The Theo Epstein era is over in Boston. He signed a 5-year deal with the Cubs worth $15mil.

When you only win seven games in September, somebody's walking the plank.

Apparently, there was a lot shit going on in the Red Sox lockerroom. According to what I heard on WFAN, some players were drinking, eating fast food and playing videogames while games were going on. Francona hinted certain players were more concerned about stats than winning.

With both Theo and Francona gone, I have to wonder if they took the winning with them. Next year is a very interesting year for the Red Sox with all the free agents.

It's a big year in NY. What do the the Yankees do if CC decides to opt out of his contract? Do they committ to him for at least seven more years?

CC was anything but clutch this year. He had a great middle of the year, as usual. But the second half he lost a number of important games and he did not perform well in the playoffs. I would NOT give him a raise. If he walks, he walks.

I feel so sorry for the Cubbies, they just got one of the most overrated GMs in baseball.

Two championships? Yeah, with a whole bunch of players and prospects that he inherited.

Second highest payroll in baseball over the past three seasons and zero postseason wins to show for it, that's Theo's real legacy in Boston.

Hard to believe anyone would opt out of a contract that would pay him $23 million a year for the next four years, an already obscene salary especially for a pitcher. However greed will win out and he will probably discover there's not a lot of teams out there willing to commit more than $120 million for a grossly overweight 31-year-old pitcher who has declined each of the past three years. And Boston owned him until their entire team started to implode at the end of August.

Wouldn't it be great if CC drags his ass back to the Yankees and re-signs for the same amount, if not less. lol

I just read an account myself in USA Today about what was going on. And now Ortiz is saying he may not want to be part of all the drama next year. Everything is coming apart for the Red Sox.

I think CC stays with the Yanks one way or another. I can't see another team paying him more than what he's making now. Tom Hicks doesn't own the Rangers anymore.

Guess you're not a big baseball fan. I know they play baseball down under, but it's probably as popular as field hockey is here in the USA, which is not very.
