When did Ron Artest change his name to: World Peace? I was looking at Lakers game last week casually while doing some bookwork (not watching the game in earnest) and I kept hearing the announcers calling Ron Artest, World Peace; so I thought he had done some big community work or was some kind of ambassador. |

But they kept on calling him that and finally I look up and saw that on the back of his jersey, World Peace. 
When did he change it and whats the reason for the change?I think his full name is Meta World Peace, and I think he changed it not long after last year's season ended. | |
