It turns out Michael Sanchez was lying unconscious off the highway ramp where his truck had been towed on May 8, KTVU-TV reported. Witnesses and the tow truck driver didn’t find any sign of Sanchez, leaving him missing for a week without any food or water. “They found the victim apparently in an area that was secluded with shade and just completely blocked from all view from anywhere on the roadway,” San Jose Police officer José Garcia told the TV station. He was reported missing by his family after he failed to show up for a funeral, according to CBS San Francisco. He was unconscious when detectives found him in a dense thicket of bushes and trees on Tuesday, CBS San Francisco reported. “The word is miraculous,” Garcia told KTVU. “The fact that this individual survived for seven days.” Sanchez had been reported in critical condition on Wednesday, but an update on his condition was not immediately known.
