It's time to start taking the Bears seriously. The Texans too. Shit, they might get the top seed in the AFC. Just heard Matt Schaub may be done for the season.

According to ESPN, Matt Schaub is definitely out for the season. sad And just as the Texans were about to lead the AFC. Matt Leinart is taking over the QB duties, and this may be his last chance to show he is an NFL quarterback.

And Matt Cassel may be out for the season as well with an injury to his throwing hand. While it isn't confirmed he is out, he is expected to miss at least three weeks. And it may have happened at the worst possible time, as they face the following teams in the next five games: @ Patriots, Steelers, @ Bears, @ Jets, and Packers. While no one is dominating the AFC West division, this stretch could put the Chiefs under.

And as if things couldn't get any worse for the Eagles, Michael Vick has a serious rib injury and could miss the next couple of games. Meanwhile, Denver Broncos RB Noshown Moreno is out for the season with a torn ACL., and Chicago Bears G Chris Williams is out of the season after having surgery on his wrist which was fractured during their win against the Detroit Lions.

What a sickening loss by the Jets. the defense, which did a great job shutting down Tebow, allows him to go 95 yards on the final drive. So many missed tackles - Jim Leonard had Royal for a safety, but whiffed. Then the Jets lost containment on Tebow, and he runs to the endzone.

Jets offense didn't do themselves proud either. O-Line was shit, allowing Mark Sanchez to get beat up. McKnight fumbles on a return, Sanchez throws a pick six, and Green gets hurt which neutralizes the Jets' running game. Awful.

When are other teams going to learn?

You aren't going to beat The Tebow!

LOL, that was awesome.

It was ridiculous. Jets missed so many tackles on the final drive. And why blitz? Dude couldn't hit the side of a barn. Tebow has heart & guts, but unless he improves his passing skills, he won't last. Teams will go to school on him real fast. Let's see what happens against the Bears & Patriots.

Will the Giants please WAKE THE FUCK UP and start making plays??? Four dropped passes already, and the O-line is playing like shit!

Just heard Jay Cutler may have a broken thumb. Bears aren't saying anything yet.

Yikes! Philly may have saved their season (for now). And it doesn't get any easier for the G-Men.

As for my Bears, losing Jay Cutler will be huge. cry faint And while I'm sure some of the fans are already wondering whether the Bears will be looking to sign David Garrard or Kerry Collins or (gasp) trying to coax Brett favre out of retirement, don't give up on Caleb Hanie just yet. Hanie played pretty well in the NFC championship game last season despite having very limited experience, and the Bears' schedule down the stretch still looks pretty favorable. If the Bears split their remaining six games and get some losses either by the Giants, Cowboys, or Falcons, they should get in as the 2nd wildcard.

That last drive by Philly was ridiculous - SIX straight third down conversions????

Here comes another second-half collapse with the Saints, Packers and Cowboys(twice) coming up.

If the Giants have another second half collapse is Coughlin's job in trouble?

Is it me or do the Giants seem to play like shit when they are favored to win?

It was a good win for my Eagels but I'm not hyped over it, they gotta basically run the table to win and I don't see that happening

I'm confused. What is the point of having a 2nd string QB if u run out and sign someone off the street if the 1st string guy gets hurt?

Yes and yes. Giants KNEW the Eagles were desperate, but couldn't match their intensity. Disgraceful.

You never know what Giants team is gonna show up. They usually rock when they are

playing the big boys and the underdogs but struggle in games they seem to be the overwhelming

favorite. And Eli can be so up and down it's not even funny.

Broncos waive Kyle Orton: Bears may be interested in reacquiring him.

http://www.chicagotribune...4959.story

The last time the Chicago Bears lost an injured starting quarterback for an extended period, Kyle Orton stepped in and helped the team enjoy a remarkable season that ended with an NFC North crown.

Although the Bears will replace injured quarterback Jay Cutler with backup Caleb Hanie for Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders, they're still looking for a veteran backup, and Orton suddenly is available.

The Denver Broncos waived Orton on Tuesday, making him available to the Bears and 30 other NFL teams. A league source confirmed to the Tribune that the Bears are interested in reacquiring Orton.

Orton was packaged with two first-round draft picks and a third-round pick to acquire Cutler from Denver in an April 2009 trade. Orton lost his starting job to Tim Tebow last month and the Broncos have gone 4-1 since.

"I spoke with Kyle earlier today and thanked him for everything he did for the Broncos," Broncos coach John Fox said in a statement released by the team. "He was a true professional throughout this season. I've got a great deal of respect for him as both a player and as a person.

"This was the right decision for our football team. We feel good about our quarterback group, and this gives Kyle an opportunity to help another team and showcase his talents."

The Bears have only rookie fifth-round draft pick Nathan Enderle behind Hanie, and coach Lovie Smith said Monday the club plans to add a more experienced passer. J.T. O'Sullivan and Josh McCown, who both have played for offensive coordinator Mike Martz previously, have been mentioned as potential candidates. However, the Bears did not report to the NFL having any quarterbacks at Halas Hall on Tuesday for tryouts or meetings.

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reported Orton's agent David Dunn began talking to the Broncos about a release for his client after Cutler was injured during Sunday's victory over the San Diego Chargers. Orton "let it be known that Chicago would be one place he'd like to play for," Klis reported.

Dunn also represents O'Sullivan.

This could get interesting. Obviously, Kyle Orton knows most of the Bears playbook; however, he is not familiar with Mike Martz' offense. Even so, he played decently as a member of the Bears and left the team on good terms. Plus at this stage he would clearly be backing up Caleb Hanie in the event he gets hurt.

Darn, my Bears lost to the Raiders. sad pout But considering Caleb Hanie was making his first start in the NFL, he did as good as I expected he would for his first time out. He had a really rough start to the game, and he threw an ill-advised screen pass in the red zone that was intercepted and nearly run back for a touchdown if not for a horsecollar tackle by one of the Bears linemen. But he came back later and played pretty well for most of the second half except for the final play where he faked spiking the ball and got an intentional grounding penalty with ran time off the clock and ended the game. rolleyes duh no no no!

Meanwhile the Jets hung on for a gutsy victory, and the Texans won their game but lost Matt Leinart to a shoulder injury. (Looks like they may need to sign Brett Favre to back up Kellen Clemons.) And the Colts lost game number 11 to the Carolina Panthers, and their remaining games are against the Patriots, Ravens, Titans, Texans and Jaguars, so it's possible they may match the 2008 Detroit Lions in futility.

And Tebow wins again!!!!! woot! excited dancing jig highfive boogie

But he still sucks as a quaterback. hmph! doh! sigh rolleyes disbelief

Broncos defense isn't getting the credit it deserves. Instead, you have fans and media hacks like Shit Bayless going on about The Messiah.

Can it get any worse for Houston? Now Matt Leinart is done with a broken collarbone.

Great job by Stevie Johnson in the Jets/Bills game. What a dumbass.

The Giants second-half swoon has begun. I don't expect a win against Green Bay, but they must go 4-0 after that game to have any shot at the playoffs.

They almost pulled it off, this game reminded me so much of the game against the Patroits in NY back in 07.
