i tell my husband and son that they're beautiful all of the time, and i mean it, to me they are beautiful inside and out.

Most definitely a man can be beautiful and there is no harm in telling a man he's beautiful unless it makes him uncomfortable.

Women can be considered handsome as well.

I've told plenty men they're beautiful but of course they prefer to be called "sexy" or "fine".

I never understood why people are comfortable handing out the "ugly" card to both men and women but when it comes to "beautiful" they think its reserved for women or babies.

oh heck no. guys are beautiful too. eric roberts, billy zane, george clooney, johnny depp, skeet ulrich and others. i'd tell any one of them they're beautiful right to their faces. if they asked

Nope. If a guy can't take that compliment pass it by.
