Another gym thread

SO-!

How are we (the ones gun-ho to seriously work out these last couple of months) doing at the gym?

Who has stuck to their New Year resolutions???

Who has given up???

Who doesn't care one way or the other?

lol

I've been bad. I was good - going 3x a week - even convinced a buddy at work to join my gym so we can prod each other to get going...but these past 3 weeks have been bad. I probably have been averaging getting there once a week.

Today (again) I'm telling myself I'm getting back on track.

Yet, I'm sitting here on the Org.... whofarted

Don't feel bad pat

I'm still sticking with my healthy eating habits and all but in the past couple of weeks, its been hard getting to the gym 3 times a week. I'm made it at the most 2 times and feel very guilty about it. I was going to go today but I got some disturbing news and right now I'm disgusted and out of it. The good thing is that I didn't binge when I got home, which is what I usually do when I feel like shit...I had my baked chicken with brown rice and broccoli...but my mood hasn't changed. Hopefully I'll get to the gym Wed as planned. Right now, at this moment, I don't need a gym, I need a hug.

Besides missing all of last week for issues out of my control, I've been tearing it up @ the gym [went every night possible for a month]. I'm going tonight [I go 4 x a week]. But I'm about to switch up my workout to keep it fresh......thumbs up!

It's really all about focus imo. I feel really good when I hit the gym & empty when I don't, so it's not hard for me to go.......

I didn't have any kind of new year's resolution, but I've been slacking like crazy because school has been sucking out all my energy. sigh I need to get back to working out regularly. My anxiety has been out of control and I haven't been sleeping. I need some dang stress relief lol

i went to the gym tonight
averaging on 2,5 times a week, with healthy food throughout the whole week
My body is changing

I'm English, living in Germany and can speak the language very well.
The top cat in the gym thinks I'm strange, mostly 'cause of my accent. He likes techno. lol.
I just want to work out with my ipod on, it's annoying with the pair of us avoiding eye-contact.

My girlfriend suggested I get him some flowers, or do a techno dance routine to clear the air. (I think she was joking).

Are you sore after your workout? You may need to switch some things up.......

Yup, that's your problem. I switch things up every 2 weeks just to keep my body guessing. I turn everything up too [with the machines I use]

Hmm that sucks LOL. I always walk out feeling much better. For me, yoga and pilates help with stress a lot, but sometimes I just need to do some heavy lifting. I need that shit soon lol

Heavy lifting is my cocaine. I always feel good and sore after a power workout. Monday is upper body day. Did 100 lb. weighted dips 8 times. My triceps are still on fire.

Gotta hit the iron hard or don't hit it all, son. Whenever you're in NY, come work out with me at the NYSC on 36th & Madison. You'll feel like a new man. Tuesday is legs and lower back day. smile

I haven´t been to the gym since last Thursday.Too many party obligations on Friday and Saturday. Had a great weekend though. And my last workout was very extreme, so my muscles probably needed a break anyway ( I did biceps barbell curls with 60 lbs, dumbell curls with 24 and 30 lbs, deltoids with 60 lbs barbell, triceps pulls with 60 and some lower and upper back training and also worked on my neck with shrugs, did 180 lbs....I want to increase the weights slowly but surely in the next couple of weeks and months).

I don´t eat enough protein though. My diet and lack of rest are the biggest obstacles right now. And I hardly do any cardio at all but that is about to change.

And I should train more systematically, like maybe do a split training but I´m so incredibly busy these days so I´m glad when I can can make it to the gym at all, and I often do a whole upper body and lower back workout, and legs on another day.

I think I workout a bit too infrequently, but I try to work out at least three times a week.

Will go to the gym in about half an hour. I´m angry, I´m frustrated, I´m mad at the world, and I´m bored and exhausted and have only slept 5 hours, as usual. I better get to the gym before I explode.

I can only do 7 or 8 pullups/chinups. I used to be able to do 20 or 25 when I was younger (and much, much skinnier....I weigh 25 lbs more now, and it took me a long time to put on a bit of weight).

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I had been using the assist machine to do pullups/dips and had gotten to the point where I could do three legitimate pullups completely unassisted.

Then I stopped altogether and now I can just barely edge one out.

Do you ever buy protein powders?

When I joined the gym, I bought their store-brand mix and it was OK. Then my buddy told me to get Nitrotech and it was better.

THEN I made the mitake of walking into GNC...the dude talked me into buying this;

Expensive as hell, but it tastes GREAT.

Really, don't bother with that stuff. You're way better off by eating some canned tuna, avocado's and nuts, or cottage cheese.

I use the same thing. But lately have sort of weaned myself off of it and been eating foods in high protein instead. Does the same thing and is less expensive.

My body is feeling nicely petite right now. I'm down to 8 stone 7lbs (I haven't weighed this for a long time) I have 7lbs to go and a little more toning up... then i'm going to have the bestest clothes-shopping trip EVER.

I'm not the most beautiful woman in the world, and I certainly don't have the best body... but i'm feeling very damned good about myself right now.
