I remember those games... and I understand what Cap was going on because it's stupid the calls they get but I think that's when the players itself had to rely on whatever strengths they have. I don't disagree that it plays a big impact though.

Sometimes you can't overcome bad calls. Mike Holmgren pretty much said that after Super Bowl XL. I remember the look on Avery Johnson's face during his press conference after the 2006 finals. Some of the calls Wade got were ridiculous - fucking refs gave him the Jordan treatment.

That Kings game/call is one of the few that I'll agree with.
For the most part we'll all just have to agree to disagree. Over the course of nearly every game there is something (or multiple things) one team or the other could have done to overcome a percieved bad call.

Now the inexperience of the Thunder is showing-they're still my team though.

I look foward to hearing how it is that the refs cost OKC this game.
LeBron is wishing it was Thursday and he had that extra day off right about now.

The 2012 NBA Finals
Game 4
Oklahoma City Thunder 98 Miami Heat 104
In a game that was critical for Oklahoma City to win in order to avoid falling into a huge hole in these Finals, they came storming out of the gate, getting up to a 17 point lead in the first quarter. But the Heat came creeping back in the second quarter, cutting the Thunder lead to just two points at the half. Then Miami took over in the second half, with Lebron James and Mario Chalmers leading the way, as Lebron scored 26 points with 12 assists and nine rebounds while Chalmers scored 25 points. However, Lebron James suffered an inury with about five minutes to go in the game and sat out during the final minute of the game.
But it's OKC that really has to be feeliing the pain right now. They blew an early lead, and while they briefly regained the lead in the fourth quarter, they had no answer for Miami's swarming defense. Russell Westbrook had a monster game for the Thunder, scoring 43 points in a losing effort, and while Kevin Durant scored 28 points, he struggled in the fourth quarter, scoring only six points on two field goals and turning the ball over twice. James Hardin had a particularty bad game, scoring only eight points off the bench. Are OKC's young guns about to succumb to the Heat, or can they bounce back and win a crucial road game to force the series back to Oklahoma City?
Miami leads series 3-1.

Y'all some of the least objective people I've ever had the privilege to discuss sports with. I mean really, I love these threads, but y'all some hatin', homer type peoples. It's like we're watching different games sometimes. Miami won the hell outta this game. Period.

Cerebus on some shit Thunder all the way
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
No yall just up Miami asses...
Fuck the bullshit..
The refs did NOT call CLEAR calls where Okl got filed.... and they called dumbass ones on Okl... FIXED game.... I aint watching NBA no more.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
First of all, I've been clear that I like both teams, but don't regularly root for either of them. I just decided to go for the Heat this year so all the haters can taste it when they win. I'd be perfectly happy if OKC won, though.
Second, like I said, I'm waiting for somebody to explain to me how the refs caused OKC to lose that game. From where I sit, Westbrook had an all-time finals game, the rest of the team never really showed up, Miami scored more points and won.

Least objective is an understatement around these parts. [Edited 6/19/12 21:07pm]

How about you chill out there a bit, ay?
Cerebus is not up anybodies ass, as you can clearly see from my last post to nursev.
Sports is not about conspiracy theories and fixed games. Y'all act like there is no oversight for this stuff. There is! It's watched and reviewed VERY closely. All the way up to a Congressional level. Presently, maybe to a Presidential level. PLAYERS decided games, not refs.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Miami still not showing me nothing for me to feed into the hoopla their just hanging in there. These all have been close games boo boo

I know you happy. | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
It's kind of freakin' me out a little bit, man. I may just have to step away from this one. I understand rooting for your team, and I understand that some people hate other teams. I hate quite a few. But when I watch them play I can still see what's going on without being blinded by either of those factors.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I'm kidding Cerebs | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
The Finals often are - usually even. So I guess all of them have been "fixed".
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Usually folks are animated no matter what goes on in the game. It's all about their favorite team. It's almost human nature for them to think the refs or someone from the other team fucked them over making it "impossible" to win. Shit happens.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Oh I knew YOU were. That's why I responded the way I did. But I'm pretty sure some other people aren't kidding one little bit.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
One word: Harden. What the hell is wrong with this guy? The better team won tonight. If u can't execute u deserve 2 LOSE.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
See, I can't get down with that. That's not how my friends, family and I watch sports, and it never has been. That's a product of the modern "everything is a conspiracy" society that's been growing rapidly since the world got so small with the internet.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
That's true. I usually don't get involved in that either but folks usually think this is normal.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
That's what I was trying to say... it's up to the PLAYERS to help win for your team, if that player or players become completely unreliable, don't count on winning a championship.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Wade with that fake back injury is just plain embarrassing.
