What's the longest time you've been at a job?

I've been squishin' boobs and taking names at my current job for 6 years and 3 months.

I'm firmly planted in denial

I worked at the private school for 11 years, and I'm about to start my 13th school year at my current school.

I worked at a store in the mall for about 7 years...

I've been at my current publishing company for eight years, seven months. It's the first time I've ever had more than two weeks vacation time per year beginning last year.

Been technically with my company for 15 years.

("technically" b/c 6 years ago the company was bought by a larger company and we relocated, but my business card still reads the same)

I'll have been in my current job for 16 years on November 1.

I'll have been with the same company for 21 years next month.

I've been with the same company for almost 16 years.

But I've held 11-12 different titles/positions in that time. I started part-time calling people on their late credit card payments and I'm currently an IT Project Manager. lol

I think the most I've stayed is 1.5-2 years with the same title.

Wow! Y'all are like the total opposite of me. lol

This is the longest I've held the same job and I'm no kid.

Thing is, this is also the longest I've ever lived in one place (13 yrs).

I was an Air Force Brat, then joined the Navy and married a sailor, so we moved around a lot. I've been ready to leave this place for YEARS, both job and state.

I worked for a publishing company, for 6 years. Leaving that company, what the biggest mistake of my life.

I started part-time taking orders over the phone.

I probably could have moved around more, but I'm in the creative department - why would I want to move to...say...inventory? Let's see...would I rather wax poetic and sell the product...or punch numbers into a calculator... hmmm

No brainer. lol

My longer job is my current job, it was 8 years in June, although my job role has changed with promotion from what it originally was.

Before that the longest time was 4.5 years.

You all have more staying power than me, the longest I have ever stayed at a job, due to me either moving or going back into education is only 2 years. That was September 2003 to August 2005, I had to move to another city which was wy it ended. Before I found out about my mental illness and its limitations my average job length was 6 to 8 months, although the worst was 4months. I got fired from that one because my mother was on her death bed and spent 2 weeks there, also as they decided I was surplus to requirements.

Here in New Zealand, workers have no rights, if your mother takes too long to die, they fire you.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I worked my previous job for 17 1/2 years, from Dec 1993-April 2011. Had six promotions during that time and for the last four years or so that I was there, I made ridiculous money for doing practically nothing.

Then they laid us all off and only gave us a $1000 severance (before taxes). I spent 1 year and 1 month on unemployment (the longest I've ever been without a job since I was 16) and I seriously don't know how I kept my house.

Got my new gig in May 2012, hired as an "as needed" employee in the health care industry. They offered me full time on August 15th...I accepted and am positive that those folks are NEVER getting rid of me!

I'm back, bitches!
