My supervisor called me "buckwheat" on several incidents... When I approached him and had a man to man about it. He started sweating profusely and tearing up. His hands were so sweaty when I shook them afterwards my hands were wet. Supposedly he didnt know how offensive it was to say that to me ..he being a white guy.
Hands were basically leaking he was eventually fired. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

One of my former managers at the current company I work for sent myself and three coworkers for training at our company's headquarters for a few days. He arranged all the travel arrangements and gave me the limo number, for the ride home from the airport when we returned. I literally printed out the number and had it in my wallet so I wouldn't lose it.
I get off the plane, waiting for my two coworkers and call the limo...and the number was for a gay porno line. I called at least 3 times to be sure I had the right number...and sure enough got some horny dude breathing all heavy asking what I would like to do.
The thing is the whole office had suspected the manager was gay, but he was very much in the closet at the time. He was actually one of the few people at time who knew I was gay (I had just started with the company and was half in the closet myself), and he sort of insinutated to me he was too, but then would loudly tell people about dating women. I was like whatever, I know your secret and I won't tell anyone. But giving me this phone number "by accident" I was like ok, what are you trying to tell me here. But of course when my coworkers I was with at the airport learned the number he gave was a gay porno line, they all burst out laughing and were like "SEE!!!". I told them not to tell anyone as it could be really embarrassing to him, but of course the next day we're back in the office tone of them went right over to him and loudly told him he gave us the wrong phone #. He looks at me all red faced. I asked to talk to him privately...he explained it was simply a typo, and he was so sorry and that it was definitely nothing personal. I told him just not to worry...I'll explain to the team, if they get obnoxious it was a typo. No big deal. So years later, I am still with the same company, out and partnered and happy. JUST the other day I saw my old boss, who left about 5 years ago, in the city...he came out too and introduced me to his partner as well. We talked about this incident and I asked him ok...was this an accident or what?? He said honestly it was but he was very glad I was the one who got as he knew I wouldn't care and appreciated I didn;t make a big deal out of it.

My coworker announced she was scheduled to have an abortion, the same week I announced I was pregnant. She suffered severe depression afterwards and my boss had to put us in separate offices since my growing belly brought overwhelming feelings of guilt in my coworker turning into her a total BITCH that slammed down the phone on clients who were in mid sentence

that reminds me of when I was young and in a combined classroom--2 grades, 2 teachers in one big room. and one teacher could not have kids, and the other teachers kept having to be replaced because they kept having kids I'm sure it was difficult for her
but that was not the biggest drama that happened at that place My Legacy

I'm confused-if you were a teacher, how did your boss have a factory? Were you working 2 gigs? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

LOL no, the factory thing was my real answer to the original question.
the classroom thing happend when I was a kid in school, they just reminded me of that situation.
Although, if you consider school to be a child's work, then I will take you back to that same classroom where one of my classmates and his mother were murdered by his stepfather for insurance money. My Legacy

I work for a University so one day when I was only 3 weeks in, in my new position in a different department, the University police came in to escort a lady in my office off the premises and told her she couldn't come back. She had to leave her badge and the key to the office on her desk and took all her belongings with her. She had only been in the dept. for 4 weeks. Afterwards, managment came to talk to the rest of us about what happened. They decided to let her go because they found out that a lot of the things she said she knew how to do in the interview, she really had no idea how to do them. Since she was on probation, they let her go but they made some mistakes. First of all my ex-supervisor told her the news on a Tuesday morning. So once the employee got the news, she went irate on my supervisor and out of fear my supervisor called the University police on the lady.
Fast forward a year after that and my ex-supervisor is found incomptent for her position by the dean's office (of our department) and they sent the assistant dean to deliver the following news: either find another position or you will be let go. So she found another position in another department that was a step below the level she was already at. She went quietly, but a lady in my office, who was one of my ex-supervisor's cheer leaders, started creating drama in the office after my ex-supervisor left to start her new position. The assistant dean comes in our office to tell the other ladies to pull their "big girl panties" up and be adults. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I work for a non-profit, and we get donations with credit cards
A long-time donor called and said someone had used his card to buy stuff, and he had only used the card for his donation to my company, so it had to have happened here.
We suspected lots of people except for the person who did data input because it would have been too easy to catch her and she could not have been that stupid.
Well, one day I decided to check her computer and see if she'd been to Bestbuy.com on such and such date and such and such time...well you can guess that yes, she had. She bought a TV and plane tickets--IN HER OWN NAME!!!
I locked her computer with a password, took all her files, but on the morning we were going to fire her my boss was late. This girl comes in and goes to her desk, and I had to leave my office because I was not able to fire her myself and I knew I could not answer her questions about why all her papers were gone and computer was locked.
So I went outside and I called my boss, who was on her way. We met outside and coming in, the girl was going downstairs to the bathroom, glanced over her shoulder at us. She never came out, though, she left through the back exit and ran!
But they prosecuted her. My Legacy

yeah he was a friend of mine, we were about 8 years old.
It is so sad, his father died in a construction accident, and his mother re-married, and the guy seemed like a great guy--I remember he came to class to take part in show and tell.
They planned this huge trip around the world and for part of it they were on a boat. There was some incident where he claimed the family dog jumped into the ocean and the boy jumped in after, and the mom jumped in after him. Then the step-dad, who was some great swimmer, tried to save them both but they got caught in the kelp and they died.
Later it came out that he was a suspect, and maybe he actually struck them on the head? I can't quite remember, but he is in San Quentin for life. Apparently he took out million dollar life insurance policy on an 8 year old boy. Also his first wife may have died under mysterious circumstances.
The mom was actually an aide in our classroom, and so obviously our teachers were distraught. But this was a long time ago. The teachers handled it by saying "not one word about Doug and Verna!"
He had two sisters, I don't know what happened to them, they did not go to our school after that. My Legacy

I really have no idea! From what I've read and heard, it may have had to do with valueable baseball cards that "Pillowman" had Jerry keep in his storage, or possibly some unwanted sexual advances Jerry may have done. What I do know, it was premeditated or at least thought about...from just looking at the books Jerry had in his studio that the police DID NOT use as evidence...stuff called "The Chop Shop" "Piece by Piece" and other books about dismemberment. If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

I assume it's because they had enough concrete evidence like blood, fingerprints and what not. Anybody can read a book about stuff, it doesn't mean they live by it. Kind of like the Bible! If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

One day I worked as a lawyer for this big ass company where I got 'sandwiched' in a fight between two of its (big ass) directors. Both used me as a pawn in their game of chess that overruled anybody and everything going on at the time. I really needed and wanted the job, but the entire company was a snakepit, divided into camps and rotten to the core. You could see, hear, feel, even smell that everywhere.
Just by the end of my contract's trial period, one of the two directors gave me "an offer I could not refuse". From then on I had to only do as he told me AND drastically shorten the term of my contract, or he would fire me at the last day of my trial period, for no good reason whatsoever. Because it was still my trial period, I knew I probably wouldn't have much leg to stand on in court, so I felt fucked royally. However, the other director then told me to refuse this offer and promised me that if I would get fired, he would hire me back immediately.
So I refused the offer I could not refuse and got fired. But I also got hired back immediately. And from then on, all hell broke loose. The people in the camp of the director that fired me were all up in arms about the other one hiring me back again and the chief director was called on his vacation adres to return and intervene. People from all over the company and the industry were getting the 'hot news' that heads were going to roll.
And heads sure were rolling. One after the other flew off, starting with the director that hired me back. Quickly however he appealed his dismissal in court and in first instance won his case. Temporarily this even led to him returning to work also, but then the chief director decided to bring the case all the way to the supreme court. And there, against all odds, he lost in a bizarre, legalised drama where something got into the minds of the ruling judges, that dramatically changed the law on the dismissal of directors forever.
Truly, I am not kidding, a "revolution in law" happened there, which may, or even probably would not have happened if I WOULD have taken "the offer I could not refuse"...
The dismissal of the director that hired me back again was followed up soon by many others, but not anymore by mine. For almost a year longer I worked again with the director that had fired me. In that time he apologised to me at least three times for using me to suit his own and other interests, when that was in fact not the right thing to do. And we actually got some good stuff done too.
When I left, he gave me positive, written references and I could take all the law books that I had purchased for my work for the company too. In the meantime however, almost half of the workforce of the company was cut out, in a usually nasty and unjust fashion. And in the end it all got sold. As it was supposed to, but not as soon as planned and not hardly for what it was worth.
This experience is not even half as dramatic as some of the terrible stories on this thread. However, this was basically one of the worst jobs I have ever had, but also one of the jobs I have learned the most from so far. Very bad but in that way also very good.
