Without giving away spoilers that I've read, the ending is so bad in part because it refers the audience, who already paid with expectations of a complete story, to -- get this -- a website to find out the conclusion... or at least a possibly more satisfying epilogue.

...And from what I'm reading, the website isn't working properly.

The web site is complete horseshit! its just scenes and trailers from the movie..And when you click on the names of the "people" its just the actors from the movie, not the real people... And, if you dont post a positive comment in the "forum" thingy they wont post it..

Supposedly, this is a true story but of you research maria rossi she was 1 of 3 teenagers who killed some people in a joy ride type of spree in England... NOTHING to do with exorcism

I was wondering if there was any other source besides the movie creators themeselves that indicated it was a true event. I just didn't know. But yeah, movie makers slap true story labels on fiction all the time to sell it more effectively.

That started all the way back in 1974 with Texas Chainsaw Massacre with people still thinking it was based on some kind of real Texan events to this day. A dead give way to that one is the fact that the movie was shot in 1973, put out in 1974, yet the events supposedly happened in 1974 according to the prologue.

That's what got me. This movie had all the potential to be semi-okay.

I thought the acting was half decent for this type of film (the woman who plays the mom/possessed was giving an Oscar worthy performance) and the premise was actually interesting. I didn't mind the slow burn and lead up to the end but when the movie just straight up ends before a third act--what the f*ck?

Anyways---well, the movie has everyone talking so I guess it has that going for it.

also, the new daughter is another creeptastic movie about possession

I saw it yesterday too... I am SO dissapointed, im not even gonna talk about it..

The trailer looked wack as hell. Another film that boasted big fear but was utterly disappointing was the film with Anthony Hopkins in which he played a demon possessed priest. There has not been a good devil film since Exorcist and Exorcist:Beginning.
