I am babysitting and this is my first time ever playing this thing and the remotes won't work. Normally there is a hand and the last time I came over we were able to play Mario Brothers but now the hand will not appear.

I called customer service and they said to open the console and hold the red button for 15 seconds and then to push the red buttons on the inside of the battery section. Did not work.

Googled and found the same advice but not to hold the buttons for 15 seconds simply push the console button and then the battery button. Did not work.

We want to play Mario Brothers!

Anyone know what the hell to do?

Yes.

We did the suggested steps and the lights blink over and over then settle to show which is the first and which is the second. We could not get it to work.

Did you have the sensor bar at a accessible spot where the controller could it could....do it's sensing?

I had to entertain that kid the old fashioned way! We played Light Sabers in the backyard and I wore one of his capes. It looked like I took a bib and put it on backwards!

Yeah... but... there's a sensor bar, too. Seperate from the console. That's what actually "reads" what the controllers are doing.

So there is another thing apart from where you insert the DVD? the sensor bar is not a part of that thing??????

That has to be the issue then! I have never played the Wii, the mom has no idea about the thing and the kid is only 7. I did check cables and all that but had no idea about the sensor.

I will check it next time and play hero! It won't hurt him to be without that thing for a month

Yep. I finally had to tape mine to the top of the TV.

It's hilarious because a couple times I saw a glimpse of the hand and then it disappeared. This explains everything!

I haven't been able to get that much into Smash Bros Brawl even though I loved the original N64 Smash Bros. I dunno why. Maybe I just need to play it more.

I wanted MJ The Experience but after seeing the recent PS Vita/3DS/iPad version

I demand they make a sequel to the Wii version because this looks better than the original

I only have Mario Galaxy 2 and the new Zelda for my Wii. I liked those both, Zelda was pretty neat because when the motion controls were working right I got really pumped about the sword fighting bits. It did seem a little inaccurate in general, but I think they're on the right track for when the technology is perfect.

A few of the little download exclusives are nice, too. Megaman 9, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, and Castlevania Rebirth are nice little nostalgia trips.
