I thought the Purple Rain remake was ok, but not great.

The acting was about the same, and the "Kid' looked a bit more butched up.

I still, don't know why they had to rename the kid to "Billie" though.

And why did they change the title from Purple Rain to "Glitter"?

1. King Kong - I didn't LOVE the movie. It was too long, too loud, and just too action packed. However, it is KING KONG afterall--you don't go into a King Kong remake trying to make it more like Terms of Endearment or some shit.

2. John Carpenter's the Thing (1981). Excellent

3. Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Brilliant

4. Total Recall. The first was better, but this one paints a visually gorgeous future that is also sad--alot like the future in Blade Runner.

I think there are more, but I can't think of them

BAD ONES

1. Wicker Man -- God I love this movie. It's so bad in so many ways, that I just adore it.

2. Halloween I and II. I skipped through most of it. Mindless violence.

3. Nutty Professor - Fat and fart jokes aren't enough to save it. What did Eddie think this was, the org?

I liked that about it a lot nod I'm hoping this Blade Runner rebootie they are doing is along the same vein. I watched the original the other night to see which was better. Arnie is sooooo annoying! dead

I'm the mistake you wanna make

Outside of the whole Batman/Dark Knight thing. I can't think of any remakes that have put me in awe. Maybe I'm forgotten something.

Wait...I like True Grit.

I'll have to think about it.
