My mother is from Ireland and my father is half Italian, half Native American.

I was told that running is the most effective way of getting rid of a gut...now that the weather's nice around here I'm thinking of buying some running shoes.

Anyway, yes, DO IT. I didn't do any sports for 10+ years and started January this year. I was so motivated that I overdid it and had quite terrible knee pains for some weeks. So better start moderately. Now a regular runner and gym, too. And there's is no greater high, than to go a mile more than you expected. The feeling you get when you think you can't go further, your feet are aching, and you say it 'fuck it' and run one more mile anyway... Heaven.

I ran with a friend for a few months a long time ago, and after a few weeks I could see and feel the difference.

I could use some "runner's high" right now. LOL

Chris and I both have family from the Mediterranean (Sicily and Calabria). It's one of our dreams to spend some time there.
