Watching Beauty and the Beast now, I'm not really buying her being a police Detective and that the Beast was a doctor. Well I'm still willing to give this show a try.

I liked Arrow more than BATB. Tell me why I can barely tell these guys apart though. Is there some kind of formula? They could be interchanged on the shows and if not for the scar I wouldn't know who was who.

I wonder if they are going to have arrow here in Australia? I love vampire diaries and pretty little liars, think I'm a teen at heart! Lol! I also really like smash and grey's.

i really like "the new normal" though i am still waiting for them to drop the ball since it's a ryan murphy show.
i am trying really hard to like "partners" enough to not kick it off my dvr, but... not so much
i am soooooo in love with "the mindy project". smart writing
might eventually check out "666 park avenue" "ben & kate" "nashville" and "go on" depending on how they pan out out.
it's rare that i do shows while they are on though. i tend to be the person everyone hates: i wait for the dvd and then watch. [Edited 10/12/12 23:25pm] Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely. - Lord Acton

I've watched a few episodes of The New Normal, and every time I see it, I think: Are we all still pretending that Ellen Barkin is a good actress? Because she really isn't. She's dreadful.

Watched BATB last night. Not great, but not bad either. I'm firmly planted in denial

I got hooked the Vamp Diaries when I was sick. Made the mistake of watching 1 episode and then had to watch the entire series on Netflix. But only because I couldn't stop looking at Damon. Elena is awful. So is her boyfriend. You can see right through the ripoff of Twilight with those two. But Damen??? Lawd have mercy...he is worth watching the other bad acting. Plus he's very environmentally active so he's a good guy too.
I never saw him or heard of him before I saw him on this show. I'm not much of a TV watcher. I heard he was on LOST but never watched that.

[Edited 10/13/12 17:42pm] As * * as Ian Somerhalder is, I cannot get past the horror of Elena and to a lesser extent Stefan. I'm firmly planted in denial

I get you. When I hear Elena's voice I want to hurl. I think she's very pretty but....
But there's nothing else with Ian in it to watch. I hope he jumps from TV to movies. "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack

So far, I think NBC has a couple of winners on their hands with "The New Normal" - even though I think it is nowhere near the comedy "Modern Family" is. Matthew Perry's "Go On" is actually better, in my opinion, because of all the goofy characters. You watch it and know it's okay to laugh at these oddballs... whereas with "Normal" it seems like they are trying to offend.
On a completely other note (and channel), I cannot wait for the debut of Season II of "American Horror Story," with a new setting and new characters - depsite some of the actors/actresses from the first season returning. It is a very innovative show that entertains in a completely different way! It returns Wednesday night on the FX channel.

i totally disagree. i saw her in "the normal heart" on broadway. her second act monologue was one of the most intense things i have ever seen in theatre. the rage in her voice and character was one of the most compelling moments of acting i have ever seen. people were crying and it literally stopped the show cold with a 3 minute standing ovation. she won a very well deserved tony for it. i am really dissapointed they are using julia roberts to play that role in the movie cause barkin owned that role in a way roberts will never even get close to. i wish you could have seen it.
her performance in the new normal is just about getting those jokes out, and she cracks me up almost every time. Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely. - Lord Acton

I saw the play. I wasn't impressed by her. Sorry.

NBC also has Guys with Kids and Chicago Fire, two shows I don't think will even make a full season.

I think I'll be watching Nashville. I liked the premiere and really liked the idea of Connie Britton as a country singer. It should be interesting. "what's that book where they're all behind the wardrobe?"

My favorite new shows
Partners - the first two episodes were terrible but I stuck with it and episodes 3 and 4 were funny. It's ratings are too low for CBS Monday standards so I'm expecting cancellation soon, but I'll watch til it's gone.
Revolution - Really intriguing serial and the highest rated scripted show on NBC, glad to hear it.
Vegas - Just awesome if you like mobsters and a 1960s Cowboy solving cases, it improves with each episode so far. Michael Chiklis from the Shield is badass and a very likeable villain.
Nashville and Chicago Fire - grouped together because they are on at the same time. If you have time to watch one new drama make it Nashville.
Arrow - Very strong start and episode 2 tonight improved on the very solid first episode.
Elementary - Johnny Lee Miller is fucking cute and his characterzation of Sherlock Holmes in 20th Century New York is funny, like the Mentalist but more rude and funny. Also stars wonderful Lucy Liu.

Watched the premier of American Horror. I'll give it a chance since this was the first episode, but I'm not feeling it as much as last season.
Although I love Jessica Lange and I love seeing Joseph Fiennes playing a priest, the episode had so many different storylines ( don't want to give any away for those who haven't seen it) it was a little too much. I know they will bring them all together but for some reason I wasn't as interested as I was last season.
So far I've given up on Revolution. Just can't get into it despite my love for Billy Burke. Arrow is okay. Won't be watching Beauty & the Beast. [Edited 10/18/12 23:05pm] "Let love be your perfect weapon..." ~~Andy Biersack

[Edited 10/18/12 23:05pm] the only thing (and this prob makes me a bad gay as i am about something other than the shallow shit) that kept me interested in season 1 was the the performances and the promise of nudity. i thought season 1 was a hot mess. if season 2 is worse, i am gonna dial out and be done with the series as a whole, same as i did glee Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely. - Lord Acton

I liked the back stories from 1. The Black Dahlia, etc. I didn't miss a show. This 2 opener seemed a bit cliched to me. The mad doctor, alien abduction, etc. Although I did like the gay and interracial themes. Maybe give young people today a better idea about how horrible discrimination was.
