CAMEOS - I heard that Jonathon Frid - the original Barnabas Collins - had a cameo in this movie. Really? Who was he? One of Alice Cooper's guitar players? Someone help me out here, because I have no idea if Frid was in this movie or not. Thinking about it, the only character I think he could have been was the old lady family member/non-Mother Of All Witches. I'd go on wikipedia and look, but you know what? I really don't care that much.

Jonathon Frid was one of the guests at the Alice Cooper concert/party/ball whatever.

They had the scene where guests were walking in red carpet style. That was where he was, for a nano second.

Puss in Boots (2011) - A story about the events leading up to the sword fighting cat's meeting with Shrek and his friends.

Zany comedy with adult appeal just like the Shrek movies. star star star

Thanks. I understand even the original Angelique was in that scene, too.

This is a perfect microcosm for how bad this movie was. They couldn't even highlight the legends properly.

Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011) - Po and his friends fight to stop a peacock villain from conquering China with a deadly new weapon, but first the Dragon Warrior must come to terms with his past.

I very much liked the blend of 3D and 2D animation. star star star 1/2

I finally watched the Avengers the other night .

EH . A fun movie to watch but I will never watch it again ... and I would never buy it . Do not think that it was better than any of the Xmen movies ....yes ... even the ones with Kelsey Grammer as a superhuman ... lol lol

Colonel Angus may be smelly. colonel angus may be a little rough . but deep down ... Colonel angus is very sweet.

This was the second time I saw this, with the kids this time - was in stitches throughout since baby Max kept talking about the hot guy in the movie and we were like which one is the hot guy, and he said "the dumb one!" as if that were ovious. Turns out he thought that was what everyone was calling Hawkeye. Hot Guy, Hawkeye - same thing falloff Then we totally lost it when Hawkeye saved a little kid off a school bus and Max sighed and said he wished the Hot Guy would carry HIM in his arms like that.

3.5/5

Really enjoyed it! But where was Swiss Miss??? and all those other weird guys from the musical confuse tease

I liked Rhys Ifans (he is always a joy) and Sally Field and Martin Sheen heart Emma Stone, meh but her dad Dennis Leary I LOVE to watch in movies - have you seen "Double Whammy?" He was cool in that nod

3.5/5

I could tell this was a really good movie, Sean Penn is one of my faves, but I couldn't keep my eyes open, too much talking yawn

2.5/4

Barely kept awake in this one - some funny quirky stuff, like the parents, but the boy and his girlfriend were boring.

2.5/5

This movie was depressing. I didn't realise it was so cold in LA in 1929 that people always wore coats!

Angelina has too distracting a mouth for serious roles mad I could hardly watch!

I really liked it!

I just love bond.

And Gavier Bardem is absolutely brilliant!

I recommand it to everybody, go to the cinema and see it.

The Muppets (2011) - With the help of three fans, The Muppets must reunite to save their old theater from a greedy oil tycoon.

Parts were very funny, but other parts were hard to watch. star star 1/2

finally watched this on cable tv. while not the best of the best movies i've seen, watching it was fun and it had a very happy-positive ending. the movie was not full of bufoonary and stupid eye-rolling gestures. most of all i appreciated the fact that there was no madea/tyler perry bs. [i'm so tired of tyler perry madea movies]

Not to put you on the spot, but I'm curious; what parts bothered you? Other than that grating 'me party' song, I thought it was good clean fun, and really quite sweet...sentimental for sure, but in a nice way that didn't irritate me.

I thought the Muppets themselves were great. It was the regular people's interactions with them I found awkward (admittedly it must not be easy acting with Muppets, haha). And I have always had a strong dislike for the "Mahna Mahna" song so ending the movie on that note, watching the actors making overly cute faces with the Muppets perhaps heavily influenced my mediocre rating.

After posting my review I watched all the extras on the blu-ray disc and liked those more than the actual movie. I give the extras four stars.

L'année dernière à Marienbad / Last Year at Marienbad (1961) - Takes place in a chateau, an ambiguous story of a man and a woman who may or may not have met last year at Marienbad.

This reminded me a lot of the more recent Certified Copy--an 'are they or aren't they' type of mystery shot against a picturesque European backdrop. And like Certified Copy, it benefits from multiple viewings to figure it out. star star star star

Lakeview Terrace. I like Samuel J. Jackson, and I think his movies are cool. This was a portrayal of a LAPD officer who will stop at nothing to force out the interracial couple who just moved in next door .. Overall it was thematically different on the race issue, but the movie was slow. 2,5/5

Rush Hour2: Very good and funny action flick. 3,5/5

High Crimes:Morgan Freeman was good, but Ashley Judd was horrible. Very slow crime, and not watchable. 2/5

Prince I will always miss and love U.

The Hunter

The Hunter 3/5 A very slow paced movie, with some very beautiful scenery of Austrailia. Not a lot of action or dialogue, but it held my attention and made me care, which is pretty good for a movie about a man hunting down the last of the believed to be extinct Tasmanian Tigers.

The Fall - 4.5/5

I would give it a perfect 5 but for a small issue I have with the story about 3/4 of the way in.

I've watched it more than once this last week too, couldn't help myself - the opening sequence to Beethoven moves me to tears.

And little Catinca, she makes me laugh so much - the dialogue is amazing. I must find out if it was improvised.

Sunshine 3.5/5 I really enjoyed watching this for the most part, until the end got static and distorted. That irritated me. But an ideal sci-fi movie for me, no alien monsters, just humans and their psychology.
