Oh, that one really gets me too. I'm quite an inquisitive person and sometimes I might be a bit too blunt or straightforward (in which case it's understandable if they hesitate or are taken aback) but mostly I just ask very simple direct questions - and yet a lot of people look like deer caught in headlights when I do. It's as if nobody's ever asked them anything before in their lives. It's extra annoying when I get that kind of a reaction from customer service reps whose entire job is to answer questions.

I've not grown to hate people, but I have grown to really appreciate just how complicated people make my life... and I generally rather avoid them on my own time.

Oh, and the irritation I can definately relate to. I used to be so patient with everyone when I was younger. Now, just about everything and everyone irritates me. I have turned into Fred Sanford - a grouchy, cantakerous old man.

Yes I'm like that, I always had some of that in me though I tried so hard to be polite and smile and talkative, even with strangers sometimes or people I worked with. But confrontations caught up to me when I felt I could fake it anymore, and if I had any desire, it feels like it's gone now. Some lifechanging things that happened just made me lose the point of "behaving" and I hate being bitter and jaded, but hope I can change it with time.

Nope. Anger and/or hate takes a lot of energy and for the most part the only person who is miserable is you. Life is way to short for that shit.

The older you get, the more bullshit you're exposed to.

Yeah for me it ain't "people", it's "actions" that I hate. Once something turns into bullshit, I always judge their actions rather than going on about how much I hate so and so. I think also when you're older, you honestly start to give less a fuck about people. There's "youngsters" who hate faster than older folks do because they want everything going their way. When you're older, you don't give a fuck about all of that, you just want them to get the fuck out of your drive way.

Like just let it go. I don't go on worrying about someone who may have a problem with me. I usually just ignore them.

I wouldn't say I'm old (31) but the older I get the more people get on my nerves. I think I've come to a point where I can't be bothered with the effort of trying to play nice with people, or to turn a blind eye, or put up with people's BS. Life's too short and I've got better things to do then waste my time with fools!

I recently quit a job after two years because my boss was a complete tool. He was lazy but acted like he was awesome, he lied, he was paranoid and would pick arguments if he thought you were trying to undermine him, and he had a case of "little knowledge is a dangerous thing"...he'd done a pointless degree and now thought he was some sort of genius. Few years ago I might have stuck it out but now I just though f*ck that and left!

I think the more you see of life, the more you realise how many people are taking the p*ss out of it

I find that the older I get, I might not hate people but I am getting grumpier and impatient with teenagers. Everytime I'm on the subway or doing mall runs (especially on Fridays9, they just drive me nuts. No more days of thank-yous, excuse-mes, or gving up your seat to the elderly, everything is just party party party me me ME

well not really. i do find other people annoying but just about the moment i'm puffing up for a good blow someone reminds me of how annoying *i* am and it takes the wind right out.

the only time other people really rile me up is on the road. because of my line of work i understand all too clearly how deadly stupidity is at 55 mph. that's the only time i really feel anger and i think it's because of the jolt of fear adrenaline.

I’ve actually grown to like people more. I’m a heck of a lot more accepting and more trusting than I was when I was younger. And I like that.

Of course, there are still days when one person or another aggravates me and I decide I can’t STAND them because of the way they wear their hair or I don’t like the way they pronounce a word or something.

But in general, I like people. I think they’re good.
