15 ½ years with this company, 5 years in my current position, and I hope I’ll be able to stay with this role until retirement. The company is a large one, but I work for one of the smaller divisions and that's a big selling point for me. I’m in a little office rather than an enormous cubicle city with a group of people that I can tolerate for the most part, I don’t have to wear a tie or tuck my shirt in and I have a fair amount of autonomy in my day to day decision-making. I’ve had a few other positions offered to me, but I’ve passed on them and expect I’ll pass on any others that come up unless they make it impossible to refuse.

I worked my previous job for 17 1/2 years, from Dec 1993-April 2011. Had six promotions during that time and for the last four years or so that I was there, I made ridiculous money for doing practically nothing.

Then they laid us all off and only gave us a $1000 severance (before taxes). I spent 1 year and 1 month on unemployment (the longest I've ever been without a job since I was 16) and I seriously don't know how I kept my house.

Got my new gig in May 2012, hired as an "as needed" employee in the health care industry. They offered me full time on August 15th...I accepted and am positive that those folks are NEVER getting rid of me!

I'm back, bitches!

That's gotta feel good. Congratulations! cool

In my field, I get hired for a job till it's done. So, you may have ten jobs or less in a year.

But, I have been working for my company for over 15 years, but I also work for another company for about 2 years.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

Andy is a four letter word.

I worked for a university hospital for 25 years. I retired but continued working at another teaching hospital for 18 months; got a better offer at another teaching hospital and worked there about a year; got a better offer to work at a law firm and worked there for about 6 months; went back to the university hospital and worked another 7 years; left that job and was unemployed for 3 years and then went back to the university and worked another 2 years. I retired permanently in June.
