I used to have the Yahoo Homepage thing (different from Yahoo.com) customized to ridiculous levels. But one day I realized I rarely used any of it, so I went back to just plain old Yahoo.com
I don't care what's posted on their front page because all I use it for is searching. I've got the multi-row bookmark toolbar on Firefox with the thirty or so regular sites I use available at the touch of a button and the Wiki search box to the right of the URL. Everything else is off screen, with the tabs on the top.
Edit: Spelling, spelling, SPELLING!

#1 reason why I use Firefox and Opera is that I can set up my home page either to something connected to the site (and no news is there) or just to speed dial as it does on Opera so I won't have to see that shit.
