"Fright Night" is a great summer movie

Loved it! It's a vampire movie in the old tradition - there is no sparkling here. The vampire is DEFINITELY the bad guy.

Great way to end the last weekend before school starts. There are a couple F-bombs in the movie, and a couple sexually suggestive scenes, just so you know. But no nudity or really any other cursing. I guess they drop those F-bombs in there to get the PG-13 rating.

I love horror movies and I was wondering about this remake. I'm glad it's getting a few good reviews around here. Yes, Colin is droolworthy! drooling

I loved the original. I'm glad people are saying this one is good. I had thought it would be a pointless remake. I'm way behind on my summer movies, but when I get a chance, I'd catch this one.

The original is still better but I liked this for a remake.

Tennant was great but I kind of didn't like the way his character was changed. When I heard he was filling the Peter Vincent role I pictured him playing the meek, cowardly version from the original really well and I was kinda bummed they rewrote him as a douchey vegas musician. Still, I get that the whole "horror host" angle wouldn't work in this day, and he did a nice job with what they gave him. I hope he gets some more film roles off of this.

Charlie was a lot more interesting in this one. In the original I spend the whole movie up until Roddy McDowall shows up wanting the vampire to win. Not so here, although Colin Farrel had a nice, likeable layer of sleaze to him. lol

The only thing I thought they really dropped the ball on was Evil Ed. The original had this weird charisma that I really loved. This one was just McLovin' in a vampire movie.

While I'm at it, I must recommend "Alien Opponent" once again.

Perhaps the greatest movie ever made.

It's the Night Ranger of movies.

Not really. Well, kind of. But in a cartoonish way, not in a realistic way.
