This is the life
Everyone has to be somewhere I am here. Testing a dream The pressure of dreams is the killer of dreams And it only gets harder And it only gets harder This is the life Everyone has to do something I am here. Doing what I do best Fearing that worry Will trigger all my fears And it only gets harder And it only gets harder (how'd I get so serious?) Time is the monster All of us fight the same monster To win I scream when I breathe But this is the life This is the life This is the life (1987 Wendy & Lisa)

I think the key to happiness is maintaining a balance of your adult self with your inner-child (I hate that expression, and prefer to use the Psychological term "seether", but people always think I'm talking about that Veruca Salt song).
If either of these qualities are out-of-sync, it can lead to great unhappiness. Everyone knows some person who is in their thirties and has never left home. These folks are the ones who run from adulthood and responsibility, most commonly known as "slackers". Likewise, everyone knows some stodgy person who acts like they have no inner-child whatsoever. They tend to be rather grumpy, since they view the world without any sense of wonder whatsoever. Its all about balance, folks. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

I'll always be a kid at heart. I love being an adult, and have enjoyed the majority of experiences growing up. Even when there were difficult times, and yes I have seen my good share of them they do help to make me stronger today. Now I'm off to play with my

You know in that MJ thing where he is up in the tree, and the documentary guy is being all sniffy and British about climbing trees. . . MJ: (in tree) "Don't you climb trees?" Guy: (on ground) "Certainly not!" MJ: "Your loss." And he said that his favorite things are climbing trees and having water balloon fights. Was I the only one watching that who was TOTALLY with Michael and thought that the documentary guy was obnoxious, stuffy, and OLD and the type of grownup I never want to be? I won't grow up, no sir, not me! I'm with you, tackam!!! Me 2. _______________________________________________________________________________________ You can hate me for who I am, cuz I won't be something that i'm not.

I think that I am still the same person as I was when I was 12. The only difference now is that i'm older, I have to pay bills and be responsible, I can buy beer and have sex.
I still have the same spirit as I did when I was younger. I love anything that is humorous, i'm still attracted to silly people, I have big dreams, i'm still imaginative, sometimes i'm impratical, I love video games, I act goofy and crack jokes when I'm around humorous people, I find humor in almost everything. Those simple things keeps me going, and it keeps me balanced. _______________________________________________________________________________________ You can hate me for who I am, cuz I won't be something that i'm not.

I'll say it flat out that I hate being an "adult".
My adult experience has been more difficult than it has been fulfilling or satisfying, and while I realize there are more freedoms that come with being an adult, I honestly was much happier as a child, despite its restrictions. Growing up has been one of the suckiest things that ever happened to me. Sorry to be so negative. I'm just being honest about my personal experience.

I am having the best time of my life right now. I also had a blessed childhood. I can't say which is better, only that i am excited and very curious about the future .

Time passes, you have a lot of fun as a child and you grow... time continues to pass, you don't have as much fun and you grow older... time begins to pass like a runaway freight train and you don't have any fun and you grow old. Life has a way of killing the magic in the eyes of a child... the wonder and magic of childhood are replaced by routine and drudgery. The anticipation of the day is replaced by dread as you live a walking death. "Faceless surgeons armed with razors cut out our imaginations" - Oingo Boingo My suggestion: Do everything in your power to turn back the hands of time and be a kid again. Run from adulthood as fast as you can and never look back. Find the happiness that you had as a kid and don't let go of it again. Re-kindle your spirit, find your imagination and never let it go. This post is all too true and that is a very good suggestion. I used to live life by the seat of my pants and I'm looking forward to doing so again, in somewhat of a more responsible manner though. Hopefully, I will find that happiness and experience those things that will make me smile. I'm looking foward to it and I really cannot wait!

I always tell my son the he should be a kid as long as he can. I was told this as a child...and I never understood it back then. I sort of understand it now, but maybe it has something to do with how much your childhood sucked. My adulthood has been far more interesting; being married and employed and having to pay bills puts some of those limitations back on, but by and large I can still be who I want to be, far more than I could as a child. As a child, my job was to shut up and pretend to be happy. Fear is the mind-killer.
