Daniel Bryan blogging on how his girlfriend can be a better Diva.

- The official Facebook page for World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan has a new blog up on ways he thinks girlfriend AJ Lee can be a better Diva. Here's what he wrote:

I wanted to publicly share some things that AJ can do to make herself a better Diva:

1. Be taller. Not sure how? How about trading in those Chuck Taylors for a nice pair of heels?

2. Adopt a strict vegan lifestyle to stay mentally and physically fit. Maybe if you stop eating eggs, you’ll stop walking on eggshells all the time.

3. Highlight your beauty through silence. Be seen but not heard.

4. Focus on inspiring others as a role model, exhibiting real beauty on the inside and outside … like me.

5. How about trading in those skulls you wear on your clothes for the butterfly of the Divas Title?

6. Remember that “gamer” really means “loser couch potato”.

7. Only champions have enough discipline to not get fat from eating vegan animal crackers. Please stop asking me to share and buy a second box.

8. Just consider that Pokemon is a silly children’s game and will prevent people from taking you seriously.

9. To create a constant glow, fill yourself with the blissful reality that you are dating the World Heavyweight Champion!

I'm really starting to dig all that I'm reading about Bryan Danielson's new attitude.

Is it worth it to tune into Smackdown just for him?

Sunday Blog, Twitter Questions Addressed, Order JR's Online at WWEShop.com

Posted in:

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Thought I would address some Twitter questions in this blog. I updated our Q&A section of this site earlier today. Let's roll...

"Is your sauce good?" Even though there are tons of positive feedback from many satisfied customers on Twitter, etc, I get asked this question daily. Obviously, we think that we've developed a great line of products. They aren't 'gimmicks' but if you have doubts about ordering a single bottle to give it a try then don't. Online only at WWEShop.com

One match that you would have liked to have announced but didn't? There are many but Hogan vs. Andre at WM3 would make the list. There are Flair vs. Race matches that I would have liked to have called too. Add Jack Brisco vs. Dory Funk, Jr one hour draws to the list.

Does Khali have knees? Yes, two bad ones.

Will your products be sold at WM28? Not in the stadium but at AXXESS Thursday thru Sunday at the WWE Merchandise Stand.

Did you have a script for calling King vs. 'Andy Kaufman' on Man on the Moon? Yes, a short one that was discovered by Director Milos Forman to be insufficient so I ad-libbed most of it and Milos loved it. That's why some of my catchphrases made the movie.

First wrestling broadcasting role model? Gordon Solie. But equally so was Ray Scott, Chris Schenkel, Curt Gowdy, Harry Caray, Jack Buck and of course Keith Jackson.

Why won't you make WM28 predictions? I have too many dogs in the hunt with several of our 'recruits' competing. Why would I hurt their feelings?

Who gets booed at WM28 in Miami, Rock or Cena? I can't see Rock getting booed in his hometown can you? This is a 'road game' for Cena and should be explained as such by the announcers. I assure you that Cena could care less as he just wants/needs to win.

Do you have plans to write a book? Yes, but I have no timeline. It might not be too popular in some circles if I tell it all. If something happens to me before I get around to it, my wife knows where all my years of notes are kept. Perhaps she can facilitate someone to handle the task.

Did Undertaker request that you call the HIAC match at WM28? I have no idea if that's remotely true as it came to my attention via the internet. I've spoken to no one about that matter. Likely just another rumor.

Do I consider calling the @TheRock vs. Hulk Hogan ten years ago at WM18 in Toronto a professional thrill. Yes, but it's become larger in later years because of the significance of the performance of each talent. I'd like to think that I added a little something to the presentation but if not one can always watch it with the sound muted.

Will Wrestlemania ever be held in the UK? Officially, I have no idea. Unofficially, I seriously doubt it. The time zone difference to make WrestleMania live in North American is an obstacle that can't be overcome easily.

Will you ever go to TNA? I wish them the best and hope that they achieve success and profitability but I have no interest in working there. I'm a WWE guy and when that's over with I'll explore other non wrestling options.

Will WWE ever build a HOF/WWE Museum building? I think so. Not sure when or where but I think it's inevitable.

Who would you like to see in Taker's last match? Depends on when it will be and who's hot. I don't see that happening for a while but a Cena vs. Undertaker bout down the road is likely.

Do you like Celebrity WWE HOF awards? Why not? They're an honorary award and have nothing to do with true WWE HOF'ers nor do they prohibit deserving HOF'ers from being inducted. I'm amazed that more people don't 'get it' when it comes to the proverbial 'Celebrity Wing' of the WWE Hall of Fame. It's a PR tool.

Was Dusty in his prime more 'over' than the Rock in Miami? Arguably. Dusty in his prime in Florida was as hot as anyone ever in sports or entertainment. It was just before the proliferation of cable TV, social media, etc but Dream was truly huge.

Is A Train returning to WWE? I first heard about Matt Bloom perhaps returning to WWE online and I have zero talks with WWE or the talent about this rumor. The talent says that he isn't. I don't know but I signed Matt originally and hold him in high regard. Big, smart, and athletic. He would be a good 'get' if he's interested.

Are more Legends of Wrestling Roundtables on deck? I hear that perhaps another two shows will be produced in May but that's not confirmed nor do I know the topics or if I will be included in the panel. Roundtables are WWE On Demand's most popular shows.

Why do you talk so much about sauce on Twitter? We're trying to build a family business. I use Twitter to help with that project. Who else is going to promote our family of products? If they were rotten tasting gimmicks I'd lay back but they're fantastic products which is why we have so many repeat customers. If one is offended by my promotion on Twitter just unfollow. I think that I provide lots of other info @JRsBBQ which can be reaffirmed if one simply reads our timeline.

Is Jericho too personal with his attack on Punk re: alcoholism? It's show biz folks. Personal issues draw money and interest in the genre. It always has and always will. Alcoholism is a serious illness. It's affected many of us but don't confuse real life issues with a sports entertainment storyline. Enjoy it or turn the channel.

Will you ever return to Raw full time? Likely not. However, I'm a team guy, as I've said many times, and will do whatever it is that WWE needs for me to help them be more successful. Not being on the road over 50 weeks a year isn't offending me.

Is FCW available on TV outside Florida? I think not but it airs on the Brighthouse Cable Network in Florida Sundays at 6 pm. Others may know the answer to this one.

Will you do more commentating on FCW in the future? I wasn't expecting to do any commentary the last time I was in Tampa but I did and had a blast. If I'm needed, of course I will but that's not my call.

What's the best match that you ever called? Can't name one...too many to choose from. Some day I will hopefully stop getting this question.

Why don't you answer all the questions you receive on Twitter? Time restraints, volume, and the fact that MANY questions have been answered on our blogs on this website but many folks don't take the time or are too lazy to read them.

Do you have any interest in the proposed movie re; Coach Barry Switzer? Absolutely! I hope that I can audition for a role such as a radio announcer, football official, assistant coach, etc.

Do you follow England's football? No but I respect the game and the passion of the fans. I watch occasionally but have no favorite team.

Why do you think that the Oklahoma Athletic Commission is misguided? Because WWE isn't a combat sport and should not be governed like MMA or Boxing. WWE is closer to the Harlem Globetrotters or the Ice Capades than it is MMA. However, I do think a resolution to this ill fated matter is closer than most think.

Do you 'hate' Michael Cole? Last time....no...he plays a fictional character on an entertainment TV show and is not supposed to be embraced. I also don't believe in the Easter Bunny.

What's the best match you personally ever participated in? Honestly, none really stick out. I never wanted to be a 'wrestler.' Nor do I enjoy the occasional in ring misadventures that I've encountered. However, being in the ring as a 'wrestler' in Madison Square Garden was a big thrill, more of an honor, and I appreciated that opportunity. I just always felt that I wasn't a very good in ring performer and was better suited to do play by play.

Will the WWE Title bout go on last at WM28? Not this year in my view. That's Rock vs. Cena's spot or so it would seem. I hope that the WWE Title bout goes on somewhat early so that there's less likely to be any timing issues on Punk vs. Jericho.

Where do you think Manning goes now? Peyton will go to either Tennessee or San Francisco if I had to make a call. I think Denver is out of it but I'm merely guessing. I'll be glad when this never ending tale ends. Feels WWE storyline driven as in it is the lead in for the NFL Draft or so it seems.

Why don't you answer my questions? Because many your questions can easily be answered simply by Googling them. Don't be lazy.

Are you on Yahoo Sports Radio at the same time each week? Yes...Saturday mornings at 10:30 central time and you can listen online at http://www.yahoosportsradio.com. You can also find it on their site's podcast area.

How do we get JR's in Wal Mart? Not sure but tweeting @walmart and @walmartspecials with great frequency won't hurt. Request, demand and ask for JR's to become a part of Wal Mart. We might get lucky.

Fav Divas bout? Many that I've liked but Trish vs. Lita and Trish vs. Lisa Marie were two that I can easily recall. I was proud of how athletic and tough our Divas were back in the day. Hopefully, today's Divas will earn the same amount, if not more, of notoriety as their predecessors.

Has Rock spoken to you about calling his WM28 bout with John Cena? @TheRock doesn't make those calls but the answer is no. I haven't spoken directly to Rock in a good while as he has his hands full preparing for @JohnCena and managing a movie career.

Do you miss announcing with King? Sure. But that's not my role at this point in time. Jerry and I had a great time working together and, I think, brought out the best in each other. I wasn't as effective after leaving Raw and becoming Todd Grisham's sidekick as I was working with the King. I'd like to think that King and I had natural chemistry plus the product we had to work with in the Attitude Era, not because of the era, but because of the talent base made our work a great deal easier.

What advise do you give wannabe wrestlers? Get an education first or have a viable trade so that Plan B is attainable/available as most won't make it in the wrestling biz. Plus, get great, wrestling training while being in the best physical shape one could attain in a legal, common sense manner. always make good out of the ring decisions. Provide management no reasons to not consider you because you were a knucklehead.

Who provides the ring names for the talents in FCW? Not sure...Larry Flynt? Vivid Video? Only kidding as I really don't know but there are some dandies down there.

Who's on your Mt Rushmore of Wrestling Broadcasters? Solie, Heenan, Monsoon, Russell, and McMahon.

I don't get it. How can @ShawnMichaels 'steal' the HIAC match at WrestleMania? Because he's HBK and that's what he does. He can't help himself. How Shawn does it this year as a referee is something that I can't wait to see. It is WrestleMania and he is Shawn Michaels. You do the math.

Most underrated pure athlete you can recall in WWE? Hmmm, there are many but Billy Gunn would be near or at the top of the list thinking just off the top of my head. Amazingly gifted athlete in multiple and diverse sports who possessed many skills.

Can you see Jericho winning the WWE Title at WM28? Of course, but it won't be easy. Love the chances that this match steals the wrestling spotlight on the April 1 PPV. It's too close to call for me.

That's it for now but you can order JR's 7 days a week at http://www.wweshop.com/Category/JimRoss as we prepare for WM28 paties, grilling season, and gift giving notwithstanding every day use. Thanks so much for helping us build our family business.

Be sure and take just a moment to read our blogs here on the site. You're here so why not?

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by. Never doubt how much we appreciate your support and each and everyone of you for being a fan.

Cena is scheduled to meet with WWE medical personnel when he arrives at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center for tonight’s WWE Raw SuperShow event.

Former TNA Employees Discuss Randy Savage's Run - Was Drunk Backstage At Pay-Per-View

Four new chapters from former Barbaric Wrestling Radio host Brett Buchanan's The Genesis of TNA free e-book have been released on BarbaricWrestling.com and TNAbook.net. The new chapters are about Randy Savage's infamous brief TNA run, Dusty Rhodes, Monty Brown, and Chris Candido's death. You can find all 14 chapters that have been released thus far simply by entering 'The Genesis of TNA' section on BarbaricWrestling.com. New chapters are released every Monday, and there are still 12 to go. Also check out some free shoot interviews with many wrestlers and MMA fighters including Rob Van Dam, Samoa Joe, Rampage Jackson, Jay Lethal, and many more to come on Barbaric Wrestling Radio's YouTube at youtube.com/user/BWRofficial. Below is an excerpt from The Genesis of TNA 'Chapter 11: Randy Savage, DDP, Nash & Hall' about Randy Savage's late 2004 TNA stint, which included his final match ever at Turning Point 2004.

Kevin Nash and Scott Hall were not the only talent to debut at Victory Road, the show closed with the debut of "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Savage wound up only staying in TNA for one month but he made quite the impression backstage. Savage first quit the day after he debuted only to return the next week; he was also rumored to have turned down a fight with Hulk Hogan backstage at Victory Road and hired a bodyguard after the incident. At Turning Point 2004 Savage was set to team up with Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles against the Kings of Wrestling, but the Kings kidnapped him before the match. Savage eventually ran out at the tail end of the match in a long sleeve shirt looking out of shape, he threw some weak punches and put Jeff Jarrett in a headlock before falling down on him and pinning him.

RUDY CHARLES: It was pretty cool to have [Randy Savage] there. My understanding was he wanted to win the title, coming in. I don't know the whole story behind it, but something happened and he was there one month and gone the next. So I'm not exactly sure what happened, whether it was over the title thing or not. At least it gave TNA video clips to use of the Macho Man.

SONJAY DUTT: It was cool being in the ring with Savage and meeting him and what not and stuff like that. I don't know what he did, was he in there for more than a week for something? [Turning Point] is where he won with a punch to the face, it was unbelievable awesome stuff.

SCOTT HUDSON: Randy is exactly like he is on camera. That was the only time I had a chance to work with him, but I know that what you see on camera, he's not talking about that same sort of stuff but he's wound that tightly. He's very much a perfectionist guy, you don't mess around. He wants to know what you're going to say, how you're going to say it, what word is your cue out and all of that.

BILL BEHRENS: First of all Randy is extremely limited and he drank all day. The first time I had to send him to the ring I literally had to help him up the ramp, he just had to be seen at the end of the show, that's all we needed. I'm trying to get a cue from the truck when because I know he's not going to get out there easily. I literally finally just called the cue myself because I knew it was going to take him awhile because once he was at the top of the ramp I couldn't walk him out. I had to hope he could get out there himself. He did that spot then he did an in ring spot where he couldn't hit his own moves and he couldn't throw a punch bless his heart. Then after that he was supposed to do another spot an actual match, and he went to Jerry Jarrett and said I won't do it unless I win the title. Jerry Jarrett talked to him and talked to him and then left the meeting came to me and said: this man is insane. That pretty much was the end of Randy's run.

PETEY WILLIAMS: I don't think [Savage] did much for the company honestly; literally he was there for like a PPV and maybe two TV shows. I think he was there for honestly a month, I mean he didn't do much. I remember Christopher Daniels asked him he's like, Mr. Macho Man or whatever you called him, Mr. Savage, we have a match and I'm going to do a top rope elbow, I just wanted to make sure that's okay with you. He's like brother more power to you because I can't do it anymore. I mean Macho Man's great, just hearing him talk and stuff like that, I'm like this is what this guy is like in real life.

BILL BEHRENS: I only had to deal with him once he got to the go area and that was enough of a challenge. The rest of the time he would, Bruno and Tilly who eventually joined the company had some kind of hookup where they used to bring a big trailer gimmick. The stars, particularly the most dysfunctional stars, would go in that and pretty much just drink. Randy was one of the guys that did that, so his run was bad all the way around. It made it clear that there wasn't going to be a good final run that Randy Savage would have in wrestling.

1. I refuse to believe that Macho hired a bodyguard to protect him from Hogan.

2. WTF was Hogan doing backstage at Victory Road in 2004?

Also...Lord Tensai is Prince Albert, the A-Train. No more BAD INTENTIONS, no more New Japan, no more record setting IWGP Tag title run...back to easy street. disbelief

Japanese fans were in an uproar this weekend (I guess the rumor hit there first). Train tweeted "No WAY!" or something like that, claiming he only left New Japan temporarily due to his wife having a baby. He was quoted as saying "I will be on the next New Japan tour."

Guess he just had to keep it secret....

I'm upset to see that Bad Intentions will be no more, because they were fucking fantastic!

Giant Bernard improved immensley in NJPW. When he was in the WWE, he was just another guy, now he's arguably the best Big Man in Wrestling.

People who knew him in the WWE, but didn't watch him in New Japan are gonna be pleasantly surprised at how good he's gotten.

Yeah, I've heard nothing but good things about him since he's been over there. His last WWE venture left a bad taste in my mouth, especially as a part of T & A. Ugh.

I like how he's steadily tweeting his denials of re-signing with the company. He should know by now that there isn't such a thing as a secret in this business in this day and age.

WWE Inc.

Danielson crafted his wrestling talents in independent companies, including Ring of Honor, for many years before he signed with the WWE. He left Aberdeen after his high school graduation party to train at the Shawn Michaels Academy in San Antonio, Texas, in 1999.

Bryan Danielson never thought the day would come, but his life and professional wrestling career changed forever in December.

When Danielson stood atop the World Wrestling Entertainment announcer’s table in Baltimore, Md., holding the World Heavyweight Championship title belt above his head for the first time in his career, it signaled the Aberdeen native’s ascent to the top of the professional wrestling world.

On April 1, Danielson — known professionally as Daniel Bryan — will take part in one of two championship title matches in the WWE’s yearly signature event, Wrestlemania XXVIII, in Miami.

The match against Sheamus for his World Heavyweight Championship will be Danielson’s biggest of his career and it’ll highlight the long road the 30-year-old traveled to get atop that announcer’s table and to Miami.

“It was crazy,” Danielson said of his championship night. “I’ve been doing this for 12 years and a lot of people thought I couldn’t succeed at this. It was vindication, that I reached the top. When people are doubting you that much, sometimes you doubt yourself. It was more retrospective — I can’t believe I went through all of that and I’m at this moment.”

The road for Danielson, who stands 5-foot-9 and 185 pounds and is known as a submission specialist, started out 12 years ago when he left Aberdeen for San Antonio, Texas. The road began in his family’s backyard in Central Park.

The Backyard Championship Wrestling was a friendly wrestling league between Danielson and his middle and high school friends — Evan and Kristof Aho, Tony Sajec, Skyler Parker and Mike and Jake Dove — that allowed them to wrestle each other and create pro wrestling personas before they watched televised wrestling shows every Monday night in the 1990s.

The Central Park home doesn’t have the holes he and his friends created during their matches anymore, but the memories are still there.

“There used to be a huge hole that Bryan created with his back, more of an egg-shaped gap,” Kristof Aho said. “There were holes where someone’s heel would go through and other scrapes. It was a lot of fun. It is fun to watch (tapes) again, seeing all of the spots where we’d wrestle. How (Danielson’s mother, Betty) would let us do that for so long, I don’t know.”

Once Danielson graduated from Aberdeen in 1999, he had already convinced his mother that it would work out for him to travel to San Antonio and train at the Shawn Michaels Wrestling Academy. He worked two jobs to pay for the school and other expenses.

“All of us talked about being professional wrestlers, but no one was serious; we were more worried about (college),” Aho said. “Then, all of a sudden, Bryan told us he was going to Shawn Michaels’ school. After our senior all-night party, he loaded up his car and drive to San Francisco, then to San Antonio.”

From there, it was a quick start in the ring — training at the Academy and wrestling in the Academy’s house shows in the Texas Wrestling Alliance, then working out in front of WWE scouts after a trip to Japan and a tour with Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling as the “American Dragon.”

Danielson eventually signed a developmental deal with the WWE at the end of his time at the Academy and was on his way — until the pro wrestling industry downsized.

Detours on the road

In early 2001, WWE bought Atlanta-based World Championship Wrestling from Turner Broadcasting, ending pro wrestling’s biggest modern rivalry and consolidating the top of the industry into one company.

With an overflow of wrestlers from both promotions, Danielson was released.

“I moved back to Aberdeen, started going to school and working two jobs, one of them at Video Tonight,” Danielson said. “I figured that I would go to school, prepare for life outside of wrestling and be able to work on the weekends, get in some shows in the Northwest and in Canada.”

One of the independent wrestling shows Danielson worked on was in Hayward, Calif. — All-Pro Wrestling’s “King of the Indies” tournament in 2001. The promoter, Roland Alexander, paired Danielson with Lacey native Brian Kendrick in the first round and the duo put on a wrestling display that impressed pro wrestling legend Nick Bockwinkel, who was in attendance.

“I wasn’t supposed to win the match, but we put on such a good match that Nick went up to Roland and told him that ‘that kid should win this tournament,’” Danielson said. “Roland offered me a job to wrestle and train (at APW), gave me a good salary on top of that and the flexibility to do my indy bookings.”

It was the break Danielson needed. In 2002, he joined up with Pennsylvania-based promotion Ring of Honor, which is considered the world’s third largest wrestling company, and set out as a globe-trotting wrestler.

Lessons on and off the road

With Ring of Honor, Danielson traveled around the world, especially to Japan and England. He eventually moved to Las Vegas and also purchased his mother’s home in Central Park, allowing him to come back for short trips to unwind and get away.

“He’s the same exact guy from 12 years ago,” Aho said. “He’s a little more outgoing than what he was, but hey, he’s a professional wrestler. He’s a small-town guy.

“He reads a lot; there are stacks of books around the house,” Aho added. “At home, he works out, reads, plays with his dog, Asparagus. That’s what he does here, even chops wood for the house and works in the yard. It is pretty simple.”

On the road, Danielson crafted his wrestling style in front of both intimate and large crowds in small venues.

“Confidence, I’ve been in just about every possibility imaginable in the ring,” Danielson said of what he learned as an indy wrestler. “What (those matches) do is instill in you confidence that you can go out there and do your job and perform. I’ve been in the ring when a wrestler snapped his leg during a match. I’ve been in the ring when a fan runs in, with no security and the only one there to help you is your opponent.

“I’m confident now, because I’m really good at what I do and that is so important,” he added. “I’ve evolved into a pretty good wrestler and it wasn’t always that way. I realized that I was tough enough to stick it out and work at it.”

Danielson considers himself lucky that during his career, he hasn’t suffered a long-term injury that could have kept him out of the ring for a long period of time.

If he did have a long-term injury as an independent wrestler, it could have been a career-ending situation. There’s no money to be made when you are injured, he noted.

However, there is a steady paycheck and medical crews on site to help out the WWE wrestlers.

“I’ve been very fortunate in that respect,” Danielson said. “There were years when I’d wrestle more matches than guys in the WWE. In England, you’d have 6-7 shows a week. In Japan, five shows a week. If you get a minor injury, you wrestle through it, because you don’t want to spend the money to go to the doctor. You don’t know when you’d get paid again.

“On site (in the WWE), there’s a doctor and trainer, who’ll stretch us out before and after the matches,” he added. “That’s the biggest difference. I’m 30 years old now and I have to do more stretching, more yoga, just to keep my body healthy. It is interesting, because my body feels better than what it did in 2009. When you are at this level and your income improves, I’ve been able to take care of myself better. You have the people and the money to do that.

“Financially, I did well in the indies, but when you are hurt, you have to make those kinds of decisions.”

Back in the WWE

Danielson noted to his family that if nothing went right for him by the end of his Ring of Honor contract in 2009, he would step away and begin his post-wrestling life.

He had a tryout with the WWE in 2008, but nothing materialized. At the end of his Ring of Honor contract, he was contacted again by the WWE and this time was signed in September, 2009.

In a pre-contract physical examination, Danielson learned that he had some significant health problems that needed to be taken care of — including high cholesterol and elevated liver enzymes.

“I had always eaten pretty well, lots of vegetables and lean meats,” he said. “But then, all of a sudden, I had all of these issues. One of the best things to take care of that, my doctor told me, was to become a vegan.

“When you do it smart, you’ll miss out on some vitamins, but you are healthy,” he added. “I feel great. I’m eating foods that are easy for the body to digest and I use all of the spare energy.”

The revelation would also feed into his in-ring persona as a bad guy (aka a heel, in wrestling terms).

One of Danielson’s strengths is his connection to the fans, to get them to cheer or boo him in order to advance the storyline. Danielson morphed into a heel, touting his health to being a vegan and, with a bit of arrogance, how much of a better person he is.

“I never thought (being a vegan) would turn me into a bad guy,” Danielson said. “‘Hey, this guy doesn’t eat meat.’ The way we’ve (incorporated it) it has been kind of fun. It is the personality that makes people hate me — winning my matches by disqualification, cheap ways to win, claiming I’m a role model because I don’t eat meat. It all gets under people’s skins.

“I’ve always loved being a bad guy; there’s something more fun about it,” he added. “It always makes me smile. Now, I’ll hear my music and (the crowd) instantly starts booing. I have to keep myself from laughing, because it makes me happy.”

Wrestlemania and beyond

On April 1, Danielson will step out onto the elevated stage in front of several thousands of people at Sun Life Stadium in Miami and to millions of fans on television.

Last year, Danielson and Sheamus were supposed to meet in one of the opening matches at Wrestlemania. However, the match was moved off the pay-per-view schedule, thus giving this upcoming match a bit more urgency.

“I’m not nervous about the match, but I’m excited about the experience,” Danielson said. “We’re not afraid to hit each other. Some guys like to fight. I like to fight. Sheamus was a bouncer for years. There’s something about being in front of a large crowd and getting hit. It fires you up.

“We want to steal the show, even with Rock vs. Cena (on the card),” he added.

In the ring, Danielson wants to stay where he’s at, headlining shows and working in storylines that create public reactions.

“I’d like to stay at this level, but become a (John) Cena or a (Randy) Orton — one of the faces of the company,” Danielson said. “I have to transcend the guy who is there at the moment to being ‘The Guy.’ I want to be that guy, like CM Pink is becoming.”

Aho gave a little glimpse as to what Danielson would like to do once he’s done in the ring.

“He told me one time that when he’s done wrestling, he wants to pick strawberries for a living,” Aho noted. “He doesn’t want to do it at any pace, just whatever pace he wants. He wants to come home and fix the yard, come back to Aberdeen and just live his life.”

For now, Danielson is leading the company as one of its two main champions. The other champion is CM Punk, who wrestled with Danielson in ROH and shared the ring many times.

In fact, Danielson has a picture of himself with the World Heavyweight Championship belt and CM Punk and his WWE Championship belt from that night in December.

“I joked with him that the two of us wrestled for 45 minutes in front of 30 fans in Florida in 2004,” Danielson said. “We’ve wrestled in front of minuscule crowds before this and now, we’re two of the biggest champions in the WWE.”

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson set for WWE return

Dwayne Johnson's latest movie just topped $300 million in worldwide grosses. He's laid the smack down on Hollywood and become an in-demand action star for hire.

But the next time someone barks, "Action!" Johnson will slip back into his most famous role yet: The trash-talking, trail-blazing, jabroni-beating wrestler known simply as The Rock.

Think an established superstar actor like Brad Pitt would risk getting his teeth knocked out for a run in sports entertainment?

The Rock, who rose to stardom in the wrestling business, says there's nowhere else he'd rather drop The People's Elbow than in the ring. The Rock returns to the WWE for his first WrestleMania match since 2004 when he headlines the April 1 card against former champion John Cena at Sun Life Stadium in Miami.

For a company once home to Hulk Hogan and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, this bout is as close as it gets to a dream match. Catchphrase-chanting, die-hard pro wrestling lovers are revved up about the return of The Great One. Casual fans, too.

"I came back to put on the biggest match of all time," Johnson said. "That's all I want to do.

There's no one I can do that with right now other than John. He's far and above everyone else in terms of popularity. He's the guy. Is he Stone Cold? No. Is he Hogan? No. But he is John Cena and he's been on top for a long time now."

Johnson reigned in that top spot at the end of the 1990s and the early part of the last decade before embarking on an impressive run in Hollywood. His current film, "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," grossed $95 million in its first six weeks domestically and reached $300 million worldwide.

His previous movie, "Fast Five," made more than $210 million in domestic grosses, proving that Johnson knows how to rock the box office.

All that big-ticket drawing power is why the WWE believes he can attract more than a million pay-per-view buys (at $54.95 a pop) in his return singles match.

"They know that I'm back, not for money, not because I like being on the road, but because I love the business," Johnson said. "The energy level is different this time around, the connection is more emotional this time around."

Sitting in the Wells Fargo Center seats hours before 18,088 fans packed the place for Monday's live "Raw," Johnson reflected on a career that took him from $40 paydays and Waffle House meals to his choice of top movie roles and a lavish $3.4 million pad in South Florida.

His stories are interrupted by visits from today's WWE crew.

Sheamus, a rising WWE star, had a brief chat with The Rock.

"Great match on Friday," Rock says. "I texted Chris (Jericho) on Friday. You guys killed it. That boot at the end, that was awesome."

Sheamus smiles and appreciates the feedback.

"Thank you, Rock."

The Rock says, if the boys in the back are resentful he slid into the main event without toiling 200-plus days last year on the road, he hasn't noticed.

"The best part of me coming back is hearing them say, `You've inspired me, thank you,"' Johnson said. "That's the greatest compliment that I can get. It's so cool man. They don't talk about movies. They don't talk about other matches. It's just, `You've inspired me."'

On screen, Cena has a contrasting take.

"I was a fan in `99. I'm not a fan now," Cena said. "I don't know what he's got going on upstairs."

The Rock returned to Vince McMahon's empire last year as WrestleMania's guest host, but couldn't help but get physical in the main event. He dropped his finishing move, The Rock Bottom, on Cena which allowed WWE champion The Miz to get the pin and retain his title. The next night on "Raw," Cena and Rock agreed to a bout for this year's signature event, a bold and risky yearlong push for a company where real injuries often fracture fantasy storylines.

Johnson's return boosted Wrestlemania's buy rate to 1,042,000 worldwide -- the first time it topped a million in three years and seventh time overall.

The Rock wrestled for the first time in 7 1/2 years when he teamed with Cena at November's Survivor Series pay-per-view against Miz and R-Truth.

The temporary alliance disintegrated and the duo have engaged in verbal battles for most of the last two months. Cena tweaked Rock's catchphrases in a rap song. Rock strummed the guitar and sang his own tune about where he wants to stick his boots at Wrestlemania. The two have gone back-and-forth on Twitter. It's a unique twist on hype -- far removed from the ferociousness of Roddy Piper bashing Jimmy Snuka's head with a coconut.

"We've been griping like two little kids now for about a year," Cena said. "Now, everybody wants to see us fight."

Cena and Rock top a card that includes WWE champion CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho, "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. the Undertaker in a steel cage, and Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres vs. Kelly Kelly and "Extra" co-host and current "Dancing With the Stars" contestant Maria Menounos.

Like Johnson, Jericho has found mainstream success as an author, lead singer of the band "Fozzy," and reality TV and awards show host. Jericho said few people have Johnson's oversized personality to transition into all forms of entertainment.

"I know just how much firepower Rock has," Jericho said. "I think people forget sometimes how good he is."

Fans have tuned in, though not quite in the monster numbers of Johnson's "Attitude Era" heyday. The March 12 "Raw," averaged 4.82 million viewers (4.97 million watched the second hour of the show) which bested the highest-rated NCAA tournament cable game, Kansas vs. Purdue (4.43 million viewers).

Johnson has committed to appearing at next year's WrestleMania at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. In what role, he hasn't said.

It's clear if the WWE wants to squeeze another potential blockbuster buy rate out of the Rock, the last man standing to get the headline match would be the return of former WWE and UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.

How about it: Brock vs. Rock at WrestleMania 29?

"I'm not saying a thing," said a laughing, grinning Rock, eyebrow raised. "I didn't say anything."

The Rock silenced. That's a first.

Before Johnson can map out a storyline for next year's WrestleMania, there are more movies to shoot. He just wrapped, "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," and begins filming Michael Bay's "Pain & Gain," with Mark Wahlberg on April 3. He also has starring roles lined up for "Fast Six," and "Hercules."

Johnson would like to shed the invincible hero role for once and grapple with a meatier, dramatic role.

"A role like that will come," he said. "I can't wait for that to come, by the way. We'll develop things. I'm patient."

He won't have to wait much longer for WrestleMania.

"He wants to be No. 1, so do I," Cena said "So go at it boys, and see what happens."

Cena rises above hate in, out of ring

While John Cena and The Rock continue their verbal sparring, maybe getting lost in the storyline was the push for Cena to capture hatred — to turn against his fans, turn against what he stood for.

The agitators obviously weren't reading his shirt — Rise Above Hate.

"In a verbal sense and an athletic sense, this is a reactive business," said Cena. "It's one of those deals, remember, when Steve Austin was flipping everyone off, doing all of those things considered evil things, he became the ultimate cool guy.

"On the flip side of things, although I can handle business when I need to, I really make conscious choices to do the right thing. There's still a giant portion of the audience associated to the Attitude era that I believe thinks I am a bad guy.

"But I'm not a bad guy. I generate so much hatred just because of the way I act. I look at Tim Tebow as a good example. People couldn't stop saying his name. He's such a standup guy. People don't believe it because it's almost too good to be true. And he generates that hatred.

"I have fun with this business. I love every second of it. I love to be right there in the middle of the hunt. At the end of the day, it's not my job to force people in any direction. I just go out there and see what happens. You can analyze character development all day, but with the current state of affairs, there is no need or rationale for me to deviate from what I'm doing."

Make no mistake about it, Cena is a good guy. He's become a Make-A-Wish icon.

"Families are getting one wish," said Cena. "I often try to put myself in those shoes and I can't do it. There are so many things I want to be a part of, but to have a family or child say: 'I would like to meet John Cena or like to attend a WWE event, that's my one wish.' You cannot not be happy about that."

As one of the faces of WWE, Cena has become a poster boy, an image WWE would be reluctant to crush.

"I don't think it's necessarily important for the kids to look up to me," said Cena. "I think it's important for them to look up to someone. In present day and age, sometimes I am that someone. As long as you're the someone, you need to make conscious decisions about who's watching you. I have very good estimation on our audience, especially the ones that follow me. I try to handle myself accordingly."

Zack Ryder Interview

Published on March 19, 2012 by MauriceKneisel

By Maurice Kneisel.

Zack Ryder has been the big story of 2011. He went from not being used to starring alongside John Cena in what happened to be the main storyline on RAW for the past couple of months. I recently got to meet the Long Island Iced Z in Munich and asked him about his YouTube show, what Cena and CM Punk did for his career and whether he believes comedy characters can become World Champions.

Maurice Kneisel: Hi Zack. One thing I’d like to straighten out before we start: Is that Curt Hawkins‘ cane you’re carrying around with you?

Zack Ryder: (laughs) No! No, it’s my own.

Kneisel: Ok then, let’s get to the actual questions. You pretty much forced WWE into pushing you due to your YouTube show. How did the whole thing start?

Ryder: I started wrestling in 2003, and at the end of each year I said: Ok, I did this. 2003 I started wrestling school, 2004 I had my first match, 2007 I had my first WWE match, and so on and so forth. So in 2010 I looked back and I said: what did I do? The answer was nothing, I didn’t do anything and didn’t accomplish any of my goals. I still had a job, but I didn’t do anything and realized my time was running up in the WWE. I had been there for a while and no one was going to give me a chance. So in February 2011 I started “Z! True Long Island Story”. At the time I didn’t know exactly what that was. All I knew was my parents got me that little flip cam for Christmas, I just set it up on an old Tripod and started filming myself inside my apartment. Week by week I started adding little skits and little interviews with a Buzz Lightyear toy or a Justin Bieber cardboard cutout. It just started to gain momentum and pick up on its own. Without that show I wouldn’t be where I am today, I definitely would have been released, a hundred percent. “Z! True Long Island Story” basically saved my career.

Kneisel: Did you intend on getting yourself over through the show, or what was the goal?

Ryder: Yeah, that was the goal! Because I was just sick of sitting home, wondering what’s going to happen next and wondering how long I’m going to be here. I was sick of walking on egg shells and being job paranoid. The goal was either to get fired or to get noticed – and I got noticed.

Kneisel: Definitely. Some of your colleagues seem to try going the same way. Do you think it can work again, or was it a unique development?

Ryder: I think it was a once-in-a-lifetime-thing. I wasn’t the first to use social media, but I was the first one to really embrace it, totally rely on it and use it to the best of my abilities. I’m 26 years old, these things are what my friends use. My friends are on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, so I just used that since I felt I was the best person in WWE to be able to. People are doing it now, they’re starting their own YouTube shows, so that’s all good, more power to them. It just gives me more motivation to be the best one out there.

Kneisel: Your dad plays a big part on your show. Is he really that cool, or did you tell him to?

Ryder: (laughs) You think he’s cool? I don’t think he’s cool at all. But yeah, my dad’s on the show, he’s entertaining, the people love him – it’s great. It just started off as a one-time thing, I was at my parent’s house and like: “Hey dad, I need another scene for my show this week. So, who’s your favorite WWE Superstar?” And he said “John Morrison” instead of me, so I was like: “What? You can’t say that, it’s my show!” People loved it and we just built off it and built off it. I just finished episode 56 and he was in that. It’s crazy, people recognize him on the street, they recognize him at WWE events. He’ll be at WrestleMania, so I’m sure he’ll sign just as many autographs as me.

Kneisel: Speaking of WrestleMania, you haven’t got a match so far, but I suppose we’ll see you in Miami, right?

Ryder: I really want to get on that show! My ultimate dream is to be on a WrestleMania card. I’ve done some run-ins, I’ve been backstage, but I never had an actual match. So hopefully this year, on WrestleMania 28, Zack Ryder will be on the show.

Kneisel: There’s so much talk about Rock vs. Cena in the main event. What’s your stance on the match?

Ryder: I compare it a lot to Rock vs. Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 18. This is the Superstar from the past – in this case The Rock – versus the Superstar from the present. It’s going to be exciting, the crowd’s going to be split, it’s going to be half Rock, half Cena. Personally, I’m gonna put on a hooded sweatshirt, a hat and I’m gonna go out there and watch them from the audience because it’s going to be electric.

Kneisel: Speaking of Cena – he and CM Punk did a lot for your career by supporting you when you started the show.

Ryder: Absolutely! Cena, CM Punk, Miz, Dolph Ziggler – there’s so many guys who, when I first started my YouTube show, would retweet my link. That was a huge help since I did not have many followers, it got me so many more views. Without those guys I don’t know how successful the show would have been. There are other people, like Curt Hawkins, who started a YouTube show and it just didn’t take off. Not because it wasn’t good, it just didn’t get the viewership.

Kneisel: Speaking of Curt Hawkins – you two became the youngest Tag Team Champions in the history of the WWE…

Ryder: If you combined our ages, we were the youngest tag team. We started wrestling school in 2003 the exact same time, both from Long Island, both life-long WWE fans. Just the way it worked out, we got signed together, went to developmental school together, broke into the WWE together and became WWE Tag Team Champions together.

Kneisel: It doesn’t work for him the way it does for you. Did he ever ask you for advice?

Ryder: We both weren’t getting used, both did nothing. It just so happened that I started that YouTube show and it worked. He’s busting his ass and he’s trying to make it and I’m sure he will. I’m trying to put him on my YouTube show now because he’s not getting his time on RAW or SmackDown! Even if my show helps him out a little bit, I’d be glad I could help.

Kneisel: During the Cena/Kane storyline it felt to me like you and Eve were stealing the show from Kane a little. He seemed more like a supporting act at times. What’s your stance on this?

Ryder: (laughs) That whole Kane/Cena/Eve/Zack Ryder thing was the worst two months of my life. (laughs again) And it’s still not over! I thought Eve was my girl and I thought Cena was my friend. Kane beat the living hell out of me for two months straight, Cena kissed Eve, Eve said she was using me, so… I believe Cena was doing the right thing for me and Eve just kissed him. And then Eve kissed me on RAW, so my mind’s racing and I don’t know what’s going on.

Kneisel: But it’s still Broski before Hoeski, right?

Ryder: It’s always Broskis before Hoeskis, yeah.

Kneisel: Mick Foley recently commented on the whole storyline, especially on the part of Eve being called a “Hoeski” on TV. What’s your opinion regarding his statements?

Ryder: (hesitates) I didn’t really see his comments, so I’m not sure.

Kneisel: He wasn’t too pleased with Eve being portrayed that way.

Ryder: Well… she shouldn’t have kissed John Cena, what can I say? (laughs)

Kneisel: Okay, I see. Do you think comedy characters like Santino Marella or – no offense – you can win the big one, the World Title?

Ryder: Santino, right now, is on top of the world, he’s the United States Champion. But I don’t think I’m a comedy character. Am I funny, is my YouTube show funny? Yeah, sure! But go back and watch my match at TLC versus Dolph Ziggler – that wasn’t a comedy match, that match stole the show. I think I have the potential to win the big one.

Kneisel: What happened to those One-and-a-half-legged pants you used to wear on ECW?

Ryder: (laughs) You know, that was something I used to get attention after I broke off from Curt Hawkins. I cut my hair, but I didn’t feel like that was enough, I needed something else to stand out. So I came up with the idea of wearing those one-legged tights and it worked. It got people talking – whether they knew my name or not, they knew who the guy in the one-legged tights was. And that was a good thing. But then, when the time came and I got more serious, I went to the traditional trunks and I wouldn’t go back there, no way.

Kneisel: A little bit like The Miz, getting more serious?

Ryder: Yeah! Like The Miz dropped his hat and shorts, it was time for me to drop the one-legged goofy tights.

Kneisel: When will we finally see The Big O on WWE?

Ryder: (laughs) I don’t know! He had two wrestling matches already. Big O is this big meathead from my gym in Long Island who I absolutely hated because he’s one of those loud guys in the gym, always grunting, always screaming, always talking about himself. I’ll never forget: it was 2008, I was doing calf raises at the gym and he puts his headphones in my ears. It was “Summertime” by New Kids on the Block, and it was just such a ridiculous moment! We’ve been friends ever since, he’s been on my YouTube show, he’s one of the key characters on my show. He started training to become a WWE Superstar earlier this year and you never know, he could be one of the next guys, too. Everything’s possible.

Kneisel: I think I read a while ago that you were considering ending the show, because you grew a little tired of it?

Ryder: I didn’t want to jump the sharks, so to speak. I did it to get noticed and it’s 56 episodes in, but trust me: I ain’t stoppin’ anytime soon.

Kneisel: How much time does it take from you?

Ryder: It takes me pretty much the whole week. I’m always thinking about it because I’m coming up with the material each week. I don’t have anything in advance, it’s a weekly show and I’m filming stuff, editing. I do all the editing by myself. You know, I’m a professional WWE Superstar and not a professional editor, so it takes me time. I’d say at least ten hours a week, at least. And sometimes it takes me way more. Certain episodes where I’ve done training montages, or the episode where I did the Best Of the first 50 episodes – that one took me forever, that took me weeks.

Kneisel: Speaking of the best episodes – what’s your favorite scene from the show?

Ryder: My favorite scene? (laughs) I mean, there’s so many. One of my favorites, off the top of my head, is definitely my training montage that I filmed for the Nassau Coliseum, Long Island show in June, I think it was episode 17. Kind of like a Rocky-style video montage. It was pretty ridiculous and that was one that took me forever to do. But in the end, it was great, one of my favorite things and I had a lot of fun.

Kneisel: Final question: Do you enjoy being a face, or could you see yourself portraying a heel again, like you used to for many years?

Ryder: I was a heel for a while, it was cool, but “Z! True Long Island Story” turned me into a face. WWE didn’t say: We’re gonna make this guy a good guy, it didn’t happen. The fans did it on their own and whatever happens, happens. Love me or hate me, I’m going to be Zack Ryder, Long Island Iced Z 24/7 365.

There are no plans on doing a 'prediction blog' for WM28 this year. So many matches could realistically go either way which is an ideal scenario for all fans. Plus, when I do some minority of jackasses always proclaim that I have inside info and use reverse psychology, etc. Yes...it's absurd.

WWE friends who have seen the Cena/Rock TV special in its entirety that airs on many the NBC Universal platforms next week have raved about the one hour broadcast. I've been privileged to see several snippets of the show and I, too, was impressed. WWE has their 'A Production Team' working on this personal look at both @JohnCena and @TheRock with the overwhelming bulk of the footage being behind the scenes. From what I have seen, this is a must see for all WWE fans and those who follow the business in any manner. It airs just before RAW this Monday night and then throughout the week on various NBC-U networks. I'd assume that WWE.com will have a listing of the air times.

Assuming that it's Cena vs. Rock closing the show at WM28. as many expect, it will be a former collegiate football Offensive Lineman (Cena) vs. a former Defensive Lineman (Rock) in a battle inside the squared circle that may, at times, resemble the line of scrimmage in a heated, rivalry football game. The low man wins or so the old football adage goes.

When approximately 75,000 fans are primed and ready for the main event at a four hour event such as WM28 and two, former main stream athletes are preparing to perform, the performance aspect of the process is often times lost in the world of oneupsmanshp and athletic prowess. I can see that happening in just over a week, Sunday April 1, in the Rock's hometown of Miami between two men that our Talent Relations team signed many years ago.

I know better than most what motivates both Cena and Rock and being perceived as second best at anything isn't in the conversation.

Looking at the outcome as objectively as possible in the Rock vs. Cena match, no matter who wins this main event, controversy will follow. Mark my words.

The match that I personally have the most emotional investment in is the "End of an Era Match' between two future WWE Hall of Famers, HHH and The Undertaker, inside the most infamous structure ever erected in the business, Hell in a Cell.

For me, I hate to see either man lose but losing is inevitable in the HIAC. Will HHH further immortalize his amazing career by being the man who breaks 'the Streak' or will the Undertaker, who hasn't had a single bout since last year at WrestleMania where he was carried out after snatching a victory from the jaws of defeat with Hell's Gate, be able to prevail?

As an added caveat, what role will Shawn Michaels play in this scenario as the special referee?

HBK's decisions will be final as I understand it but the question looms large as to where Shawn stands going into this bout. Even if HBK were totally neutral going into this assignment, and I don't think that he is, can Michaels help himself from trying to steal the show from two of WWE's most respected competitors ever?

In my professional lifetime, I can't think of three men that Ihave more respect for than the men who will be locked inside Hell in a Cell at WM28. It is highly unlikely that any of us will ever see the three of them even remotely close to being in this environment ever again.

On another personal note, the journeys that @CMPunk and @IAmJericho have taken in their respective careers to get to where they professionally are today have earned my respect tenfold. Neither man exactly 'fit the mold' the industry set for its superstars but both men have successfully defied that line of thinking to ascend to the top of their vocation.

Without question, Punk and Jericho will do all that they are physically and mentally able to do to 'steal the show' at WM28 for the coveted WWE Title in a bout with a strong, personal issue being underscored.

For those attending WM28 in Miami, I will be at AXXESS Friday night with the King at the HOF booth from 8-10 pm and will be back on Saturday morning from 8-10 am at the Hall of Fame booth with Jerry Brisco and Jimmy Hart.

Plus, JR's products will be sold at the WWE Merchandise Stand at AXXESS throughout the week.

A WWE person who would know told me this week that the stage being designed for WM28 which will serve as the entrance area, etc is breathtaking. Hundreds of hours of preparation time will go into making Sun Life Stadium look amazing for the Sunday April 1 spectacular as the staging, pyro, etc at this event seems to get better each year.

We've gotten a ton of WWE HOF questions this week on Twitter @JRsBBQ to the point of damn near overkill. I won't dispute who fans think should or shouldn't be in the WWE HOF because I respect people's opinions but if you read our Twitter time line you will see how obsessed some people are on this topic. Ironically, many who complain actually don't know who's already been inducted. Amazing.

Q...Did @HeymanHustle ever really piss you off during commentary? Yes. Paul Heyman also pissed me off in meetings, on long car trips, plane rides and at lunch. BUT...he was a helluva broadcast partner and a brilliant mind. Did we 'hate' each other as it appeared we did on camera? The answer is....no. However, our chemistry and ringside dynamic was certainly combustible and, I think, entertaining.

Dumb question of the week....Was Cena's car wreck last Monday part of a storyline? That would be a no as I roll my eyes.

Q...How can I make my grilled Salmon better? Easy...two steps...JR's All Purpose Seasoning and our Main Event Mustard. Use those two things and call it a day. Same goes for baking or broiling the Salmon.

Seems like many fans are just discovering the latest Steve Austin DVD which is the one that Steve helped produce. We've gotten glowing feedback on the alternative commentary that Steve and I did on three of his hand picked, WrestleMania bouts. If you haven't seen that aspect of the DVD, check it out. It came out really well and features great insight from the Texas Rattlesnake. Follow Stone Cold on Twitter @steveaustinBSR.

It would seem that WWE is looking to hold future WrestleMania's in outdoor stadiums whenever possible so for those who want WrestleMania to come to your local, 10-20,000 seat arena you might want to re-think your wish list.

While on the subject of WrestleMania in London's Wembley Stadium, would fans pack the place after midnight London time on a Sunday night so that the event could be live in North America at 7 pm New York time?

I get a chuckle out of those who tweet or email me here at the Q&A section of our site saying that I should "quit WWE" in protest of not being utilized on weekly TV, etc. I'm just curious, would me quitting be classified as merely stupid or just immature/egocentric...or all of the above?

Some people need to realize that with doing weekly TV comes approximately 51 weeks a year of travel. Ever try that for a decade or three?

THQ has some amazing, WWE plans for 2012 and beyond. I like THQ's 'Attitude.'

Yes, I said that Tim Tebow joining the New York Jets was akin to an Apostle buying a condo in Hell and trying to change the neighborhood.

Q...Is WWE leaving Florida with their developmental program? I see many, positive changes occurring in WWE Development in the future but leaving Florida isn't on the radar as best that I know. I've always said, and I'm sticking to my story, that WWE has no more important department in their company that the development of new talent. I do see WWE Developmental growing and growth is often looked upon as 'change' and 'change' is too often perceived as a negative.

Rumors have it, don't we all love rumors and a little 'dirt,' that there will be several surprising, distinguished guests attending WrestleMania this year.

Q...Would it help JR's cause to Tweet @walmart or @walmartspecials? Absolutely, communicating with any major retailer on our behalf is a good thing.

Q...What's the latest on Ric Flair attending the WWE HOF Induction Ceremony with the Horsemen? Status quo as best that I know. Ric's planning on attending as he has said he was going to do. Because Ric appears on TNA this matter has been blown out of proportion in my opinion. I see it as a win/win for all involved but specifically for the fans which should always come first.

As of Saturday afternoon I have updated the Q&A section of this site. Check it out.

If you're looking for a healthy snack, try our 97% Fat Free, JR's Beef Jerky that comes in FIVE flavors. We make it from the eye of round and it's steak-like. Right now you can save 20% on all of our products at http://www.wweshop.com/Ca...y/JimRoss. JR's is not available in stores outside Norman, Oklahoma Homeland Grocery stores so it's online sales only with worldwide shipping available.

Q...Can Women's MMA really be a hit? I think so but that's up to Zuffa/UFC and how much they want to build that division. Any company reaps what they sow with talent and new innovations. @RondaRousey has the 'it' intangible and she damn sure is an athlete but there can be more Rousey's, Gina Carrano's, etc developed over time. I see more women getting into MMA as every day passes. I'm not saying that Women's MMA will always be a show closer but it adds a new, viable element to the promotion of a given event and potentially attracts a different demo.

Hopefully, the ladies will be smarter than some of the male, MMA fighters who seemingly are more obsessed with tattoos, defiance, etc than they are learning marketing skills and how to effectively put sentences together that will earn them more cash in a profession that has a short shelf life.

Follow us on Twitter @JRsBBQ. You might be surprised at what we address and how many folks that we interact with in a given week.

Please share our site with your friends and make a drive by to http://www.wweshop.com/Ca...y/JimRoss.

Wrestling Empire Joins Tag Teams With Studios

World Wrestling Entertainment

Hugh Jackman, right, lays into the WWE superstar Dolph Ziggler on “Monday Night Raw.”

STAMFORD, Conn.

EXCEPT for the buccaneerish black flag fluttering in the breeze off Long Island Sound, the headquarters of World Wrestling Entertainment here looks like any other corporate office park on the I-95 corridor. Trim. Tidy. Quiet. But there are a few indications that this isn’t your usual button-down workplace. Like the 200-pound barbells in the corporate fitness center.

“They’re really not intended for normal human beings,” Michael Luisi, the president of WWE Studios, said, laughing. Much like the performers of this professional wrestling empire, presided over by Vince McMahon, the room and its equipment are larger than life, out of human proportion, tailored to the stars of the cable hits “Monday Night Raw” and “Smackdown” and the live spectacular “Wrestlemania XXVIII” — “the Super Bowl of wrestling,” in WWE parlance — which rumbles into Miami on April 1.

But Mr. Luisi, who is charged with negotiating the future of WWE’s movies, is preoccupied with a different kind of muscle, namely the company’s tremendous fan base. Last year’s Wrestlemania, held in Atlanta, attracted more than 71,000 live bodies and well over a million purchases on pay-per-view. Twelve million viewers tune in each week to “Raw” and “Smackdown,” the highest-rated shows on their cable outlets, USA and Syfy.

With 13 pay-cable events each year, six television broadcasts a week, a line of Mattel action figures and various other properties, WWE has the kind of marketing clout that should be able to give its film projects — previously dominated by mediocre vehicles for fading wrestlers — the juice they need to be commercial. Successful. Maybe even respectable.

“To some degree we’re under a microscope,” Mr. Luisi said of WWE Studios, “because people are scratching their heads a little bit and saying, ‘What exactly are they up to here?’ ”

He likens the wrestling powerhouse to the Walt Disney Company, smiling as if to acknowledge the incongruities. “We have a very iconic brand; we have a core of fervent fans; we have motion-picture production, television productions, live events, consumer products, digital and social media,” he said before adding: “It’s certainly a brand very different from the Disney brand, and we are TV-PG. But we’re a family brand at the heart. You wouldn’t think of it that way. But you wouldn’t expect to see the Muppets on ‘Monday Night Raw,’ and there they were.”

It’s true. Last Halloween, Kermit, Miss Piggy and other Muppets mixed it up on “Raw” to promote “The Muppet Movie.” In September, Hugh Jackman, pushing his feature “Real Steel,” made a much-publicized “Raw” appearance, one that married his movie’s plot to the script of the show.

And in January — online, on television and in the arena — WWE helped promote “The Grey,” starring Liam Neeson and distributed by Open Road. That company’s president for marketing, Jason Cassidy, said the promotions led to “significant momentum” on opening weekend, when the film was No. 1 at the box office (as were “Real Steel” and “The Muppets” on their opening weekends).

“We don’t claim sole responsibility for that,” Mr. Luisi said. “But I think we helped them reach that audience.”

Now WWE Studios wants to reach beyond its core audience. “It’s a different perspective than perhaps we’ve had historically, which was: ‘We’ve got this great fan base. Let’s create content for that fan base,’ ” Mr. Luisi said.

To reach the nonfan WWE Studios is moving more heavily into co-production, other partnerships and acquisitions. Working with partners and a budget of $15 million to $25 million, it is producing six to eight projects in 2012 for later release. Besides alliances with Open Road on “The Grey,” and with Anchor Bay, the company has announced a three-picture deal with Fox, which will continue the “Marine” action franchise, a WWE fan favorite starring John Cena (who, at Wrestlemania, will be facing off against Dwayne Johnson, a k a the Rock, who’ll not only be returning to the ring for the first time in eight years but will also be promoting this summer’s Paramount film “G.I. Joe: Retaliation”). A two-picture deal with Lionsgate will include a reboot of the “Leprechaun” horror franchise (in which the WWE’s resident in-ring little person, Hornswoggle, is likely to star).

Then there are acquisitions like “The Day,” a postapocalyptic thriller that WWE, working with Anchor Bay, bought at the Toronto International Film Festival and will showcase at the coming Sarasota Film Festival. Stars from the film as well as from WWE will be making the trip to the Florida festival.

“It was sort of my idea,” Tom Hall, Sarasota’s director of programming, said about the wrestlers coming to his arty event. “I got into it in the ’80s as a kid. The film doesn’t have anything to do with wrestling. It’s a postapocalyptic genre picture, and I would have showed it anyway, but we’re a hotbed of wrestling here, and my strategy is having as diverse a lineup as possible.”

What WWE brings to its partnerships is the entertainment business’s oft-sought but seldom realized vertical integration. “I would argue that the only real brands in the movie business are Pixar and WWE,” said Graham Taylor, head of global finance at William Morris Endeavor, who consults frequently with WWE. Another partner is Pathé UK, whose managing director, Cameron McCracken, knew Mr. Luisi during Mr. Luisi’s 12 years as a Miramax executive.

“I raised an eyebrow when he went to WWE,” Mr. McCracken admitted, “but he explained what they were trying to achieve, and I had no qualms about partnering with him on ‘No One Lives,’ ” a horror thriller from the Japanese cult director Ryuhei Kitamura.

“Ryuhei is a perfect example of where we want to go,” Mr. Luisi said. “He’s commercial, artistic, has a huge cult following, is a very stylized visual director, and I think that he’s someone who is making the kind of broad, elevated genre movie that will satisfy our core audience and reach a broader one as well.”

Mr. McCracken said he saw no downside to the partnership. “Sometimes I watch the opening credits of a so-called highbrow film, and my heart sinks, because I fear the film is going to be too earnest or too small. But of course all preconceptions go out the window as soon as the film starts. There are only good and bad films, not good and bad credits.”

John Cena berating Lilian Garcia's ring announcing ability at Tuesday's SmackDown taping in Newark, New Jersey has drawn the ire of numerous fans of the veteran Diva online as they feel it contradicts "be a STAR," WWE's heavily promoted campaign to put an end to bullying. A former WWE talent agrees with the sentiment.
Sinn Bodhi, who formerly competed as Kizarny for the sports entertainment organization, posted the following user comment on Twitter Friday slamming their anti-bullying campaign: "I can't take the #WWE Be A Star Campaign seriously when it's known what they said about Lilian Garcia and @SiNNbODHi #Hypocrisy."

The incident was the latest example of WWE publicly ridiculing Garcia following her decision to leave the company in 2009. She took note of the heavy fan support following this latest mockery and went on Facebook and Twitter to write a thank you message.

"Hey my Lil Rockers, just want to tell you that I LUV YOU, I LUV YOU, I LUV YOU!! You are the BEST fans in the world!! Thank you for being there for me!! Xoxo wink:" she wrote following Friday's SmackDown broadcast on Syfy.

Following the conclusion of Tuesday's show, Cena belittled Garcia in front of the Prudential Center audience for mistakenly introducing Zack Ryder earlier as "Long Island Iced Z, Jack Swagger" for his match against Jack Swagger, saying "she looks absolutely beautiful but doesn't know what the hell she's doing." He had a street clothes dressed Tony Chimel brought out to properly introduce Ryder since he's a professional and "knows what he's doing."

Another report on WWE's poor treatment of Lilian Garcia:

During Tuesday's SmackDown taping at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, ring announcer Lilian Garcia erroneously introduced Zack Ryder as "Long Island Iced Z, Jack Swagger" for his match against Jack Swagger. On Friday's broadcast, which has already aired overseas, the mistake is edited out in place of a voice-over of Garcia correctly introducing Ryder.

It is the third time in recent weeks where WWE's production team has had to cover for Garcia bungling a ring introduction on SmackDown. At the February 14 show, she botched her introduction of Jey and Jimmy Uso for their tag team match against Epico and Primo. WWE had Garcia record a voice-over following the taping. During the following week's live show, she erroneously introduced Raw Interim General Manager and WWE Executive Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis as "General Manager of Monday Night Raw and Interim (pause) Talent Relations Mr. John Laurinaitis." This led Michael Cole to berate Garcia on-air over her miscue as he questioned her employment with WWE. The announcing error, as well as Cole's subsequent rant, was cut out of the episode's replay.

Following the conclusion of Tuesday's taping, John Cena denounced Garcia's ring announcing ability in front of the live audience by saying "she looks absolutely beautiful but doesn't know what the hell she's doing." He then had Tony Chimel properly introduce Ryder since he's a professional and "knows what he's doing."

Hmm, that's funny Cena thinks Lillian does a bad job as a host because I think the same about his ring appearances and conversations.
