So I went to lunch with some friends today and got on the subject of bday parties. One of the girls is also planning her bday party and said she was doing it at a restaurant. Turns out my friend owns it. So I call him to invite him to my party and dude is like, "Why don't you have it here? We don't serve dinner anymore so you could have the whole place."

Although the whole reason for doing a party was to do it at my house, I REALLY don't wanna deal with pre-cleaning, during-cleaning, and post-cleaning PLUS 100+ mofos all up in the crib. And I was gonna get some of the food from here anyway. So I think the restaurant is the answer. dancing jig

And FREE is always a good thing woot!

These ribs are the BEST! lick

Yeah, the restaurant is the route I would go if I were you. Not only is it nice looking, but you also don't have the major clean-up worries like you would at home except for decorating before the party and undecorating afterwards, if you plan to do that. Just remember to follow the owner's rules and don't question them. If he says no taping things on the wall and don't place things in entrance or exit paths, it's for a reason. Lord knows I've been in his shoes having to enforce rules at parties and it's no fun. And make sure your guests don't act too much a fool and show their asses so you can come back next year. I definitely think the restaurant is a good idea and those damn ribs are making me hungry.

I tell ya, y'all drug dealers have the best connections. lol

That's cuz we got the best party "favors" and the potentiality of blackmail lol

But yeah, doing it here is gonna be HELLA work. That's why I always do stuff at restaurants/clubs. Just setting up would take days. I'd rather roll in and roll out. I'm not doing a lot of decorating, I think I'll just set up some lights in a pink hue and have tons of candles. Then I'll decorate the table with the cake and cupcakes, do a candy bar with a selection of pink/black candy, and do the personalized m&ms in gift bags.

Then, I found out that a homeboy recently purchased one of the best cupcake stores in Dallas, so I got the hook up on that too. dancing jig

I lined up the DJ yesterday and I meet with the catering mgr on Monday to finalize everything. Basically, the whole party is planned all that's left to do is pick an invite and mail them. So basically, the whole things planned for a party in December. Not bad! deal

nod You know black folks love some ribs. They ain't gon remember shit else but they'll sho nuf be like, "Damn them ribs was GOOD!" lol

But I'm doing heavy hors d'oeuvres. Enough to stick to ya ribs without having to feed these fools like it's Thanksgiving. Gotta decide about the alcohol. Now that it's at a restaurant that part is a lil different. Even tho a cash bar is perfectly fine cuz it's a public space I still want to do some themed drinks complimentary. But I gotta see how much of a break they trynna give a bitch before I decide.

Since it looks like a lot of the party crap is gonna be pink and black polka dots I'ma keep it going with the invitation and go with Option 6. Also, it was easier to fit my text on this one vs the others and I like the way the text alternates alignment

So I spoke to dude today and went to the restaurant. But sitting in there it just didn't give me the sexy vibe I need. So, I'ma go back to the joint I had my bday dinner at last year. This time, I'll be in the bar area, instead of a single room, with a full dance floor and a private room. Yeah, it definitely suits my aesthetic much more than the first spot. I'ma still get them ribs tho. nod

This is my new location.
