Hangovers!

How bad do you get hangovers? Are you normally as fresh as a daisy or a train wreck after a night on the sauce? What's your best cure?

Hangovers suck. Which is why I try to avoid them.

I don't get them anymore, then again I rarely drink like I use too. I think if you just stay with one type of booze, vodka for me, you're okay. Also stay away from anything carbonated as a mix.

Also the other thing I found was not having to do anything the next day really helps. Sleeping through a hangover is probably the best remedy of them all. Of course to do this successfully you really really really have to tie one on.

I smell like Mel Gibson almost immediately after drinking. I sweat my alcohol. In my teens & 20's I could get drunk off my ass and have the smallest of hangovers, mostly just tired. As soon as I hit 30, all bets were off. I barely drink and I have a headache the next morning. And if I drink tequila, not only do I barf/dry heave, I piss my pants as I do it. It's so pathetic!

If I know I'm going to be drinking in the evening, I try to stay hydrated all day. And I also try to alternate drinks with water so I stay hydrated as I drink my alcohol. That's what works best for me. I think I might try to take an acid reducer before I go to bed the next time I get tanked.

I tend to get hangovers when I drink dark liquor or mixed drinks, not so much with light liquor.

I have heavy hangovers. That's why I try not to drink that much.

I find if I drink until I throw up I hardly have a hangover at all. Probably why I rarely drink.

A hangover is essentially a person's blood going through alcohol withdrawal. I find the best cure after you wake up is to be a "hair of the dog", something that measures a single serving to just get the blood stable and less cranky with you, then enjoy some foods that are salty and sweet (to replace the salt you've lost and even out your glucose levels), then flush yourself with liquids and sleep, sleep, SLEEP for a solid few hours. Wake up, have a good shower or bath, and you should feel repaired. I haven't had a hangover in a looooong, loooong, time. But this is what works for me.

I just take 1-2 painkillers when the headache starts and then go to sleep. If I've stayed up all sleeping for hours shouldn't be a huge problem.

It's usually the drinking at the end of the night that causes it for me. You know when you're first at a bar / club and then go over to your / someone else's place and have a beer or open a bottle of wine (etc.).

I've also noticed that drinking different types of stuff during the night increases the chance for getting it (for one reason or another).

I haven't had one in a while, but they're usually not that bad. I just try to drink some water and take some vitamins before I fall asleep and I wake up feeling alright shrug

I'm the opposite of most people. I used it get ugly hangovers when I was younger.

Now I hardly get them at all and I can put some alcohol away.

If anything I'm just tired or have a light headache.

One should drink plenty of water before going to bed at least 27oz and 1 aspirin. By drinking the wter and aspirin you shouldn't get a headache, although you may still feel sluggish in the energy department the next day.

I rarely drink more than three beers or two glasses of wine at a time, but still wake up with a sinus headache. Non sulfated wine helps a little, but not entirely

It really depends on what I am drinking. There are times I go out and have many shots of Patron and feel super the next day, other times I wake up feeling like butt. I find that if I take a couple of Advil before bed the night of my drinking I will be fine the next day. If I do suffer a hangover it's mainly just a headache and feeling way thirsty and tired.

I get hangovers a lot worse now than I ever used to. I haven't been 'proper' trashed for a while now, but when i'm like that I usually feel sick all the next day.

I try to remember to drink a couple of soft drinks at the end of the night and then take an ibruprofen before bed and have a pint of water next to the bed. If I do feel rough the next day I drink full-fat coke and eat salted crisps. Works every time for me.

I just try my best to chug a huge thing of water and eat some Tums before passing out and usually I wake up feeling fine.

I also don't sleep until I feel moderately sober.

I lost my tolerance for hangovers long ago.

Mee too! I have such a crappy sleep when ive had drinks... Plus, i have to make sure I drink tons of water and eat something before going to sleep, otherwise i get hangovers so bad i spend the whole day in bed, with a migraine pucking my guts out.. Not fun at all!! Which is the reason i rarely drink, I just cant tolerate the hangover..
