Is It Necessary To Have 800-1000 Facebook Friends?
I have 365 friends on Facebook, and I think it's better to have that amount of friends than 800-1000.
I actually know 420 people( Some of them do not have a Facebook, which leads me to 365).
What's the point of having 800-1000 friends if you only know 400-500?
Your just letting random people into your life.
Some people like having that amount of friends to make them seem cool.

Having thousands of friends on FB is ridiculous. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

It's an ego-driven thing. People like to log on there and see a gazillion people and tell themselves that makes them special or important, popular, etc. "I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day

If I haven't met someone face-to-face and talked to them at least twice (and got along with them), I don't add them. Honey, stop talking and just create the music.

There is no reward for starting six threads a day with whatever is on your mind as there none for having triple or quadruple digit friends on FB, unless you're Tia Tequila when she was on MYSP, look where that got her. Spend your time on the net wisely, it like the shit you just flushed will never come back. Jeux Sans Frontiers

I started 6 threads today?...Six? Wow,if I can recall I only started three.

A harmless little jab on my part, no offense meant. In your time here, you are on pace for 500 threads or more if you're in for the long haul. Jeux Sans Frontiers

None taken.
Listen, I like talking to the people on the org, that's why I make threads, ya know?
I might make a few "off the wall threads" but hey, we all have them.

Facebook is not necessary. Participating in its use is not necessary. Thinking about how many friends you have on Facebook not necessary, because no matter the number, it holds no importance.

Well prince.org holds no importance.

The two sites have absolutely NOTHING to do with each other in intent or purpose. And you asked.

I don't get it, how do you know you know 420 people? Do you have a list of them?

I only have around 40 and most of them are orgers and former orgers. I have very few friends on Facebook locally. I have two friends on Facebook that used to be my best friends years ago but they moved away. We usually communicate by private messages but they do appear on the wall from time to time. My best friend that I hang out with face to face from time to time, doesn't even have a computer and doesn't even know how to work one but even if he did, communicating by computer would be pointless when we can either just pick up the phone or drive to each other's place. As for former classmates, I'm glad most of them are "former" so I sure as hell don't look them up. I have lurked some of their pages though....dull. Plus, I don't live in a closet any more and haven't for years and I don't know how they would feel about that, nor do I give a damn.
The majority of my friends on Facebook have several mutual friends as I do. I go after other friends sometimes but I don't really add a lot of folks that I probably would never check their wall. In other words, I don't add my sister's best friend's hairdresser that I met only once. . . . [Edited 7/26/11 22:04pm] Andy is a four letter word.

Trust me I know. I know whose my friends, I know whose not. I still talk to those people, that's how I know.

In a way they're the same. 1.You interact with people. 2.You can discuss music or have general talks like this forum. 3.You have a account.

Yes they do. Genereal Discussion forum is basicallt Facebook.

No. Totally different. You don't have a friend count at the org. You don't join the org to find people you used to know. You don't use the org to keep in touch with people in you real world circle of friends (a vast majority of the time) and family (I would guess almost never). Nobody uses the Org to get a job. I don't even have the energy to go any further with this. Just do some searching for the difference between a BBS and social networking. They are not the same in intent or purpose. Not in any way.

1. We have a buddy list. 2. You can find a friend you met at a Price concert. 3. Some people from the org have met in person, and stayed connected through the org. 4. You can get a job through the org, people just have't tried.

1. What the fuck is a buddy list? You know why I don't know the answer? Because this isn't fuckin' Facebook. Do you count your buddies here and ask people on Facebook questions about the total?
3-4. Stop trying so hard. Its not the same. They don't even live in the same neighborhood.

It's just like Facebook. Get over it.

there is a buddy list on the org you add people to it, then you know when they log in

There's nothing to get over home skillet. And I want you to answer question the question in number one.
