ipod-Greatest Invention of Western World

I just purchased an "ipod" and am enjoying loading it with tunes. 4000 songs capacity, 3700 more to load. This thing is truly amazing. Anyone else been converted?

Maybe. I'm never in a place where I can listen to portable music that often. Do the batteries last long enough to actually play all that music?

tommy,

Supposedly the battery life is 10 hours. It also hooks up to portable speakers.

I have a 20 gig Archos Recorder and I listen to in the car through a cassette adaptor. It was also literally lkess then half the price of the Ipod.

The best part of the thing is that it is basically a big harddrive so it's key for transporting ANY kind of file. I'm not sure you can do that on the Ipod.

Also, you don't need any special software to load the songs you just need a USB wire and then click and drag.

Oh Yeah, The recorder part: It has a digital in and also a internal microphone so you can record with my MP3 player which you cannot do with the IPOD.

I like the adapter idea, but i don't have a cassette player in my car. Only CD sad so i would have to have an adapter wired into my car.
