Fred Willard Arrested For Lewd Conduct, Fired From PBS

4:00 p.m. CDT, July 19, 2012

HOLLYWOOD (KTLA) -- Comedic actor and host of "Trust Us With Your Life" Fred Willard who was arrested for lewd conduct Wednesdy night, has been fired from PBS.

Willard, 72, was arrested around 8:45 p.m. at the Tiki Theater, an adult movie theater in Hollywood, after an undercover vice officer caught him exposing himself.

The "This is Spinal Tap" actor was taken into custody and booked on lewd conduct.

He was released a short time later.

PBS announced Thursday that Willard has lost his job as the wisecracking narrator of its new show “Market Warriors.”

LAPD officials said vice officers routinely monitor adult theaters.

Willard is best known for his roles in Christopher Guest films including "Best in Show," "For Your Consideration," and "Waiting for Guffman."
