aussie accent

sorry, it makes me laugh, HARD

so hard that I assume an aussie would say "the fock is so funny mate"? confused

lol lol lol

that said, I love to hear any accent, I love them; as long as I can understand the message, I'll never understand why somebody would want to speak other language without his/her native accent. Insane, pointless, discriminatory even confused

italian, spanish, arabic, scouse, russian, japanese, are some of my favorites...

First an Austrian/German accent doesn't exactly sound nice IMO, second it sure is easier to understand people who talk without an accent (even when you can understand them you will have to concentrate harder), and third isn't it logic that it would be great to master a foreign language without an accent?

With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

I am talking about accents in a foreign language. I don't mind my slight Austrian accent when I talk German, but I don't like my Austrian/German accent when I talk English or French.

Even though I must admit that I cannot really stand strong Austrian/German accents (when these people speak their own language), nearly all of them sound pretty embarrassing IMO boxed.

well, i feel ya, germanic accents are easy to target; of course, hearing a brit or a yankee talking german sure is funny too, lol

nod confused

But I ain't complaining, it is what it is and overall I am happy with my English these days shrug.

What is much more a problem for me is to understand the West Indian accent properly, I still have to concentrate really hard pout.

Most of them, but probably RP (Received Pronunciation) or BBC English. I like proper speech and actually can not stand the Kiwi accent, its so guttural and rural sounding. I am not too keen on Maori and Working Class Vernacular, stuff like "Thas choice" and "Do Yus'e fullas do beers", or the annoying Lancashire accent you hear on Coronation street "Ere thats our Terry that is" and "They're cold oot and they're sing ging"

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I do the same!

redface Accents fascinate me. I love jumping from accent to accent to confuse telemarketers also.

I once had a JW approach me and I threw on a "Hindu" accent and she thought I was Latino and seemed so dissappointed when I spoke , she did a 180 and practically ran from me.

I love doing stuff like that.

Third would be people from Scotland.

Yes. I love the way some New Orleanians sound.

But like Tittypants said, I like a lot of accents because I try to imitate them. Like Jamaicans but I suck at Jamaican Patois. lol

A like watching this lady, she's pretty good.

They can all be nice, but I think Russian & Polish accents are sexy, I think Australian accents are friendly & cute, and British accents are stuffy lol

Strangely, I find most American accents to be fairly unappealing except Southern

Personally, I think French accents are the most sexy. The language itself is beautiful; for example, the word for hair in french sounds so sexy!

People who speak with Scottish accents are sometimes difficult to understand. I used to work at a hospital that employed folk from all over the world. People from Asia had the most difficulty. I had a gentleman from China ask my something, and I could barely understand what he was saying. we had to write each other notes.

West Indian accents can be tricky because people from Jamaica, Guyana (well, that's in South America) Trinidad, etc. have variations of the same accent. One can actually tell if someone is from Jamaica or Trinidad. I was in love with a guy from Trinidad when I was in college, and some of the things he said crack me up. Like one time we were having a little spat and he said, "Why you lookin at me in dat tone of voice, mon?" I fell the hell out. I couldn't be mad at him anymore. Oh, and the way they leave off the th sound and say "tree" for three and "ting" for thing. It's so cute!lol
