10:44 AM PST: Tom's longtime lawyer, Bert Fields, just told TMZ, "The Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes case has been settled with a signed agreement. Tom is really pleased we got there, and so am I."


Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have SETTLED their divorce ... this according to Katie's lawyer.

Jonathan Wolfe tells TMZ, "This case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life."

TMZ reported in the last few days lawyers for both sides were in a marathon negotiation -- trying to end what began as a divorce war.

As we reported, one condition Tom had for settling was "meaningful, significant" contact with Suri.

Wolfe added, "We thank Tom's counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution."

Ehhh.... what? It's well known she signed an air tight prenup (which gave her nothing) and Cruise wouldn't settle the divorce preceedings until he got firm visitation rights with Suri. So, kind of exactly the opposite of her having "real dirt" on him.

Also, Scientology doesn't care what ANYBODY thinks about it. To assume that Cruise settled his divorce any particular way because of Scientology's image is ludicrous. Tom Cruise settled his legal matter quietly, quickly and out of the public eye just like he's always done. Y'all some weird, hateful type of folk.

I don't believe that at all. Here in Europe in the last days they have been in the media (newspapers, but also TV specials about them) non-stop as a totally insane cult that is extremely dangerous. Revealing stories of prominent members possibly being held hostage for years or murdered by them and children being treated like terrorists in their bootcamps. And stating how crazy the USA are to acknowledge such an organsiation as a religion. I am sure they care about that .

If you're talking about their rumoured sexual appetites Jada has always been open about that. I remember her joking before she married Will that if they didn't work out, she was gunning for Ellen DeGeneres. It's kind of an open secret that they have an open marriage of sorts.

That still doesn't make Cool any less obsessed with the Smiths to the point of me questioning whether he needs help.

Contrary to that other orger who reminds us daily that their marriage is intact I am no expert at all when it comes to the Smiths. So I did not know that Jada was open about that. Then of course there is still Will..... but l don't really care about them anyway, so what do I know . It just doesn't look like a relationship based on love to me when both partners are rumoured to be not straight, are successfull in the entertainment industry and seem to push their children into careers there as well, but that's just my opinion. And all these "look here we are the perfect couple/family" photos don't help much either.
