something against it, then I understand lol. You're right about Oldboy [in terms of if it's a true horror movie or not], but damn was it a really good movie & such a horrible thing to do to someone disbelief. That movie you described sound familiar, but I can't pinpoint the name right now hmmm. I like the original Funny Games more than the remake....

I Saw The Devil was another movie I'm not sure I would say is a true horror movie, but it is absolutely superb imo.

Ooh, thanks for the recommendation. I will def check out I Saw The Devil. And I will finish Devil's Backbone. Never saw the remake of Funny Games because the first one left me so uneasy. Speaking of Michael Haneke (sp?), have you seen White Ribbon? I haven't but want to. And don't get me started on The Seventh Continent. That business left me depressed me for days. Weeks, actually.

A Tale of Two Sisters is another creepy one. Not as creepy as Audition, but still freaky.

Love this...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070698/

Danielle Breton, (Margot Kidder) a beautiful young model, meets an attractive young advertising rep on a Manhattan game show and he escorts her to her home to Staten Island. The next day, her neighbor Grace Collier, a local reporter, witnesses a bloodbath of violence in Danielle's apartment - and can't get anyone to believe her. With the help of a private detective, Grace attempts to solve the mystery.

Yes, please watch I Saw The Devil! I was more of a fan of the original Funny Games myself, so you're not missing much with remake imo. I have heard about The White Ribbon, but I have yet to see it & I haven't heard of The Seventh Continent, so I will definitely check that one out too.

Love love love vampire movies but they don't scare me! I agree. Vampire movies can be good, but there aren't many I would consider scary whatsoever.

I often feel that I watch horror movies for the thrill of hoping to be scared by them. The scarier the better. As an adult, it really takes something unique & out of nowhere to scare me. I watch horror movies in the dark [& in stereo] to try & add to my experience. Though I rarely ever get the same feelings I had as a kid watching horror movies, I can't say I don't enjoy trying to get those feelings back as an adult. lol

The opposite happened to me! I loved horror movies but very few really scared me! The exorcist didn't scare me at all, but since having kids I'm really nervous about things! I think it's the thought of anything happening to them, or to me, and them being left alone!

The thing that has scared me he most lately was on dexter the first time I saw it! It was a scene where a girl looked in the mirror in her bathroom, and saw a murderer waiting to kill her! I had to check my mirror everytime I was home a.one and needed the toilet for weeks!

I saw this movie when I was a little girl. Very little girl. neutral Don't ask me why my JW mom and step-dad took my sister and me to a drive-in to see this. shrug I even remember it was the Carolina Drive-In in Georgetown, SC.

I remember sitting in the backseat terrified. My whole life I remembered only two scenes from the movie. The barbed-wire scene and the bedroom rape scene. But I always remembered the title and I searched for this movie for a very long time just to be certain I didn't dream it all up. Sure enough, I found it on the TCM site the other day. The two 'memory' photo scenes I found on another site were exactly as I remembered.

http://bruceholecheck.blo...evils.html

Unfortunately I can't find it anywhere. Supposed to have been on DVD by now but it's not on the TCM playlist. sad I really really want to find this.

Based on a true story.

A thinly disguised treatment of a bizarre news story that made international headlines in 1964. The film is based on testimony given during the long trial of three sisters who operated a white slave ring throughout Mexico. They were charged with the deaths of more than thirty-five young girls. The enslaved women who numbered over two thousand ranging in age from fourteen to twenty-five were subjected by the evil sisters to a tyranny of torture and depravity.

Director: William Grefé
Writers: William Grefé and John Nicholas

Released by Thunderbird International
Release date: December 1966

More info here...

http://templeofschlock.bl...le-11.html

So what hopes do we have that Grefe's The Devil's Sisters will turn up some day? In a recent posting at the Cinehound Forum, the director had this to say:

"Of all the films I have directed, The Devil's Sisters is the only one I have no print, video or DVD of. I have looked for over 25 years, with no luck. But just recently, via the internet, I discovered a collector in Germany who has a print and am currently in negotiation to purchase said print. If I am successful, we will be putting out a DVD. The one problem is that the last 8 minutes of the film is missing...

"If, for any reason, you know any film collectors or companies that might know where we could obtain a print, DVD or video, please let me know. This film was released big in Germany and other parts of Europe, the German title being Die Schwestern (Sklavinnen der Eotik), also released under the title The Psychedelics. It was also released about 15 years ago on video."

I've heard of this film, but I've never seen it before [obviously lol]. I actually really like those old school films like these. nod It would be nice if it can be found & released someday. It looks pretty interesting.... cool

Oh wow...someone else heard of it?? woot! I put in a request on the TCM site. Who knows...maybe someone will have a copy somewhere. I love old films like this. I'm so tired of movies with just blood and gore for the sake of blood and gore and the same tired chop-em-up. bored

I'm a pretty big fan of horror, so I know a bunch of stuff about tons of movies [whether I've seen them, or just heard about them]. I'm happy you brought this one up. It could easly get lost in the shuffle nod.

I think it's all about how it's done. I can watch any horror movie, if it's done well & has some creativity to it. There just seems to be tons of horror movies that lack in these areas, but I'm a sucker for them anyway lol. Most slasher films are interchangeable imo, but I tend to watch anyway, even though I know what's going to happen. lol
