Is it crazy hormones that bring out the worst of your anger if you were treated badly and you blame yourself for it too though he was pretty horrible too? Not just horrible, but disrespectful and so blind to it? I feel kind of aggressive right now though I never want contact again.

try to think of positive things you want to do with yourself in the future, get your mind off of those negative feelings and thoughts.

Yeah I do a lot of nice things for myself and feel empowered when I do that, especially cause I had no feelings, but now I'm beginning to wake up and remember how awful he was and disrespctful. I didn't let guys treat me badly before, but let this one use my weaknesses to keep him around and feel so mad at myself for going outside my comfort zone and letting myself be tortured by this creep. It was over a year ago, but you don't easily forget.

it isn't easy to forget, this is true. i still remember everything my first 2 boyfriends did to me before i met my husband. the first one is serving a 20 to life sentence in prison for trying to murder me, and the boyfriend i had after that one cheated on me, and did nothing but lie to me. it was difficult for me to move past those things. and it still follows me to this day, because i still have to attend parole hearings for the guy that tried to kill me. but i try to keep focused on today and my future by staying involved in things that bring me joy and happiness. i hope everything will get better for you. i don't know what you've been through, but i hope you are able to heal, and move on to a happier life.

I'm so sorry you've faced all this and are still dealing with it, my heart really goes out to you.

thank you so much! i went through a lot, but i am also very blessed, because now i have a wonderful husband that treats me with a lot of love and kindness.

As for the O.P. -

I can't say that hormones will necessary bring out the anger you have over an ex specifically...BUT...if you're stressed-out and full of angst in general, something could "click" while you're hormonal (an old song, an old photo, a random memory) and trigger your anger.

i was 19 years old, and dated the wrong kind of guy......but at least through my pain and experience i have been able to help others.
