Looking for friends from all over the world :)

Hi,

I'm 36, from India and male. I've been a fan since 1993 when I re-listened to Graffiti Bridge, and then generally just got into the whole back catalogue. I think "Adore" is the best song of all time.

I HAVEN'T heard anything Rainbow Children onwards (and I don't think I want to either) - it didn't make its way to India.

I'm looking for friends from all over the world on here, so if you want a new pal, just reply in this thread smile

Thanks,

Domainator.

I wonder how you would fare in Vancouver? They do have a decent-sized Indian population but they have way more Asians. Somehow I have a hard time imagining you with an Asian, even if he was buff and looked like Paul Walker's brother from another mother. hmmm

Oh man, you're really cherry-picking them from all over the country, aren't you? lol

It would be really funny if his name was Newton, because I knew an Indian guy there by that name who I think would be exactly your type. Big, loud, and with a superhero face.

Why did he move from Vancouver to Shediac by the way? hmm

He's actually from Australia, but moved to Van from the UK about 6 years ago.

He lives about an hour and a half away...near base...as he is in the Military. neutral

An Indian/Australian/English/Canadian guy... That's quite the mix.

Sorry to hear that he lives so far away. At least it's closer than Afghanistan. Fingers crossed that they won't send him there on a mission, eh?

Hey guys, thanks TONS for all the messages! smile I think I STILL haven't got used to the power of the internet, all these folks from all over the world talking to me is so exhilarating! smile

Anyway, a little more about me - I'm into computers, greatly into the tech side, but I ALSO like good design.

I currently run a website that I made, which I keep hoping will make me money some day! sad I don't think I'll post it here, because I had posted once here telling people to go to the site, and it got removed, cause they thought it was spam, and I don't want to run that risk again. (It would be a little scummy to use a site like this for advertising, as it's not commercial, indeed it's run out of the founders' own pocket! A BIG shout out to them for this! I had just thought my site would be genuinely helpful to the people on here, but anyway.)

I have a lot of ideas for other websites that I want to make, and right now I'm at the point where going solo just won't cut it anymore, so I'm looking for people to work with me, but it's tough going - I think I've found a coder, but no designer as yet, they're hard to find around here, so I'm just looking.... (I think Prince's own sites that I've been to sometimes have some of the best web site design I've ever seen, I WISH I could work with someone like THAT! God!).

I barely listen to music these days - every time I switch on VH1, I just get disappointed, and there's a limit to how much of that I can take. *Some* tracks do mildly hit my ear, randomly, but I can't say I've got into a band so much that I went out and bought their album in the last 5 years or so. Hiphop these days has turned to SHIT, with these hissy drumbeats, and Vocoder voices which I absolutely HATE, and no *funkiness* whatsoever. The last song I really liked was Superheavy's "Miracle Worker", oh THAT was fun! smile I Do watch X-Factor, because I saw that THAT's where I can find some good *music* - I thought Stacy Francis (about whom discussion has arisen here on the org) was incredible, and it was criminal that they sent her home to keep that little punk Astro.

Well anyway, that's a bit more about me, everybody else please post in this thread, and tell me a bit about your tastes, let's get some discussion going! smile

P.S. Nina B, it's spelt "Laxmi"! smile

Actually, there is no right or wrong way. Since the word is a name that's originally in Hindi which uses a different alphabet, it's all just a matter of approximating the original pronunciation and that can yield different transcriptions. Same thing with "Ghaddafi" and "Gorbachev" for example. In some areas their names are transcribed as "Khaddafi" and "Gorbatjov" and that's just as legitimate.

spelling edit
