Alright I confess! Mommy Dearest is one of my many guilty pleasures and damn if Faye Dunaway wasn't overacting her ass off! mushy Its a great film if you love campy films based on semi-autobiographical bullshit by ungrateful children adopted by a needy, starved for attention, hasbeen actress whom history has come to adore. lol

Joan Crawford: Why can't you give me the respect that I'm entitled to? Why can't you treat me like I would be treated by any stranger on the street? troll
Christina: Because I am NOT one of your fans!!!!!! bitchfight

Lawd, some of those smackdowns were so frightening to me as a kid. I laugh my ass off thinking about some of those scenes now. lol

I haven't purchased this movie but whenever it comes on tv I'm right there with my popcorn as if I'm seeing it for the first time.

One thing that bugged me, insignificant to 99% of people, was the shot of Faye (as Joan) lotioning up her legs. Now, from what I've read...Joan was KNOWN for her legs. She had some of the best gams in town. Faye has skinny baseball bats for legs and I felt that scene was not needed and rather insulting to the late Mz Crawford. It would be like hiring a small breasted actress to play Marilyn Monroe and having a scene focusing on her bosom.

I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

The Movie That Destroyed Ms. Dunaway's film career. wilted tombstone

Ms. Dunaway now claims it was the director, Frank Perry fault for not reigning in her acting. lol I watch it sometimes when it comes on cable, fucking hilarious. lol

I used to call my mother Mommie Dearest. She hated it because, unfortunately, it wasn't that far off.
