Oil is one of the leading indicators for inflation...except at times like these when war with an oil-producing country distorts things... Gold is THE leading indicator for inflation, but it too is sensitive to war, so I'm not sure what the rising Gold prices indicate. Until this IRAQ business is finally done and over with...
Still, I'm guessing inflation is back. The fed is pumping money into the economy during a time when growth is NOT there to match the new money--too much money chasing too few goods--inflation. And rising gas prices would be one of the first indications...  Fear is the mind-killer. | |
