Comic Question. The Incredible Hulk vs. Superman - Who would win the fight?

This question was asked by a friend of mine the other day. If Marvel's The Incredible Hulk had a batter with DC's Superman, who would win.

I couldnt really be impartial on this one as I've been a big fan of the green guy since the Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno days.

What do you guys think?

I never liked either one of them. I always liked the X-Men and Spiderman.

Jean Grey with the Pheonix Force would knock the shit out of both of them.

But truthfully it wouldn't even have to go there. She could just stop them in their tracks with telekinesis.

Everytime I saw a Hulk vs Superman battle in the comics, there was no clear winner - Hulk, Superman, Thor, Juggernaut, Gladiator, the Abomination, Beta Ray Bill, the Silver Surfer are pretty evenly matched.

Jean Grey? Please. In World War Hulk, he wiped the floor with the X-Men, Fantastic Four, the Avengers and went toe-to-toe with Sentry. Hulk is strongest one there is!

Jean is the most powerful mutant in Marvel. She could destroy the Hulk with a thought and not break a sweat.

If you really want to discuss this topic 'seriously'...

Jean Grey is dead so she's not beating anyone. And when she was alive, she could not beat the Hulk. Read Incredible Hulk #336 to see what happened when she and the rest of the X-Men fought the Hulk.

The Phoenix force is a separate cosmic entity so that's not really fair. You might as well have Hulk fight Galactus.

As for the original question, the last time Superman fought the Hulk in the comics, Superman won.

Everything I hate about super heroes wrapped up in one neat package!

Superman is supposed to be indestructible, is he not? He's supposedly has a plethora of bad ass powers, right? Powerful cold breath, x-ray vision, super speed, unlimited strength, impenetrable flesh... doesn't he even have like, lazer eyes or something? Yet he gets his ass kicked all the time by puny mutant types. Oh, and don't even get me started on kryptonite. P'shh! rolleyes

It's very dated now as you can tell by Superman's mullet. And the Spider-Man that fought Superboy was Ben Reilly, not Peter Parker making the fight clone vs. clone.

The novelty about that book for fans was that they voted on the outcomes of the bigger fights. So whoever was more popular at the time won: Superman beat the Hulk, Storm beat Wonder Woman confused Batman beat Captain America, etc.

If you want to see a 'REAL' Batman vs. Captain America fight then get this book which does it RIGHT:

Was any X-Men ever part of the Justice League? I know Superman was in it, Batman, Hawkgirl, Flash, Wonder Woman, the Green Lanturn, and a few others.

Superman because he could freeze the Hulk with his breath

Superman has extraterrestrial strength so one sock would knock out the Hulk

Superman has x-ray vision or whatever so he could see all of Hulk's internal weakneses and deliver the most fatal blow

And if by chance, Hulk was really too strong....Superman could just fly away.

Depends, neither the Hulk or Superman are very consistent. One day nothing can harm the Hulk, the

next, he is being strangled by a snake and passes out.

Same with Superman, his powers and limitations change depending on era, show, or comic book.

That being said, Hulk could shove some Kryptonite up Superman's ass and I'm not sure there

is much that can be said about what would happen to Superman after that.

The real question is, would you fuck Batman or Superman? lol

The most powerful version of the Hulk is the Green Scar from World War Hulk. He wiped the floor with nearly every hero(except Thor). Fighting him would be like fighting Doomsday, Darkseid or General Zod.

It already happen during the Marvel vs. DC crossover miniseries, which in itself was a prequel to the short lived Amalgam Comics.

Superman's weaknesses:

1. Kryptonite; Green one will weaken and kill him. Red one will give him a physical and/or psychological disability. Yellow one will strip him of his superpowers. Black one will separate his good side & evil side.

2. Kyptonian DNA is vulvanable to magic of supernatural nature, hence why Captain Marvel, Black Adam, Thor, Zartana, Dr. Strange, Dr. Fate, & Dark Phoenix can actually hurt Superman.

3. Doomsday is the first and only one that actually "killed" Superman without krytonite or magic.
