Titanic.

Was it really necessary for Cameron to sink the ship and kill off all those children on it?

It turned my stomach.

Definitely The Sixth Sense and Devil, which have been mentioned. Also Shutter Island!

SI was definitely one of the best ending ever.

Don't remember being so shocked about Snape as I was Dobby. It's really sad in the book but isn't conveyed well in the film. Blew me away when she killed off Dumblebore! It nearly killed me waiting for the film to be released so my wife could find out. The number of times I nearly told her the ending!

On endings I remember the first series of Heroes where Peter Petrelliolijellithingy(?) blew himself and the bad guy up. Well having downloaded it all and watched it before the UK ending I accidentally told me niece. She wasn't impressed. Made me chuckle.

One of the guys I work with walked into work and said, "Watched Rocky last night. He loses." We all thought, "You cunt."

The remake of Kong. Oh wait...

Actually the ending of that couldn't come soon enough. Talk about dragging it out. And having to sit through that hairy, fat fuckers performance for nearly three hours. God Jack Black is annoying. Got the kind of face that if you started punching you'd never know when to stop. And how patronising was Shallow Hal? One more "cuckoo" and I'd have started punching the person sat next to me.

How about finding out the Ewan McGregor could sing in Moulin Rouge!?

I hadn't read the book, so whenever Snape's personal story was revealed...I was like "Wow, didn't see that coming." His character was probably one of the best played characters of the series.

Thank god she insisted that the cast remained English. It would have been a tragedy and a travesty if it had been played by Americans. No offence but it just wouldn't have worked.

That is an incredibly strong harsh ending for a teen comedy. Love it.

I remember watching the movie "No Way Out" with Kevin Costner years ago.

When he turned out 2 be the man/criminal it blew me away. There have only been a handful of movies where the ending really got me like that. The Usual Suspects and The 6th Sense got me as well.

What tricked u?

that was a good one Gray.

I also got caught off guard by:

SAW (the first one where you learn the dead man on the floor isn't really dead)

The Others starring Nicole Kidman. Kind of has that eerie ending like in 6th Sense

The Other - a swedish movie about some spooky twins.

The Mist - because the film ending is different than the book.

Identity - none of those people were real.

The Prestige- sad ending, all those clones and Christian Bale turns out to be twins.

I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!
RIP Dick Clark, Whitney Houston, Don Cornelius, Heavy D, and Donna Summer. rose

Not the first film that caught me off gaurd, but one I cannot see mentioned previously was

CRASH (2005/6)

Brilliant film. Not only was I caught off guard by the ending, but was also shocked at how I had been drawn into stereotyping people. Gave me plenty of food for thought.

so, what is the answer 2 the question of U

Was it meant to confuse us in that Glitter/Jackson kind of way, bit like Leon? I mean, she's acting like a sexy bitch but she's only just started wearing a bra? confused

Just thought, Leon, Natalie Portman. Just watched Black Swan two nights ago. Hell they are both great movies. Gonna have to watch her back catalogue.

Crash was a must see, but I could only see it once. It left me "emotionally drained". The scene with the magic blanket was powerful.

I think what they were trying to get us to think is that she was suffering from an "electra complex".

Ottensen

The year was 1988(?), watching the movies Betty Blue at a friend's house a couple years after it's release. We knew throughout the movie that Betty was bat sh*t crazy, but who knew she would be driven to so much to despair that she she would harm herself the way she did in the climax? Sorry, but once you don't have eyes anymore, Sweeties, there's kinda no turning back from that whofarted . And as for the resolution to the story; Zorg made a horrible drag queen at the end, and I always wonder if he could have been caught for finishing what Betty started... hmmm I tell ya, the unexpected ending haunted me for days. That French New Wave cinema will mess your mind up with all its' twist and turns. shake

"chuckles" at the irony (hopefully) missed.

I'm still reeling from the genocide by the Rebel Alliance during the destruction of the Death Star. How many million poor souls lost their lives that day? And did we ever hear of a war crimes trial? No. Anyone ever notice how the bad guys all came from industrialised places yet the good guy came from a desert (well apart from Darth who also came out of the desert but was good in the end). More irony.

I can't remember when exactly this came out, but i do remember being shocked outta my socks at the ending- with Anjelica Houston being revealed as John Cusak's accomplice, betrayer, Mother/ Oedipal lover omfg who kills him in the end to make a clean getaway for herself....and didn't it end with them kissing passionately before she knocked him off??? talk about cold-blooded. That ending left me all kinds of uncomfortably befuddled, and pretty convinced that one could not get to a higher or more intricate level of game playing and betrayal in con artistry or familial relationships shocked
