You could use Ubuntu Linux disc to get the info off your dead HDD.

I've had to do this a couple of times

If I could suck your dick real good to replace everything your computer has fucked you over on I would, just cause I'm a good friend like that. Why isn't life this simple? shrug

Why, that sounds so crazy it just might work! Certainly there'd be no harm in trying.

lol

Do you REALLY want your porn collection in the hands of Geeks?

And I would think if you go into any form of IT repair, 90% of the things you see would be porn. biggrin It'd be like trying to find a plumber who didn't have to deal with poo ever.

Porn as occupational hazard. Who'd'a' thunk it? lol

So...if you became a Geek...they wouldn't fire you for looking at porn at work... hmmm

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

It's best to keep porn in a flash drive and not in a hard drive. That way people wouldn't be too suspicious lol

To be honest, right now I'm having some of my own computer issues, though it's more a matter of opportunity than calamity. It goes back to last winter, when I was coming home from work, and I found a Dell Latitude laptop on the side of the road. It was missing its battery and was covered partially in ice crystals. I took it home to dry it out, set it aside and forgot about it until about three weeks ago, when I was doing some cleaning around the house. I ordered a replacement battery and adapter, and when I got the battery I charged it up, put it in the laptop and attempted to see what I had. Turns out the LCD screen was damaged, so I ordered a new LCD screen. I got it today and tried to replace it, but it came with a brand new inverter, so I'm trying to remove the old inverter but can't get the screws out. I don't have any screwdrivers small enough to plug into the Phillips head screws, and a steak knife isn't doing anything for me. hammer crash UUGGHH! I don't know what to do now. confused
