I'm a sweets addict

Hi, my name is Missfee, and I'm addicted to sweets.

I've always been a lover of sweets, mint chocolate chip ice cream, apple pastries, cookies, cheesecake, carrot cake, cupcakes, blueberry muffins, macaroons, frozen yogurt, waffle cones, strawberry shortcakes, oatmeal cookies, etc. You name it, I've had it. I know it's wrong, but it usually calls my name as I walk past it in the grocery store. "Go on ahead Missfee, you've had a hard work week and you deserve to take me home and eat me". That's usually the excuse that gets me.

Tonight at the grocery store, the same voice beckoned me. I walked around the sweets section for about 25 minutes trying to decide which lucky treat will be mine to savor once I got home. Well the unthinkable happened. I couldn't decide...I knew I didn't need it anyway and I walked away. WALKED AWAY!! I only went to the register with a salad, some grape leaves and some strawberries.

Now I'm home, I've already eaten my salad and the grape leaves but now I'm craving something sweet to eat. I know what you are thinking, "just eat the strawberries"...well it's not a pastry. It's not a cookie, it's not an apple pie. Shucks, I almost stopped by McDonald's on the way home just to get an apple pie...BUT I drove right on past it. So maybe today is my first day of sobriety.

Anymore sweets addicts out here?

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

wave Sweets addict here too. I love all those foods that you mentioned. Once I start eating them, it's hard for me to stop. I used to drink tons of Pepsi, but somehow I've managed to stop drinking it. I only drink water (with an enhancer for color and flavor) and that's it.

I know we're not alone, and there are many other people just like us. That's why places like Overeaters Anonymous, Weight Watchers, etc. etc. do so well. People always seem to want to lose just a few more inches in order to be able to fit into their favorite outfit.

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

That's why I'm trying to cut back on the sweets too. I'm terrified that if I keep eating too many sweets, the same thing will happen to me. After awhile, you do get used to not eating that stuff.

I'm addicted to sweets as well. lol hrmph I quit them about a month ago though. I can't just have one cookie or a bite of a cupcake and stop, so I had to cut them out completely neutral I crave them at times, but I just eat fruit instead and deal with it. I'd been trying to lose weight for months and it wasn't happening, despite working hard in the gym. There are other things associated with my weight problem but a poor diet sure didn't help. I'd rather feel better inside and out than eat some junk just 'cause it tastes good.

That's why I'm trying to get this under control now. Another reason is because it's keeping me from losing my last 25 pounds to reach my goal. Right now I'm stuck in this plateau stage and struggling to leave those sweets on the backburner. I was successful last night at the grocery store, but I need to keep that up.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Folks at my job do the same thing. disbelief When I'm not stressed, its easy to say no thank you, but if I'm under a deadline with major shit on my desk, next thing you know I'm heading to the break room. I have to learn how to have will power under stress.

Good for you! I get exactly what you mean. I can't just have one cookie, or one piece of candy. That's why Weight Watchers has never worked for me. lol Once slice of pizza is like 10 points which is half of what you can eat for the day, but who in the hell just eats one slice of pizza? Anywho, so far in the past year and a half, I've lost 26 pounds on my own....but I've been stuck in this damn plateau stage for the past 4 months and I'm pretty sure my sweets addiction has something to do with it. Anyway...one day of sobriety, working on day two today. wink

Tell it. I devour them too. Then right after I feel so guilty. It was good going down, but then I feel like a slob, as if I just gained 10 pounds in 2 minutes. confused

The other night I was desperate I texted the master to let him know
we'd run out of chocolate royals. He brought home a packet for me and I have them in the drawer beside my bed. I just had one boxed

I used to have a "stash" cabinet full of goodies, chocolates, cookies, etc. for anytime I needed a quick fix, it would be there, however, because mentally I know I had just replenished my stash cabinet, it would be empty again within a week. disbelief So I ended up using the cabinet for my plastic tupperwear instead.

Nah, my food addiction doesn't stop at sweets, but they are a major stumbling block for me. Cookies, cakes = carbs = breads, mashed potatoes etc.

I love the hell out of some sweets, especially chocolate, but I don't crave them. My crack is cheese. I love Mexican and Italian dishes that have lots of melted cheese, I love Rotel cheese dip, I love omelets with cheese, just basically anything with melted cheese.

Oh yeah, I'm a mouse too...I love any kind of cheese...but somehow I can get a handle on that better than sweets.

I'm a recovering sweets addict.

As a kid, I was addicted to sugar. Stems from my mom's love for the stuff. When you drank a glass of her Kool-aid or whatever, there would be 1/4" of sugar settled at the bottom of the glass.

My favorite candy as a kid (besides anything chocolate) was FUN DIP.

For those of you unfamiliar with the stuff...it's basically colored/flavored sugar that you dip a sugar stick into.

disbelief

Now I've thankfully dulled my sweet tooth. Can't eat a Three Musketeers bar anymore. I've also kicked my Coca-Cola habit (used to drink 2 - 3 glasses a day).

My only remaining bit is my morning coffee. Light & SWEET...as in 6 to 7 packets of sugar.

Other than that, I can go for days without sweets.
