So, who's seen 'Daredevil' yet?

And is it is bad as everyone's been saying?

I knew Affleck would suck (he always does), but the rest of the movie loked pretty good. I'm a big fan of the series from the 'Miller' era, mid-80's stuff.

Anyone who's seen it, post reviews here.

Me and applekisses plan on seeing it. We dig Jennifer Garner and we love ALIAS.

Kind of cool that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck starred in Pearl Harbor a few years back.

I don't think Daredevil will draw as much as Spiderman or any of the first two Batam films, but I have a feeling it will draw nicely. Make a small profit.

I just hope that after the movie has run its course Jennifer Garner will not be labeled as a action/fight specialist. Yes, she is a kick-ass super hero on TV, but I hope any future movie rles she won't be labeled like she is in Daredevil and ALIAS.

I am looking forward to seeing "13 going on 30" -- another JG picture coming out in the next year.

I generally don't watch movies. They're pretty much a complete waste of time.

End.

The anticipated suckage factor is WAY too high on this one, can't risk it. The previews don't look interesting & the best thing they can say about it is "it's as good as it is cool!" Well, what if it ain't cool at all??? no no no!

Okay, I'm an enormous comic book geek, and Daredevil has always been a fave of mine. I went into this flick with cautious optimism. It should be noted that I've never been a fan of Affleck, but I had read interviews where he expressed his love for the character, and that he had been a fan since the Miller run. Okay, so at least the guy knows the character, but he's not much of an actor. This is a crap shoot, at best, was my thinking.

Boy, was I surprised! Affleck actually showed that he can act when he wants to! Not only did he do a fantastic job, he captured so many sublte character traits of Matt Murdock that it blew my mind. After a while I forgot it was Ben Affleck, and got into him as Murdock. His chemistry with Garner as Elektra was dead-on, and his interaction with Foggy Nelson seemed like it was straight out of a Miller or Bendis penned issue.

Colin Farrel proved to me that he is truly the next big thing in Hollywood by bringing Bullseye to complete life. All the sick, psychotic nature of the character was expressed in full. It was such a pleasure to see this character kept true to his comic book roots, and not tamed down for Hollywood (like the Batman films did to those characters).

Of course, the big controversy in the casting was Michael Clark Duncan as the Kingpin. Sure, in the comic he's a white guy, so Duncan must be miscast, right? Wrong! Dead Wrong! Duncan so embodied the arrogant Wilson Fisk it was scary. He had the perfect build, and the perfect attitude (which, in my opinion, are far more important to the character than his skin pigment). There is never any point made of Fisk being black whatsoever, so I don't believe this was an attempt to make the movie more PC. Duncan just fit the role, plain and simple.

Okay, so there is my praise. It isn't a perfect film, by any means. First off, the flick is way to short. Its abundantly clear that the film was trimmed down considerably to win a PG-13 rating. I understand that Marvel was fairly insistent on this point, since they want all the parents to take their kids to see it. Guess we just have to wait for the DVD to see the director's cut, or at least the deleted scenes.

I know some people have already made up their minds that they aren't going to like this movie, and that's a real shame. If you are a fan of this character, then you probably would enjoy it. No, it isn't 100% accurate to the comic, but it comes about as close as you can really get. Set aside your prejudice for Affleck, or your gripes about the altering of the ethnicity of the villian, and you just might find that Daredevil is one hell of a great comic book movie.

Obvious this is a reviewer who isn't fond of comic book heros, and he gives away that he went in thinking of Affleck and his personal life more than he did of his performance.
