What is your favorite Self-Help book?

My absolute favorite was Louise Hays, "You can heal your life" but I would like to find another as great as that one, any suggestions?

"How To Win Friends And Influence People" by Dale Carnegie is probably my favorite.

Define "self help." I'm not sure I've ever read one. shrug

This is the kind of book I never wanted to read, hated people who read things like this, hated people who use the word "synergy," wrote off this type of advice, etc. I would rather read tree hugging hippie nonsense.

And that may be why it was so helpful to me.

This next one was similar in that I never wanted to read this type of book, but I'd been listening to the radio show, and the book has been quite helpful as well. Maybe more helpful.

Everyone and their brother go to Dave Ramsey seminars around here. I had a friend call me and beg me to go to one cuz it changed their life. I didn't go. Cuz I don't have any money to learn how to not spend in the first place. lol But I know ppl do swear by him.

Yeah he is getting really popular.

I think you could still learn from him. I don't have any money either, but he helps you change the way you think about money, debt, spending etc in a way that makes sense.

Actually, it is your parent's fault

Mind over Mood

anything by Beverley Engel, who writes a lot about abuse and overcoming it

No chicken soup for the soul fairytales. No offense, but even though those were inspirational stories I liked lifetimes ago, I find that they did not focus on people with systemic barriers enough and gave the general public a condensed view of how people really suffer if you look at the statistics out there.
