I never thought he'd take the offer. he is going to be cranky for sure!

I assume Howard will take on the "Simon Cowell" role or what AGT calls Piers Morgan. So he will be honest but brutal. As for liking reality shows-Didn't he ask his listeners to call in for Sanjaya (the no talent singer on AI) just to mess with that show?

only because they were passing him through and Howard thought that was ridiculous. boxed I personnally thought Sanjaya was adorable.

Im definitely going to tune in Ive never watched AGT before now he gives me a reason too. I wonder what he will say to the contestant who's a hot chick but thinks she has talent would he give her a pass?

Didn't they bring up the dolphin thing and throw in a few drops during that interview? Can't remember. Anyway, wouldn't you agree that this is a longstanding practice with Howard (ease up on somebody when they appear on the show)? Personally, I feel that even if Tyra weren't friendly with Beth, he would've agreed to have her on and would've treated her the exact same way.

Me, I had a bigger problem with the Lady Gaga fawning. TB acquitted herself decently in-studio, but LG just came in and talked all her bullshit and Howard challenged little-to-none of it. Oh, well - he's human.

I see it exactly the opposite. Tyra came in and didn't answer any questions and he didn't press her at all. Gaga came in and gave a great interview with answers that were a lot more candid and less contrived than she has given elsewhere.

He's definitely a better human being now. And all I can tell you is that I personally love the show more than ever and almost always find it riveting.

Peace and love...peace and love! smile

I'm totally with you Ace. I love Howard way better now. Sometimes when they replay the really old shows...I switch it off. I would not have been a fan of his back then.

OMG! I totally LOVED the Lady Gaga interview and performance. She blew me the fuck away.

I think my issue isn't that he's evolved. I like the evolved Howard very much. I think my issue is that I miss that 3rd voice in the studio. Those are big shoes to fill, so to speak, but not filling them is leading to stagnation. At least to my ears.

I'm not an SFN hater. Far from it. I just don't know that this bodes well for the daily show if there's even MORE talk about AGT every day. Then again, maybe he'll lighten up on the talk about the competing shows like AI, DWTS, etc.

Based on what he's said on his own show, no. He feels AGT doesn't understand what it takes to sustain a successful Vegas run.

Did he press Carol Alt, back in the day? shrug

Well, I can't compare 'cause I usually shut off her interviews within the first few seconds, but I have never heard a person talk so much bullshit in my life. barf

Me too. But the more I think about it, it's not even necessarily the 3rd voice that's missing, whether it's Artie, Jackie or whoever.

I think it's someone to play to. When Artie was in the studio, there was more energy. I feel like Howard was more on his game, because had a funny guy he respected and who was a fan sitting in the studio for him to do the show for and try to make laugh. He was the proxy for the audience there in the studio.

Agreed. If it were up to me, I'd alternate weeks with a short list of people in the 3rd chair...maybe Gilbert, Kimmel, Goerge Takai.

Ps...I've been on the .org for a decade, and a Howard Stern thread was the impetus for my first post in General Discussion. Funny.
