Sunshine 3.5/5 I really enjoyed watching this for the most part, until the end got static and distorted. That irritated me. But an ideal sci-fi movie for me, no alien monsters, just humans and their psychology.

Good movie.

Mirror Mirror (2012)

Again directed by Tarsem Singh and again a feast for the eyes. Costumes especially.

Despite all the drab screencaps all over the web, this is a colourful and spectacular film.

I don't care much for Julia Roberts, but she didn't detract from this entertaining tale at all.

I watched it with a couple of boys who really enjoyed it a lot even though they thought it was a "princess movie" (They also quite liked Tangled and Enchanted lol )

Haven't watched Snow White and the Huntsman yet - should I bother? Is it too scary for ages 8. 11 & 13?

3/5

Your Sister's Sister (2012) - a guy, his late deceased brother's girlfriend and her sister find themselves in a bit of a mess of a situation. 4/5

Lynn Shelton knows how to take a simple story, add her own quirk and depth to it and make for a complete enjoyable watch out of it. excellent performances from all three actors too.

"what's that book where they're all behind the wardrobe?"

Depends on the 8 year old. 11 and 13 year old should be fine for snow white and the huntsman. But it's an ok film not great. Good renter.

3/5. Slight but enjoyable road trip movie. Understated, maybe even a little half-assed, but I thought it was very like-able.

The Fall - 4.5/5

I would give it a perfect 5 but for a small issue I have with the story about 3/4 of the way in.

I've watched it more than once this last week too, couldn't help myself - the opening sequence to Beethoven moves me to tears.

And little Catinca, she makes me laugh so much - the dialogue is amazing. I must find out if it was improvised.

thanks, a great movie

10 out of 10. I'm not a hard-core MJ fan, but the singing, dancing, and the special effects to this movie were awesome! I loved it.

i finally saw "cowboys and aliens" last night ....

unlike the avengers - i liked this one .

Original . Alittle predictable at the end but ... overall more entertaining i think than the Avengers ... which i can definately say i wont watch again ...

Colonel Angus may be smelly. colonel angus may be a little rough . but deep down ... Colonel angus is very sweet.

Baghead - 2.5/5. Indie-horror film that I think was meant to skewer no-budget film-making pretensions. The best scenes were at the beginning where they ridicule Sundance self-importance. The rest of it seemed pretty dreary to me, & not all that clever.

La règle du jeu / The Rules of the Game (1939) - Renoir's look at bourgeois life in France at the onset of World War II. An assorted cast of characters - the rich and their poor servants - meet up at a French chateau.

Very well done and near the top of many critics' all-time lists--due in large part to its historical significance. star star star star 1/2

Just saw this yesterday. I loved it! I give it a solid B+.

Sean Penn is pretty great in it, I have to say. It's a bizarre idea and it's pulled off quite well.

I should see this. Sean Penn looks like one of the older goths at the clubs I went to in the 90s.

Have you seen The Perks of Being a Wallflower yet? When I saw it I thought it was a very Carrie movie.

The Loneliest Planet (2011) - An engaged couple's backpacking trip in the Caucasus Mountains is derailed by a single misstep that threatens to undo everything the pair believed about each other and about themselves.

The trailer makes the film out to be a little more intense than it actually is, but the tension is still there once you know that something will happen on this backpacking trip that will turn the couple's relationship upside down. Beautifully shot in the Georgian mountains. star star star star

The City of Lost Children 2.5/5 I can see my movie taste has changed drastically. I saw the end of this years ago and really wanted to see the whole thing, now that I have I don't,t get the appeal. Cute kids. Just too bizarre for my taste now.

James Bond Skyfall. I would agree that this is the best Bond film of them all. 5 out 5 stars.

The movie isn't perfect, but it is extremely entertaining. The opening scenes were fast pace and exciting. The one thing I really enjoyed is that they managed to put all the cheesy aspects of the Bond series in this movie without the cheese. So, the nod to the series past -done with realism worked. For instance the "evil" character isn't cartoonish in an Austin powers way, more vendetta psychopath evil. The story is not 100% predictable. This film would be good for everyone because it reaches beyond the normal Bond audience.
