I actually don't mind Pete. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

I've never watched this show. It's hard for me to watch any station that has commercials, these days.

this season sure has some interesting scenes. we have this, and before that it was Don choking a bitch! I wonder if it's to do with his random fetish for S&M last season?
as for Pete, as much as he begs you to dislike him, I still always find a way to sympathize with him because of the way eveyone pisses all over him, despite his hard work. it comes from a place of insecurity.
as opposed to, say, Don, whose often an ass just because he's arrogant and he can. remember when Pete experessed his gratitude for him merely because he showed up to his party?
I really, really felt for him at that scene. It was a very sad moment. "what's that book where they're all behind the wardrobe?"

See, thats just goes to show you how the writers went IN with this show. You really, really, really get the sense that those people emotionally invested on these characters.
Mr.Draper is as big of an asshole too, but somehow they managed to shift the audience dislike from him into other characters(e. g. Pete & Roger).
I agree, that party scene stood out like a sore thump. I bet the writers were thinking "Ok, we need to give this poor bastard a breal here already"
