I perfectly understand their point about keeping their private lives are "private" as possible. But why at the expense of insulting the intelligences of their straight & LGBT fans in the process? Or could it be that the homophobia of the black communities worldwide is too great for them to take that risk?

Their white counterparts such as Ellen Degeneres, Rosie O'Donnell, George Michael, & even Samantha Fox in years past has never held back who they were/are as strongly as Freddie, Queen, & Raven are at the moment.

I never heard Freddie talk about being with a woman. With Raven it's whatever. And Queen? Eh...

their choices are their own. whether they chose to announce their sexual preference is of no nevermind to me. what they do and who they do it with is apparently very personal to them.

the major problem with being a celebrity in america is that the press and the papparazzi's suck the life out of what happiness the celebs manage to have.

i mean many places in europe, celebrities can actually go for a walk with their mate, or go shopping and just be to themselves. while here in america so many of us want to run up on a famous person just for the ahhh of it. while not even thinking of the rudeness of it all.

papparazzi says, "kiss her/him so we can sell this photo to the natl' enquirer."

i really don't blame a person of any status (famous or no) who chooses to keep their sexuality personal. and more power to those that do. i'm just saying, "who u/i do the do with in the name of love, ain't er'one's business.

That's why I got annoyed when some scream "I'm gay!" It's one thing if you're not a celebrity and you come out and deal with shit trying to live your life while others give you hell for it but then there's those that just say it to get attention for themselves. That's why when celebrities come out I'm usually like .

As I recall, George Michael was in the closet for most of his career. He was basically forced out due to legal troubles.

Neither Ellen nor Rosie came out right away either.

People come out in their own time or not...their choice.

I don't think that the conservative segment of the black community has as much influence as they had in the past though.
