Batman Begins Dark Knight
I love those movies 'cuz not everything is black and white and they shine light on the grey areas of culture and life. Oh, and they are entertaining as well. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

it was purly for the audance. Superman had no reason to do it. But it was a dramatic thing. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

Superhero movies are my #2 favorite, just behind Sci-fi.
I like all of them. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
I can't really think of a "best" right now.
The original Superman with Christopher Reeve tops my list only because it was one of the first movies I remember from my youth (not counting Bambi & shit) and at the time, the effects were awesome. (Didn't some kid die back then after seeing the movie and jumping out of his apartment window with a red cape?)
The first Batman with Michael Keaton was great. Batman Begins with Christian Bale was awesome.
Spawn was awesome.
X-Men was good. Not great, but good. The two sequels were progressively crappier. I'm sick & tired of Wolverine now. X-Men First Class was phenomenal!
The Hulk TV show with Lou Ferrigno was great...better than both movies so far (although I liked Ed Norton as Bruce Banner MUCH more than Eric Bana).
Thor was great, although there were too many moments of pure cheese.
Iron Man is my favorite superhero movie recently. They did an excellent job with that.
Low points;
Both Punisher movies. That was one of my fav comic book series. The Punisher needs a big, dark, dude who's a legitimate badass. Neither Dolph Lungren nor Thomas Jane could protray that. (Why choose blond dudes anyway? WTF?) Fantastic Four. I understand WHY they went the "comical" route...but I think they need a good reboot. Ad they get a for casting Jessica Alba as Sue Richards.
Storm in X-Men. Come ON!!! You have Halle Berry. Storm was one of the central characters in the X-Men comics. In the first movie, she utters maybe one or two lines in the whole damned fucking movie!!!! You barely even get to see her powers (there's the elevator scene...ooooooooooooh. Please.) Actually the whole group came across as a bunch of wusses in the first movie...except for Wolverine of course. I mean...the X-Men were one of the most powerful superhero groups in the Marvel Universe...and they got bitch-slapped by fucking TOAD. Jean Grey, for Christ's sake!!!! He nearly killed the damned Phoenix!!!!!!!! Don't get me started. That's the reason why X-Men was a good - not great - movie IMO. for the record, Halle Berry as Storm was ATROCIOUS.

Umm... the only one I took any notice of was Captain America. And that's 'cause I saw a pic on here and thought he was hot. There are a few I would like f**k. I have a superhero fetish.
That's about all I can contribute to this thread.
Please continue to post pictures. Thank you.

I'm one of the few who liked Ang Lee's Hulk. Watching the film, I could tell Lee read the comics. Banner's repressed personality, the father-son relationship, the father killing the mother, Bruce's father believing he created a monster, even young Bruce's stuffed toys is straight from the book. 1. The Dark Knight
2. Spider-Man 2 (I hate Marvel, LOVE DC...but I must give props where they are due)
3. Superman (The Original)
4. Superman Returns (I don't care what anyone says...I fucking LOVED that movie!)
5. Batman (Michael Keaton) She has robes and she has monkeys, lazy diamond studded flunkies....

Spider-Man 2 was the best of the 3.

Batman (the only truly good film of the old saga) Batman Begins The Dark Knight The Dark Knight Rises (I bet I'll like it, lol) Superman (dated but still a very important film) Superman II (Terence rocks!)
X-Men (I liked how they tried to create a realistic version of the X-Men: humans with superpowers but still suffering/acting/living/thinking like humans/real people, not like larger-than-life/semi-God characters; that said, I can see why many purists hated this...) X-Men 2 X-Men 3 (weaker, but a decent final chapter) X-Men: First Class (Wolverine Origins was atrocious)
Iron Man (basically for Robert and the colourful secondary characters)
The Incredible Hulk (2008, with Edward Norton, not great, but better than the boring 2003 version, and Hulk is my second fav superhero ever, so...)
Spider-Man (only the first movie, second part was pure cheese, and part 3 had so many plot holes that I nearly left the theater...twice)
I've seen other superhero movies...HATED them all

I liked Spawn, but it could have been better. You can't do a PG-13 rated Spawn. Has to be R.
I wasn't a big fan of the Hulk tv show. No Rhino, no Leader, no Abomination, no smashing tanks or planes - yawn.

superman II batman blade blade II iron man captain america thor THE AVENGERS the watchmen man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

2 each their own but damn man u put up superman returns on this list? and my problem with spidey 2 was everyone was knowing his identity cause that subway sequence was bullshit lol man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

The ONLY reason why I put Supes Returns on the list is because they really got his special effects and powers right. Obviously MUCH better than Supes 1-4. I wish the villian was someone other than Luthor, though.
Spidey 2...yeah, that part about all the people on the subway "promising not to tell" WAS pretty stupid. But all in all, it was definitely the best one of the trilogy.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
that's the problem with DC in general always recycling the villans. and with supes it's just embarassing with constantly putting luthor in.
spidey 3 had promise but the lack of putting venom killed it. yo if u ever watched mad tv, watch spidey 2 again on that subway and u'll see the guy who always did the UPS sketch in it lol man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Spidey 3 was killed because there were too many villains in it. Sam Raimi said the studio basically forced him to use Venom. It had 1-2 too many villains, when you count Sandman, Venom, and the Harry Golbin (who eventually turned good, yes, but still, he was a villain for most of the movie).
Speaking of Harry, why on earth did the butler wait until then to tell Harry the truth about how Spidey didn't kill his father? It was like, "Oh really? He didn't? Oh okay. Well, I guess I'll go help my buddy now. Thanks for telling me after all of these years."

it would have been cool 2 see electro on the screen and there was the lizard all the while waiting 2 burst out but nooooooooooooo let's have sandman instead 4 the bulk of the movie and slide venom in at the tail end. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

This is cheezy but most of my reasons for liking certain superhero movies/tv shows have to do with having crushes on the actors in the main character roles.
TV: The Incredible Hulk and Wonder Woman, Spiderman cartoon
Movies: Superman movies Batman and Batman Returns (M.K.) X-Men (only for Wolverine) Iron Man (R.D. Jr)
Obviously I haven't seen it yet (only 1 month, 3 days to go!!), but I'm going out on a limb and add The Avengers (I'm sure I'll be a puddle at the end)
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

I found myself nodding off watching 'Superman Returns'. Why not use Brainiac, Darkseid or Doomsday? Shit, I'd rather see one of them in the upcoming film than General Zod - been there, done that. You're about the film doing right by Supes powers - none of those stupid magic tricks from the earlier films.
Co-sign on Spider-man 2. Alfred Molina stole the film as Doc-Ock(my favorite Spidey villian). He nailed it.
