UK Weather. Does it piss anyone else off every time they hear "...since records began"? Every fucking week! Also gripping my shit is the constant shock about snow in Scotland. It's fucking Scotland, what do they expect!? Move!

I´ve been wondering about that, too.
I mean, don´t get me wrong, I like England, the culture, the music, literature and films, and I like the English people but...it is definitely not a very attractive country to me. The weather is horrible, the food a bit bland, the cost of living is high and owning a car almost a luxury. But as a teenager and in my early 20s, I had dreams of moving to England (or the Netherlands) one day. The more I went to England, the less I wanted to live there. I guess most people want to go to England because their home countries are even worse. And it is difficult to get INTO the UK but relatively easy to stay there compared to other countries.
One of the reasons why I wanted to go to England is because I liked the Tripods so much. And Enid Blyton´s books and films. And British rap in the early 90s .
I wouldn´t mind living in Brighton though. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

The UK weather and culture is what it is (despite an amazing period of sunshine, and happier faces, recently), and then we still wonder why we never win at football when the World Cup swings around.

I do miss the rain apart from the little bit we had a couple of days ago I honestly cant remember when it last rained properly before that :/
I always think its funny that people always think the UK is wet and rainy when infact we are in a serious drought period... With Love there is no Death

I love the gloomy weather in the UK
But I viisted it frequently when I was a Floridan, where sunshine and beautiful warm weather is always abundant. So, the clammy, damp, dreary, cold that seeps into your bones relentlessly is sort of charming to me.
That being said, I don't think I could ever stand it year after year. I mean, I loved living in Germany when I did, but goddamnit did the winter feel like it was endless.

Since my last comment 3 1/2 hours ago (when it was grey and dull and cold), the sun is now shining in the cloudless sky and it's lovely and warm.

God I hate the weather here it's absolutely morbid. It actually makes me feel depressed that's why last week when it was gorgeous I was buzzed for the holidays..what a letdown. Makes me want to move away so bad Would you run to me if somebody hurt you even if that somebody was me?

despite the bad press, UK weather is reasonably similar to western Europe's weather...specially Belgium and France...

That's because all those places have a maritime climate - just like the coasts of Washington and Oregon in the US. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

so, it's not fair when people says the UK is the "ass of the world", where the sun never shines...

No, it is definitely not fair. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

But...but...the weather in Oregon, Washington, Belgium and North France sucks, too. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Y'know...it all depends what you like. I have a friend who lives in Seattle who just loves the rainy weather there.
The nice thing about living in a free country is that, if you don't like the weather in one place, you can always go somewhere else. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I love our weather. I love the change ib seasons. Hot summer days, cold autumnal evenings. The patter of rain on a window whilst sat with a good book. And besides, too much sun makes for a desert.

Hot summer days? If only that really were true. Okay, maybe it is true.
I, too, like the rain to read a book or watch a movie. And I particularly enjoy thunderstorms. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I realise how much I love the weather in London.
Of course, I say all of this, as I freeze my nether regions off today. I hate the weather here.
