Who's winter depression kicked in already

Who else is ready to kill him/herself again, but won't do it, and in stead will just feel miserable and wait till this depression pass?

wave

(I'm the first, this year!)

Or are you not impressed and not sensitive for those kind of silly stuf at all?

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Yep. Fall and Winter totally feed my soul. It's Spring and Summer that get me down.

Yep. I feel similarly, although I don't get depressed during summer--I just get annoyed at the heat and humidity.

Granted the days are shorter but the temps just got back to ideal, so nope, this is play time right now around these parts.

nah, I normally feel low in March-April

more "tired without reason, both mentally and physically" than "low" actually

I quite enjoy November-December-January-February...quiet, cold (cool) months

Mine hasn't kicked in for years. And I'm getting terribly worried about what happened to it.
TBH, at this point in time, I fear the worst.

Definite signs of gloom Vision, just accept it.

Mine's kicking right in. Not that I give a shit. I'll be laughing inanely in no time then getting back, deep deep deep undercover, so fuck it.

It started in about 1971 and is still going somethin lovely. Heavy doses of Peter Cook, Richard Pryor, my family, Robin Williams, Billy Hicks, My family, Jimi, P, Warp records, my fuckin mental family, beer, sex and far too many drugs or possibly not enough? I blame em all.

Not sure if that's the prescription or the cause yet but I'll be mentally under the duvet for a few months pondering so fuckin leave me the fuck alone for a bit, alright. And don't even mention feckin crimbo. (No offense o course.)

It's gonna get a lot worse ya know, when that dodgy album comes out... Go on Pixie, fuckin surprise us all but in a good way. I wont hold my breath though eh.

Perfect topic sad I've felt like shit since last week and had so many panicky moments including one in my car a little while ago, while sleep deprived.

I felt depressed and tired too tonight, someone freaked me out with some other shit...a part of me wants to check myself in, but I hated it there when I last went, and now that I'm coming out of a daze after being down for a few years at high levels, it's hitting me so hard that I feel like breaking something to let it out or scream sad

If you suffer from seasonal affective disorder, you should have your vitamin D level checked.

I used to have real problems with my mood in the winter. My doctor ran a vitamin D test on me - and it was 17 ng/ml. omfg The normal range is between 30 and 100 - and many doctors believe anything below 50 is deficient.

I spent the better part of a year trying to get my level up. (Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin, so it takes awhile for it to build up.) The last time my doctor checked it, it was 59 ng/ml. I'm still taking pretty large doses - because I'd like to be up around 75.

I get happy when it becomes fall because I know my favorite time of year, which is winter, is about to begin. I get depressed when spring gets here because it's no longer cold and also I know that summer, which I absolutely hate, is on it's way.

I like it cold. The colder the better and I hate it that our winters here in Mississippi are ruined with warm days sometimes. There sure as hell aren't no cold days in the summer so don't ruin the winter with warm days. lol Also, another thing I love about the fall and winter is that the daylight hours become shorter and it gets dark on the drive home. Hell, if it were up to me, it would be night time 24/7 and freezing cold all year long. lol

I love Fall too. The colours are spectacular and I agree with paintedlady that the smells are awesome too. I enjoy the Fall fashions as well.

I HATE winter. Starting around mid-Nov to mid-January I can't stand it. I'm not a big fan of Christmas either. I'm fortunate in that I go away every year in February to somewhere tropical, so that helps me get through the months I don't like. Once I get back from my trip it's only a matter of weeks before the time changes and spring arrives again.

It's a beautiful time of year, and I actually like the shorter days and being cozied up inside the house if it's not weather permitting for me to get out and do other suff boxed .

In fall and winter, there are a lot of beautiful things in simple abundance... to touch the soul more deeply than any ordinary everyday trifling circumstance, if you let it:

Harvest colors:

place settings, table setting,wedding decor,reception ideas,flowers,wedding aisles

The re-appearance of warm comfort foods that stick to the belly

A really hot coffee or tea with a good friend, but inside the cafe vs. out smile

a chance to explore some good, classic cinema nice & comfy inside the house

the feel of warm, plush, fluffy house shoes on my feet

plus,

*hanging out in large inside gatherings because it's too cold for everyboy to splinter off in different directions and bounce around here or there cool

* all the public festivals celebrating different traditions of the season

* the depper meaning behind fall/winter holidays and the promise of hope they hold within...

I don't necessarily like being out in the cold inclement weather that we know is coming soon, but it helps to make the best of the beauty we can find in it, somehow---and ultimately that helps make it a bit of alright...well that, and some extra dosages of vitamin D ... neko hug

I forgot it was time for my period.

Just before the bloody days I get heavily depressed. Because my period time varies, I'm surprised every time again.

I talked to my kid brother yesterday, and he's also struggling. Of my dad's four children, three of them are regularly depressed. Now, I have had a shitty youth, however, my two kidbrothers have had a wonderful, sheltered, warm childhood. They are both beautiful boys and blessed with friends. So, we now know it's just a family affair. This year I will make sure to call them every week, and when they feel down, I'll coach them away from their duvets and behind their study books.

Gives me something usefull to do, so I don't sink deeper and deeper under my stinky duvet.

I prefer fall and winter over summer, however still I get recurrent depression days.

I will not allow myself to spoil this coming winter with some stupid depression hmph!

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

wave You're my twin! I"m the exact same way. This past summer was REALLY rough for me. Summer in Michigan actually started in March and maybe ended about 3 weeks ago. It was literally hell on earth for me.
