So, what are your goals/plans for August?

I've got no goals, so maybe your plans can actually inspire?

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

I really need a studio outside of the home at this point.

Not just for the foot traffic, but I'd be sorrounded by other artist (art destination with many studios where I'm applying). Also too many distractions at home from chores to...well, what I'm doing right now. lol

I really, really, really want to get some sewing done in August and September. I don't start rehearsals for my next play until October, so it's a perfect time for me to make some additions to my wardrobe. cool

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yep, things are really really slow. Every headhunter tells the same thing - there's not a big demand for menswear/graphic print designers right now. And I'm stuck in the middle - I'm too young to retire(50), and too old to start over. But I'm still plugging away - sooner or later, something will open up, and I'll hook up with the right company.

nod it's the kind of industry where you're a youngster working for someone else or you have your own business. Are you freelancing in the meantime?

A little here and there. I've applied for several freelance jobs, but I haven't heard anything yet.

Good luck! hug I've been out of the workforce since 1999 dead and I am planning to have a full-time job by second half on 2012. So far I've managed to get a temping type deal until Christmas, hoping that will give me the confidence to apply for jobs.

Thanks, hon. I'm going to need all the luck I can get. There's a lot of talented folks out of work, and it's tough here in NYC.

Today was the last day of Summer School (I know I keep mentioning it!), so I just want to relax...

As my Sis Tina mentioned, I have a birthday in 19 more days... I'm planning to celebrate it in a "special way". biggrin

  • Tomorrow (6th): Jill Scott in Camden, NJ
  • Next Friday (12th): Kem in Newark, NJ
  • (25th): The Prince Cover Band, "3121" in Atlantic City, NJ

... and any other show I can catch before September. boogie
