Is it weird to tell a guy he's beautiful ?

- Can a guy be considered beautiful too , like us women ?

- If you are a guy , and a women said you were beautiful , would it be a good reaction or would you find it awkward ?

- What do you MEN consider a good compliment from a woman ?

I get tired of telling guys they're sexy , hot , cute , blahblahblah .... that's boring . lol

I have no issue with doing it. If I say that it's VERY much a compliment and should only be taken as such.

A women called me beautiful before [& I've been called pretty a couple of times too rolleyes ] & I didn't get it. Then she told me why & I like it biggrin ....So, I guess there are worst things you can call a man...

Because it's rare to be called beautiful as a male (in Anglo North America, at least), when it happens, it packs quite the punch. I've been called beautiful on occasion (more a statement of character than looks, I'd imagine), and I think it's a wonderful compliment, if it's genuine.

I told my boyfrind he is beautiful and added that I am not sure if it is the right word to use in English. But even in German it's not the word that is usually used for men, but rather something like good-looking.

I don't know. Unless you are referring to his personality, I think it's kinda weird to refer to a man's looks as "beautiful". I'm gay and I've never done it. I have heard men and women use the term if they thought a man was some sort of an Adonis or something, then I have heard them say something like, "Man! He's beautiful!" But, it's kind of rare.

I call Sweetie "beautiful" all the time. He usually looks at me like I'm nuts.

Though...come to think of it, that's not the only time he looks at me that way. hmmm

Not weird all.

I tend to use it when I'm taken aback by the combination of internal (character) and external (physical) workings in a man.

It really is beautiful when it all flows together. I always mean it deeply when I say it.

I can see that.

If you want to refer to a guy who is magnificent inside and out as a beautiful person, I can see that.

But IMO, to just say; "hey that's a beautiful guy" is kind'a weird unless he's like a GQ model.

it's not weird at all as some men happen to be seriously too beautiful. (daniel sunjata comes to mind).

it may not always be interchangeable with hot/sexy if that's what you mean, but hey beautiful remains a compliment either way!

No, but for me it is used only if there was something exceptional or radiant about the guy, or if something about them as a person made them a step above the rest. Usually fine and cute suffice as far as looks go.

That's true, I've only used it like that. I mean outside and inside when i say it. I've never said that to random men! it's only been to men I have known and loved deeply.

I don't have a problem calling a man beautiful. Sometimes it fits better than handsome.

If you will, so will I

To me, beautiful is a more encapslating word than many compliments which are less dimensional.

Someone can be hot as hell, but not necessarily beautiful. If you get the beautiful compliment from me, you've got a lot more going on than just me finding you attractive.

And therefore I think it is fine to be used on males or females.
